GT Racing - GT1, GT3, Blancpain Endurance Series & National GT SeriesSports Cars

Can I ask exactly why you have a problem with basically anything that isn't GT4? Not trying to be mean, just genuinely curious.
I'd just like something more representative of the production cars. The current T/A cars are about as representative as anything NASCAR uses. GT4 is at a perfect level where the cars are not too extreme, based on the production car, and roughly within the factory body panels without resorting to crazy wide body aero. (one of the reasons I don't care for the new TCR cars)

Personally the racing world needs both. Cars that are more street like but with some teeth (diffuser, wing, splitter), and then cars that are more removed from their street cousins (GT3 and LMGTE). GTE/GT3 is more interesting really. In general a racer with more aero the better, looks crazy as it should. But if its done elegantly that's preferred.

Its not even a real Mustang, just a Tube-frame car with a "Mustang" body (just like the Tube-frames with "Corvette" bodies) so its not even that big a deal for me. If anything, its a perfect example of how outdated and how much of a joke The current T/A cars are.

The T/A1 cars are the joke. Carburetors and some of the car's are from 2001. The 90's cars were higher tech honestly.

So for that reason, do you feel the same way about GT3 as you for TCR? After all, those cars are getting dangerously close to GT1 territory and have loose enough regs that things like the Z4 GT3 can exist.

Its not even the tech, its the fact that EVEN NASCAR finally came to its senses to update and they didn't disappear for a number of years. The series management are trying to Grow a Series that's long fallen from grace yet refuse to advance it forward (something that happened with the Merger of both American Open Wheel and American Sports Car racing). Putting together a old Spec Tube-Frame and slapping a floppy new body on it isn't really "new".

Again, it really says something when a sanctioning that's been criticized for being stuck in the past has done more to make some advancements then what was basically a Road Racing Series.

I do like TCR, I won't deny that some things about GT3 need to be reigned in (like GTE engine regs at the least, while the Z4 was amazing, it was a bit strange that it was allowed a V8. At least it was available in the M3? :P ). TCR is great, like a mini-DTM in a good way, but there should be a GT4 equivalent underneath them, something that's less crazy and more traditional touring car possibly.

Exactly, Trans-Am are not helping themselves with their car situation at the moment. It's bad when NASCAR has more electronics in their car than yours.

GT3 isn't super crazy though either. And that class is mainly composed of higher end cars anyway. I just have no interest in T/A as it currently stands. If they were closer to production based cars then I would be interested.

They need a new car. The Continental is showing it's age.
I still like them and I don't get to see them much, even as a road car.
This will be the 1st year for me to see the new Mercedes. 👍

The Continental GT road car concept debuted in 2002 and the car itself in 2003. That's 14 years old now... And I thought the GT-R was the old guy

The article said it's good to go until 2021, that would be way old, even older than say.............Godzilla..............and I don't mean the car. ;)

Damnit! I just don't like David Wall and that's a good lineup.

David Wall's not driving it, though? :P

His team and also two of the GT-Rs.

David Wall has nothing to do with the Objective Racing McLaren. That's Tony Walls team.

David has the two GTR's (as you mentioned) and he did have a Class B (?) Porsche.

Panoz to PWC with 2 Avenhoweveritsspelled....

It's a GT4 car and I already posted it in the other thread. Yet again we can't decide where to put GT4 stuff. LOL :P Wonder if I should add GT4 to the title of the other thread...

Aha, have you got a link to a more informative article? The article I read didn't say it what class it actually was in...

GT4? That sucks, considering the last I seen on Panoz Facebook was it was either going to be GTE/ GTLM or GT3,

Well it kinda fits in either thread so:
