You should have known this will happen...
No worries, I knew excatly what I was getting myself into. Happens when you hit the weak spot in others. ;)

I simply can't believe TokoTurismo. Dude's got a freakin' time machine and what does he use it for? Not visiting the past, appreciating bygone cultures and seeing history come to life before his very eyes. Not going to the future to gain foreknowledge on potential catastrophical disasters and help the entire human race. Not even going to Nazi Germany in the 1930s and killing Hitler, saving millions of innocent lives. No, the only use he has for a time machine is going back to the recent past and complaining about future racing games on internet forums before they were released.
lol. You want me to currupt time? Don't be silly...

When you travel back in time you can't disturb the time continuum, just people.

Where is tesselation? :irked:
Also common "next-gen" shadow dithering :embarrassed:

No reason you'd see tesselation there.

Based on the wording around this Sport title, it seems like it will be very similar to the GT Academy, on a larger scale. I'm expecting this to either be separate from, or part of the next 'proper' GT title, being GT7. If not, then it's all a little confusing at this point... Either way, I'll be keeping a close eye on the PSX for more details.

That's a good way of putting it, a sort of GT Academy with a wider scope - others have referred to an "iRacing for consoles", GTS could perhaps end up being some sort of mix between the two.

(Shamelessly) reposting from another thread:

First of all and most importantly, DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Anyway..........I'm agreed with @Johnnypenso, it sounds like this will be an offshoot from the main series - and it probably won't be Gran Turismo as we know it.

What it will be is pure guesswork for now, but "iRacing for consoles" sounds like a good bet. It's going to be focused on motorosports, obviously - I have a feeling to accommodate this the car count will be much reduced. And if this is a pure offshoot game not having a single player portion at all, a la iRacing, seems likely. Features like the course maker, B-spec, or even photo mode, which don't have much or any purpose for online championships, probably won't be put into GTS. Would expect community features to remain (but stuff like racing teams instead of car clubs).

Basically, my initial hunch is GTS will be small in physical size, but grand in ambition and vision, in a typical PD style..............I think it will be a precursor to a GT7, but given its unique direction (well unique for PD anyway), I don't think it would be wise to consider GTS as a GT7 Prologue, in any sense apart from the nature of the PS4 game engine. If there does end up being a separate GTS and GT7 on PS4, I think they will be very different in content, attitude, structure and progression.

Of course PD being PD I don't think I've ever correctly guessed what they are going to do next, so the most likely thing of all is to expect the above to be completely wrong..... :D

I think one of the most important things to bear in mind at this stage is, if GTS is going to be a pure offshoot game from the main series, with this unique vision - and a more 'traditional' GT7 ends up on PS4 at some later point - be very careful in considering GTS as a GT7 Prologue. With GTS appearing to have this singular focus, I'd say it's likely the whole shape of the game will not be something we're used to with the GT series, and a lot of features/content may appear differently, or not be present. This would make judging how well PD is listening to user feedback and suggestions pretty difficult - if certain things aren't addressed (or addressed in an unexpected way) in GTS, I don't think that'll necessarily mean they won't be addressed in a GT7.

It's all just guesswork at this stage, but I think we'll have to avoid framing the debate in terms of how a 'normal' Gran Turismo would/should look like; we'll need to approach it from a different angle, which should make the development of GTS very interesting to follow.

And lastly, I think the other important, mature and sensible point to bear in mind is OMG IT LOOKS SO GOOD I'M SO EXCITED MORE MORE MORE I WANT IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!:drool::drool: :D:D:D :gtpflag:

I'd rather it was a reboot to the franchise in all honesty. The FIA partnership is one of the primary new features, but the game itself will hopefully retain the formula we a familiar with. That fact it isn't called GT7 would merely be part of the 'revival' of the brand.

That was what really surprised me. GT has always been good with lighting, when Forza's car always looked plastic. However in this trailer everything looks decidedly matt and washed out. I'm hoping there some reason for this, as you touched upon.

I agree it's early days and we need to see more but after so many years in development I'm worried because seriously NFS is a quantum leap in realism and expert lighting over everyone else. I just expected more from a first party dev with full access to push the PS4.

^ Looks like GT6, slightly more polished.

^Looks pretty impressive IMO, even better in motion.

Maybe we ought to compare similar environments and lighting conditions..

Sadly, we can't have good news in the GT series without the same old GTP members coming over and causing arguments.

Heck, Toko thinks the game will be trash, even though it hasn't been released yet. Stay classy.

What do those people gain exactly anyway?

Nothing, it just stops them grinding their teeth for ten minutes.

That wasn't what I meant by "hitting the weak spot", but okay. Not trying to troll so I'm ending it here before things get worse, like always which is why I hardly come to view it. It's known for war zones.

Okay, cya next time! But bring some facts with you, we kinda like that.

"I'm ending it here before it gets worse"

Need I remind you that you pretty much started all of this off?
Duuur. That's why I said I'm ending it, yet you want to keep it up because it what brings you entertainment in the GT section you. LOL! No seriously, drop it.

Good to see the next Gran Turismo game for the PS4 finally being announced. The only problem is that I don't have a PS4. :( With how things are going on right now so far, I should have one by December.

Yet you want to start it again because it entertains you. Drop it.

Haha, you're hilarious.

'Drop it?'

How about no?

And stop being so damn hypocritical. From what I've seen on my relatively short time on GTP, you usually come to GT threads (excluding the Whining and Crying thread) and whine about things that PD actually get right.

Obviously, the sounds won't improve, because Toko played GTS before it even released.

Obviously, the game won't be fun, as Toko has a time machine that allows him to play GTS before any confirmation of its release date.

Your behaviour is comparable of that of 11 year old, immature fanboys who fight over what console is better.

Clearly, you're the one who finds amusement in all of this.
