People like that prime example above are the main reason I lose out by simply avoiding online play in this Beta, After the crap experiences I had in the few races I entered in the Beta early days I have no option but to settle for the repetitively boring yet stress free hotlapping instead I know for sure I'd just exit the race and wait the 20 minutes.. just to see the same dick is there in the next race ready to continue where he left off and he usually brings a few of his mates to the party for good measure.

The best addition to any online Gran Turismo game is the 'Private Lobbies' option and they can't come soon enough for my liking 👍

Three more nice races from yesterday.

First one at Dragon Trail Seaside, battle between GTR and my Scirocco. He was definately a lot faster on corner exits but the Scirocco is a lot faster again on the corner entries and straights. But only when he made a mistake I could easily pass him at the beginning of the straight already and stay ahead after that.



Another one at Dragon Trail Seaside, close battle during the whole race with @turnupdaheat. Same race he posted, just from my view. It was all down to the last corner at the end of the race with a very close finish.



And another Scirocco battle with @Lord Protector, this time on the Nurburgring Nordschleife. Was a good race where I stayed close pretty much the entire time. Didn't think it was safe to pass on the long fast section in the middle of the track so I stayed behind there. Then at the final straight with slipstream I made the pass. Thought he'd still come next to me for the final corners since he was in my slipstream again and was definately fast enough but he stayed behind for the last few corners so I was able to take the win.

Waiting on the Grp4 race to start, only got online in time to run one race there.

Seeing N300 was going to be a Willow as well, I dropped in there to mess around.

Then I really started goofing off...

The car reset back to the track, right after this shot...

Managed to pull off a nice drift, left rear in the dirt, and right at this track side camera...

Years have passed since my last post here (I did not like the turn that the discussions had taken and the quality of the forum in general, but now it seems that the situation is a bit better:tup

Unfortunately, only recently with v.1.06 I was able to try the beta and I have to say that I'm loving it.

I'm a big fan of the photomode and I've already saved many pictures. I put some of my favorites ( or the most interesting)

Heat haze effect?

Regarding the online experience I have contrasting opinions.
I found the netcode really great, my ping is between 30 and 40 with no lag, teletrasportations, etc... but the quality of the players is really bad the most of the time. There is no fair play at all:tdown:👎

Meant to post this video earlier. The only grp4 race I could make last night, and seen a guy, I haven't seen in a while @mobilmasher Good run man!
Little mess ups on the first lap lost me some time, but was able to catch back up. Just in time for me to mess it up again. I put way too much pressure on myself sometimes.

Trying my best to make sure one doesn't ruin the race of many.

Great lap and great video - seeing that corvette pushed at ten-tenths looks incredible!

A few things I notice about 1.06:

-lots of chassis noise throughout the entire lap
-seeing masses of chassis movement, and hearing it literally banging around as it moves - nice physics/sound improvement:tup:
-hearing the tire's reaction to the chassis movements as they gain/lose grip.
-the exhaust crackling amid all the other sounds.
-looks like off track consequences are more dramatic to the car - I have no doubt that at launch, we'll have consequences on the level or better than GT6 with SRF off.

From :30 to :38 you can see/hear the tires and chassis fighting for grip coming very fast out of the corner.


These details paired together looks like a great evolution since day one beta - makes me wonder though, the above list couldn't have only been created/implemented in the last three months, could it? Could these things have been planned for development all along?
