The traffic is just sick, I love it!

Great battle with the 72, I hope it was for position. 👍

Thanks

So I'm sure I missed it and this may be a better question for the IMSA thread (which clearly I missed it there too if it is). But with the GT3 M6 having 585 hp, does this mean that more power is allowed than previous years. I had it of mind that they were still running 485-500hp range.

The Aston has like 600 doesn't it? Meanwhile the McLaren only has 520 right?

Every GT series has its own BoP almost, while most follow the SRO BoP they still have locally added cars BoP'd regionally, Cadillac, Renault RS01, Ginetta to name a few, though I've not found published BoP for any series in a while, in 2012 the Australian GT series had the Corvette at 650BHP,

What is the weight of the M6. The Z4, McLaren and the 911 were/are the lightest. Yes? I think even the Camaro has high hp. The GT-R as well. If the M6 is in the 1350+kg range, I'd think that it'll need that much power.

To back that up, the Camaro GT3 has about 700hp, but weighs about 1,400kg or more IIRC.

Driver should have had his license taken after that "brilliant" move. I had flashbacks to the 2015 Rolex 24. :banghead:

To be fair though, Scuderia Praha should be in the Blancpain series, their car was on pace with the best Blancpain team on the grid, they definitely have the driver line up behind that car, I'm not sure what driver was involved in that crash but Peter Kox who was also driving that car has some of the best talent in multiclass endurance racing known to man, and probably the most experienced on the grid, I couldn't see him putting his name in a line up of numpties,

Perhaps to maintain the essence of "Amateur" level racing that the organizers of the 24h series build from, maybe they should put a clause into the rules saying that GT3 cars require to be 2 years old or more and slow them down a fair bit in BoP, maybe something similar to GTD pace, though that is one class in a series that has 9? Classes on track?

Well I said driver, the team didn't want their car being torn up obviously. The driver, whoever it was, needs to go back to driving school clearly.

And on the Am GT3 note, if you mean last year's IMSA GTD regs (this year they're stock FIA) that were slower than actual GT3, than yeah that'd probably be a good idea. Plus a 1-2 year old car requirement would give a use for the older machinery.

It's actually a 1 race ban. Then they'll think about it.

I agree the driver should have the book thrown at him, but punishing the rest of the team seems a little harsh. How are they responsible for the actions of someone else? Very knee jerk if you ask me.

The team that uploaded the video said in the description:

"Two wrecked cars and one injured driver later, we can only say that we hope Matteo learns from this, since he did not learn from previous crashes. To drive on purpose outside the track is stricktly forbidden, but it did not stop Cressoni. By analysing the TV broadcasting, Cressoni was under stress leading, having second in the race closing the gap every lap, which probably made him make such disastrous decision.

"This was not the only time the Scuderia Ferrari drove outside track on purpose. Several drivers witnessed same thing. This happened with (roughly half the race) to go, not on the last lap. There is a difference in skills between such drivers as Schneider or Stippler and drivers like Cressoni. The first two would never take such a arrogant decision. Too fast a car for a too unskilled driver."

Just checked CBSSN for their programming lineup and there appears to be no highlights for the 12hr on Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday :indiff:. Hopefully they'll have something later in the week when they update the schedule.

But it looks like us Americans will be able to watch the online stream! :D

Erebus lineup confirmed for Bathurst 12 hour.
Bathurst 12 Hour winners Bernd Schneider and Thomas Jaeger will return to the Erebus Motorsport line-up in 2016.

The duo will be joined by fellow AMG drivers Maro Engel and Nico Bastian, with teenager Austin Cindric, and V8 Supercar driver David Reynolds, completing the two-car line-up.

With multiple GT endurance race wins including the 2013 Bathurst 12 Hour, and five DTM Championships to his name, Schneider, will lead the #63 SLS AMG GT3 entry alongside 2014 Allan Simonsen trophy winner, Engel, and 17-year-old American, Cindric.

The sister #36 entry will be piloted by 2013 Bathurst 12 Hour winner Jaeger, ADAC GT Masters driver, Bastian, and V8 Supercar driver and Carrera Cup Champion, Reynolds.

Yeah. Safe to say they want the title back. Renewed feeling in V8s. Betty wants to start the year off right.
