That is the whole problem with the curbs being flatter than they should be, with them flatter you can hit them with much less 'penalty' as you would with steeper curbs. Less trees makes no difference except probably to the frame rate. ;)

Yeah, I didn't see it that way, you're absolutely right. Still, for a game whose main point of discussion in the past 145 pages here has been about how good it looks, I couldn't help but bring that point out.

Remember the Ring had some awful looking background sections in the launch trailer that were then updated so I wouldn't worry too much about the trees, the kerbs are definitely too flat though. In reality it looks like you can't really use them at all because of their height but the game ones look much easier to ride.

It could also be an illusion from the camera angle. We will have to see when the game comes out.

Green hell looks amazing and more beautiful in the game but real life is still somehow better :indiff:

Depends on what you mean by 'taking off'. The new Titan X can do just about any modern, demanding game at 4k/60fps with near max settings and as always, that sort of performance will be available for $300-400 within one or two years. And that price point is fairly well represented in the PC market. I think even as of 2015, there were over ten million users with GTX970/R9 290-minimum level PC's out there, which is quite a lot. So it certainly wont be long before 4k becomes popularized on the PC scene.

I think the Xbox Scorpio will probably bring genuine, native 4k gaming to console users by the end of next year. Its stated target specs should put it pretty much right in the ballpark for 4k/30fps with reasonably high settings.

PS5 generation will certainly bring about the next 'giant leap' in terms of the raw graphics involved, though.

According to this vdieo 1200$ titan X pascal is not able to handle all games at 60fps and it is a 11teraflops gfx card.

That is why I think Sony should simply focus on 1080P for PS4.5 as well. They can easily hit all the games at 60 and 90fps and have better aliasing, texture filtering too.

Sad to see Poly doesn't know how to sell its game on the graphics side. IMO, graphics in GTSport are "better" (finer?) than in Forza 6. But when Turn 10 shows Rio with lots of colors, trackside objects and great panoramas, Poly shows one of the worst tracks in GT history, so depressing.

I agree. Forza puts a lot of graphical power into the stuff going on around the track so that it feels like it's alive. Sometimes it's a bit overdone and cheesy, but Rio is a good example. It feels like a showcase race in the middle of a festival. Having crowds and banners and helicopters and panoramic views over the bay feels great.

There's more to tracks than just the ribbon. The surroundings play a big part in making the player feel like they're on a real track.

Let's remember that Scapes are basically in-game photoshops. Lighting on the GT one is really nice though.

The expressway track looks alright to me, could work as a good photolocation at night *wangan midnight feels start*, but, I will say it again, more racing enviroment and that track will look awesome :)

In Forza, some scripts are too repetitive but it gives so much life to the track. I see with each new build more and more fans. For example, the grandstands at Brands Hatch were empty and now they are full of fans. It's far better than GT6 but not enough. I'd like to see flags, smoke from BBQ, pitlane full of activity, helicopters...

Since the PS3 era, tracks from Poly looks "empty". I think the HD takes all the power against trackside objects. On PS2, there were many signages, details on and around the track. On PS3 tracks were lifeless. It was okay on the PS3 because dynamic TOD/weather, not anymore.

At max settings, no. If we went by max settings, then the base PS4 would be doing something like 14fps in most games.

You can do a good combination of High/Ultra in most cases(and an occasional medium if necessary, especially with poor value shadow settings) and get a substantial increase in framerates without affecting fidelity much at all in most cases if you know the least bit about what you're doing.

Quite. The thing about the curbs at the Nurb is that they all have their own individual character and many of them come with a real risk/reward possibility. If you hit them just right you can take a straighter line through a corner and gain some time but if you hit them wrong, you are bounced around and lose grip and time. If the curbs are flattened that risk/reward gets lost and it encourages people to simply throw two wheels up on the grass and try and straightline every corner. It also makes for very unrealistic looking replays. Assetto Corsa has this aspect of the track nailed IMO. I haven't micro analyzed every curb to be able to know they are all perfectly accurate, but it's much more difficult to ride them than it was in GT6 for sure.

You seem hell bent on proving that 4k is impossible on consoles in the near future. You aren't comparing apples to apples. Games on console, especially from AAA devs, are much more highly optimized than they are on pc because pc games have to run on every single combination of CPU/GPU. So in an apples to apples comparison spec wise, equal specs on the console will produce much better results vs. pc. Settings can also be turned down and so can framerates. 4k at 30 fps is easily possible on the new XBone Scorpio with medium to high settings in a game that is optimized to take advantage of the hardware.

I would say it's all but confirmed.
They said that they were feeding data about the car straight into the game. The only thing missing is them saying it's in the game.

Not enough proofs? I understand we must be very careful with Poly... You think like mathematician lol but you are right in the end.

Poly didn't talk about the scan of the Ferrari.

There's apparently been a massive de-forestation in PD's universe...
Well I get your point of "de-forestation" but I believe the word massive is a bit too much for the trees that are missing
This: is a video that's been recorded this year in June(skip to 1:43 for nurgburgring circuit).

Notice that the camera angle from the IRL footage is more on the bottom then the GT Sport footage. And that on the same side there is missing trees.

You can compare them here's the GT SPORT footage:
