2016 Blancpain GT Series Schedule:

April 8-10 — Misano (Sprint)
April 23-24 — Monza (Endurance)
May 7-8 — Brands Hatch (Sprint)
May 14-15 — Silverstone (Endurance)
June 24-25 — Paul Ricard (Endurance)

Aug. 26-28 — Budapest (Sprint)
Sept. 17-18 — Nürburgring (Endurance)
Oct. 1-2 — Barcelona (Sprint)

Pretty heavy schedule to start the season for the teams with 4 races in 6 weeks. http://sportscar365.com/blancpain/bss/misano-to-host-opening-round-of-2016-blancpain-gt-series/
Any idea why they dropped two of the sprint races? My guess is it's a cost thing for the teams?

Kind of disappointed to see two events at the Nurb. Nothing against the place, but there's so many amazing tracks in Europe it seems like a shame to use one twice. Personally, I would prefer to see the Nürb Sprint event moved to somewhere like Zandvoort, Brno, Imola, or even RBR, just for some more variety.

I don't know if I've ever watched GT3 cars at the Hungaroring before...should be interesting.

Again:

Notice that one says "Sprint" and one says "Endurance". Those are actually separate races for the BES and BSS.

Really? Gee, thanks for that

It's still the same 🤬 cars, same 🤬 drivers, on the same 🤬 track. Only difference is one event is longer than the other.

But thanks for pointing that out, what would I do without you

You dont say....

Well excuse me for trying to help people figure out things.

All I was doing was pointing out that those two races at the Nurburing were for a Sprint Series and a Endurance series because for some reason, they got posted together as if they were in one series when they aren't and I thought it was confusing people.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there an Endurance Championship, a Sprint Championship, and the also an Overall Championship?

Yes. That's what I was trying to tell you.

Yes. That's what I was trying to tell you.

BES (Blancpain Endurance Series)
BSS (Blancpain Sprint Series)
I don't need you to tell me anything. Your last 3 posts have been anything but informative.

Not sure if there's a language barrier thing going on here or what. I appreciate your effort, but for real, I can read on my own.

I am fully aware that the Blaincpain GT3 series is a combination of Sprint and Endurance races. I am also fully aware that there is a championship for the Sprint races, and a seperate championship for the Endurance races.

What I am asking is if there is a combined championship...which I'm pretty sure there is.

So, again, thank you for informing me that of the two events held at the Nurb, one is a Sprint event and one is an Endurance. However, despite now possessing this valuable information, it doesn't change my original wish for the Nurb Sprint race to be held at a different track, even though, as you have so clearly and kindly pointed out, the two events at the Nurb are night and day different from one another and won't at all, in any way shape or form, feel like repetition.

Yes, great news. :embarrassed: Bathurst 12 hour can't come quick enough, going to be another good race.

Strength to strength. I love it when first time drivers visit the track. Then, they understand. :)

I'm suffering from the lack of GT racing at this time of year,

I just don't know when they're on. I see Abu Dhabi, Bathurst, Le Mans and then Silverstone. Other than that, I haven't kept up on the schedule. Feels like one race a month.

Are you saying it feels like 1 GT race per month all year long, or just right now?

Right now, it's pretty dry. But at other times of the year, there's a lot more than 1 per month.

Try this website, the guy uploads nearly everything, within a day at the longest, much quicker for popular or major events.

Pirelli World Challenge is a little tough to find since they stopped officially uploading their broadcasts, but Eibach Springs USA started uploading them to their YouTube channel about half way through the season, delayed by about a week to two weeks usually. Hopefully they continue next year, or PWC goes back to posting their races.

And there's also the IMSA series, along with its support series, which are uploaded directly to their website. The TUDOR (Weathertek) races usually go up a day or two after the race. The Continental Tire Sports Car series races are broadcast a week later, so that gets uploaded a day or two after it's been on TV. You can also stream the live races direct from the website.

The overall championship is never really important though. It is like the Endurance Cups in IWSC and V8, it is just a random title added for a certain purpose. (In this case, for teams competing in both the Sprint Series and the Endurance Series).

Overall is never the main focus of Blancpain Championships, it is either the Sprint or the Endurance.

Wondering if I should work on updating my GT3 collage now, or wait until I can find adequate photographs of the 488 and 991 GT3 R.

Cars that will be added:
-Reiter Lamborghini LP560 GT3
-Reiter Lamborghini R-EX
-Lamborghini Huracan GT3
-Mercedes AMG GT3
-Audi R8 LMS '15
-BMW M6 GT3
-Renault RS01 (I know, I know, but I have the other nationally homologated GT3 cars on there, so it's only fair)
-Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 '15 (Evo?)

Images that will be updated:
-Lotus Exige GT3
-Lexus RC-F GT3
-Cadillac ATS-V.R (possibly)
-Bentley Continental GT3 (possibly)
-Mclaren 650S GT3 (possibly)

For those of you who are not familiar with my collage:
