Thanks for the english version !

After some tuning I've turned out a 2'15.631 with a TERRIBLE hairpin, and I was way too hesitant on the throttle through Spoon, way too early on the brakes for 130R, and a touch too late on the brakes for the final chicane. Clean lap, but a 2'14.xxx is definitely within reach.

Ouch ! I'am starting to worry about my skills... lol ! Sorry what is 130R ? Name of a corner, the one just before the last chicane I guess ... ???

@Detroitbb : asian psp -3006- but downloaded the UCES version of the game on the french PSN. I remember there were some differences between EUR and US versions with Wipeout Pure but no one told me there were any between those two verisons of GT... Ever heard of any difference ? If it's why you asked me about the version I have...

I tried TOR but... I tried a lot of different ways to make it work but no way... Moreover, I could see some forbidden website through proxies but it's getting harder and harder to find one which can last more than 3 minutes... For YouTube and Dailymotion, thanks to proxies you can see the pages but once you push the play button, the streaming won't start, they blocked the software that plays the video... Never mind.

But good news ! I bought the stratos and the roadster !

See you guys, I have to go on the tarmac cause Glubags started to fly away !!!

I am retiring from doing TAC. I honestly don't have time to compete with my current school schedule. I will continue to host this until the last challenge of this season. Thanks for understanding and Good Luck to everyone competing.

What a pity ! But school is very important, you took the right decision. Good luck with your studies and hope to see you soon when you've got time !

Hi ! A little bit better again but still not enough... I don't know how I could be more than 2 seconds faster... Great job guys !

Lap time: 2'17.670
1'01.495
1'50.873
2'17.670

Good night !

Hi again... just spent all day on the driving test with the veyron while watching movies in order to finally buy the Ferrari F2007 !!! Not fan of it at all... I still don't get why there are F1 cars in GT but still another car ! Still have to buy the Yaris.

I am out for today ! Have fun !

Later guys !

No difference as far as the actual game is concerned - it's just that people with the European copy of the game can only watch the ghost replays if they too have the EU copy (same for the North American version and the Asian copy). I was really just curious!

:)

So sorry to hear this, niigaki... you've been a stellar competitor and and excellent host. We'll miss you a lot!

We fully understand why though - school is way more important. Good luck with your studies and we want to thank you for all your hard work & effort!

Good job!

I did a bit better last night too. I was able to get my time down to a 2'16.474... but it was sloppy and I should be able to knock a few tenths off if I get lucky.

Very understandable. Thanks a ton for hosting these; it's been excellent.

I still need to put in some time to make money for the F2007... hopefully I can get that done this weekend.

You got it. Marked as turn 14 here:

I'll have to settle for a sloppy 2'15.247. I won't have much more time today and no time at all tomorrow to keep working on it. First two sectors here are decent (I had finally run a 59.8xx first sector in a previous laps, had a decent second sector, then I Timo Glocked it into the outside wall of the last corner :ouch:), but the last sector is pretty bad... braked too early for 130R and took it much slower than necessary, then braked too early for the last chicane, let off the brakes a little too much to compensate, and overshot the first apex completely, so I got terrible exit speed out of it... would have certainly been 2'14.9 or better without those errors. Oh well!

And here's a link to the WMV (since easyblast has no youtube access). You can stream it from there or download it... nice resource despite the 5-day limit. 👍

I was about three car lengths up on my 2'16.474 ghost and I took it too easy on turn 14 on Glu's map... then started to brake too early (got nervous) for turn 15. Needless to say, the ghost caught up to me and, I tried to push it a bit too much in turn 16 and turned the SLR sideways and the ghost passed me. If I wasn't out in public at my son's tennis match, I might have cried! Ha ha ha!

Hahaha, exactly the same thing happened to me on my submitted lap.

2'16 is still very fast for this car on S1s, so I stand by my assertion that you've definitely improved. For a while I was struggling to get past mid 2'16s before I figured out the hairpin and Spoon... still went pretty poorly through both of those on my 2'15 lap though.

I really want a 2'14 here, I just don't have time.

Since Niigaki is no longer going to host TACs after this season, would anyone be interested if I start up a third season when this one ends? Same format, same points, same rules. I feel this is the best Gran Turismo event for the PSP version on the internet (believe me, I've searched for them), and I'd hate to see the competition/interest die out after this ends.

Thanks a lot Glubags for the video !

I am in ! It's ok for me ! If you guys want to, you can add your lap time in the "Time Attack" thread in the french forum, and I'll put them in my website ! No time limit for that !

Or I'll change my terms of use and add GTplanet... Could work too !

About this challenge, I struggle in the '17... I tried some tuning but I made it worse... And now I won't have much time to spend on the psp... I'll try later tonight and OH NO !!! my 2'17.670 isn't 100% clean... ! So my new official clean lap time is 2'17.776. I have to do something now...

See you guys later !

PS : I have all the cars for this season now.

Yep, this is the best challenge for the GTpsp on the internet.
Nothing comes close!
Too bad only a few appreciate it in GTplanet.

Why not ask niigaki if you can take over for this season, Glubags?
At least it will free niigaki of time.
School is always more important than video games.

Count me in for season 3 I'm having too much fun to stop now.

Hi guys ! Could anyone tell me if either of those three times are OK ? I think none -204 is obvious- but wanted to be sure before going again on that track... please ? Juts to say, those would be ok with the french community -I know... lol-.

Link Video

Thanks a lot !

I just made the same mistake again !!! Just did a 2'17.469 but at one moment I have three tires on the wobbler (the red and white things on the road...?) but looks like the one Glubags did in the first challenge (I ll record that too...)
I am stuck at 2'17 and every time I ll have one tire which won't listen... So frustrating !...

Do you need my data too ???

I'm all for it... and I'll be willing to help out in any way possible.

You can count me as an emphatic 'yes' vote!

👍

I watched all three videos and the '204' video is the only one that seems 'ok' to me. The problem is the the camera isn't behind the car so it is hard to tell where the tires are in relation to the road. Someone else would have to give their opinion on these laps.

I'm submitting my time now. I was finally able to not mess up on the final two turns while leading my ghost... and that resulted in me breaking into the 2'15s. There is still plenty of room for improvement. I think 7 or 8 tenths could be shaved off if I didn't over/undershoot my breaking points - and even more time could be saved if I was better at controlling the throttle during the turns. But I don't have enough patience left and I'm feeling a bit satisfied at the moment.

BTW - my son isn't submitting a time for this challenge. He was quite busy with schoolwork and he had a big tennis meet/matches all yesterday. He is back with his mother today, so he'll have to miss this challenge.

Great driving, Detroitbb! 👍👍
I can only manage a 2'16.4x.

You've definitely improved.

Thanks!

I was stuck at the same time as you all yesterday and most all of today. Then I was able to make fewer mistakes on one lap this evening and got below 2'16. I was very happy.

:D

Well, I really thought I'd have more time to work on this challenge. Turns out I was wrong:(. Work has been insanely busy plus I have a big project in the garage that has yet to be completed. I ended up settling for an extremely slow lap just so I would have a clean one to submit.

Time:2'26.151 :yuck:

I don't know how much time I will have for the remaining challenges, but I'm going to keep diggin at it.

@Glubags: Count me in for season 3. As long as my fingers don't fall off I'm in. Besides someone has to come in last.:)
