GT Racing - GT1, GT3, Blancpain Endurance Series & National GT SeriesSports Cars

They'll make 2 or 3. It'll have about as much to do with the ATS road car as the Conti Camaro does with it's road car (so basically nothing). At least this one is GT3 regulated

.....ignoring that. Wish Ford would make a GT3 Mustang.
If not Ford, then someone else in the same vein that Callaway, Reiter/SaReNi and Alpina did.

Wouldn't mind seeing Saleen return to racing...

And on the Cadillac's note, one option we could see is the similar customer format Pratt & Miller have with their Corvette's, selling the older models off to privateer's after a year. This would open the door to customer Caddy's, though not a huge proliferation of them.

So apparently ART will run this beauty in 2015.

On another note, I wonder who's going to win the Turbo vs. Displacement era that GT3 is heading into.

I have a distinct feeling that the 911/991 GT3-R's development was frozen because of not only GT Convergence Talks, but also the likelihood that Ferrari, BMW and Mercedes would all possibly be switching to Turbo motors. Here's the breakdown:

Turbo:
Ferrari "458-T" (or whatever they end up calling it)
Mercedes-AMG GT
BMW M6
Bentley Continental
Nissan GT-R
Cadillac ATS-V.R
McLaren 650S*
Future Rumored British GT3 Car that isn't a Jaguar

Displacement/Cylinders:
Dodge Viper GT3-R
Audi "R8 V10" (or whatever they end up calling it)
Lamborghini Huracan*
Aston Martin V12 Vantage
Chevrolet Camaro
Chevrolet Corvette

In the grey:
Lexus RC-F
Future Porsche
Possible Jaguar

Isn't the 650S to replace the 12C in the near future? I'm not sure when this is supposed to happen though.

Lexus has a 540hp 5L V8 in the RC F GT3.

Yep, thus putting it the grey area. While I have full faith in the FIA in making it competitive, having the smallest displacement NA engine without the benefit of extra cylinders puts it in the grey area.

Grey area =/= noncompetitive area, simply that it isn't categorized with the other two groups.

Its been testing for quite a while now. Its times that were reported by Japanese drivers were on par with the best gt3's in gt300 at Okayama.

Possibly or it could be the new aston GT3 car with an AMG turbo V8 or indeed a noble m600 gt3 or a mclaren 650s or something else..... :sly:
No new Aston coming (and they wouldn't ever use an AMG V8, I think)...Noble not interested in racing...Mclaren already coming...must be the Lotus.

Okay so I never heard of a Noble racecar lol.

And since we're talking next few years with this mystery car...it can't be one of the Aston's.
