Yup, the lighting looks bland. It doesn't look like it has any GI and the AO also looks off. Shadows are very light and thats why cars dont exactly look planted to the road. But damn those trees have taken a huge step forward (probably the highest LOD reserved for photomode) etc. Very weird seeing some very high quality elements when the curb on the karussel still has very low poly count.

I'm expecting that things will improve as development continues but even at its current level, it doesn't look bad just very average.

The lighting looks great. There's no way to judge GI indirect light-bounce from the little bit of footage we've seen, and what we've seen already looks better than other racing games, including Driveclub which has GI.

Come to think of it, that Audi R8 Racecar in the trailer was revealed in real life recently right? It already looks to be a fully modeled car in about I dunno, 2 months? I kinda know because I believe it's in PCars next update.

Does this mean the time taken to get a car into GT has reduced because of the PS4 and the additional employees?

Maybe so, I'm just speculating here.

Makes me wonder what they will show at PSX (since they are bound to be there at this point). A playable demo? Some of the new cars? Who knows?

*grabs popcorn and waits for someone to research some evidence*

That is a really interesting theory though! What about the other cars? Prime example, the new MX-5. I'm not sure when that was unveiled, but it certainly hasn't been out long. Unless PD have access to the cars several months prior to their unveiling.

If I had to guess when we would see the first trailer for Gran Turismo 7, I would say around this time next year or early 2017.

No one outside of Polyphony Digital's circle knows though. We can keep in mind that a long time ago (around November of 2014) we were told that it is in development.

Some disagreed that it was, some agreed while others were on the fence. I dont't have a hard time believeing that a game company is actually developing a new title though.

Back inline, Gran Turismo 6 has been somewhat lacking regarding focus it seems, which can allude to redirection of focus to GT7 (If they will even call it that), as some have pointed out.

Bottom line though is we don't even know when a trailer will release, so we must all be PATIENT. I understand the hype, because we are all passionate about Gran Turismo series. It has been an important part of MOST of our everyday lives, for years.

We live in a world where it's all about speed, and advancement. Sometimes it's better to take it slow. We feel like we have to have something as soon as it releases, or we need to know when but the best gifts are those that surprise you.

I know I'm a loser and I have no one to talk to because I'm replying to my own post.

BUT, goodness I was WAAYYY off with this prediction for the first trailer. LOL

Edit:Loser, instead of looser

Well since it seems no one has brought it up I guess I will. Standards. What about them, will PD get rid of them, or do something similar to GT5P where they weren't included, but will be included in GT7?

The R8 LMS in GTS was the one that won the Nürburgring 24H in May. That's five months to model the car which is about on par with PD's usual modelling time, if slightly faster than the average of six months. (Then again, it's also possible that they had modelled the new R8 LMS even earlier than that and they just applied the livery of the N24-winning car on the model later on.)

That's if they even make a GT7. The franchise may be known as GT Sport from now on, we just don't know. As for the standards, well Kaz certainly supported their presence. We will have to wait and see. I'd rather they go to be honest, but you know what PD are like...

GT Sports having a partnership with the FIA makes me think that there won't be standards in GT Sport.

However, if GT Sports is a Prologue type deal, we may see standards in GT7. Now although that would be disappointing, I could probably see PD's reasoning behind it.

As I have been saying for the past months, Driveclub cars are coming to GT since sony has the rights to those cars, so expect all those nice looking Driveclub cars in GT Sport.

The PS4 itself has nothing to do with the time it takes for PD (or any company) to model the cars, since they're not doing it on the system.

The car was shown shortly after the road-going one was shown at the beginning of the year, so it's still been a while.

The ND showed up in Forza back in March, so while they definitely had access to it pre-release for modelling purposes, that was 7 months ago, so PD might've too. Or not.

That makes a lot of sense actually , and DC has great cars ... Are the new bikes coming too?

I'd like to see some proof of this. You could also explain why DC isn't filled with the GT roster, too.

That's not how licensing works.
