I'm also waiting for those Forza/XBOX fanboys to start trashing GT and say how awful it looks. Even though the ONE X is more powerful than the PS4 Pro by a long shot.
You mean like selecting in game shots under the worst possible conditions and comparing them to trailers in order to make one game look better than the other?

That's the worst model from a development point of view, even more when it's Kaz  I understand now all the delays.

I'm not 100% sure on the development cycle of video games, but it seems that they are really disappointed with themselves regarding the optimization/quality of the PS3 titles (even though they sold a ton of copies) -- there was so much potential with those games that didn't get realized on PS3.

That does make me wonder how other devs. allocate time between design/development/optimization/production/etc. though.

I am glad that they are spending this extra year to refine GT Sport - I don't want another game that's all about potential. GT Sport looks to be the level of game that I expected from PS3 GT titles. Also, I think we may end up getting a few extra cars/tracks as a result 👍.

I'm just here to comment how amazing that looks.

Forza/GT's fine in the way they choose a more laid back, mainstream approach to its races (obviously there things that can be improved). But, it's hard to deny wondering if the franchises' reception would improve even more if they started trying to replicate the gritty, in-your-face euphoria of racing SMS has managed to recreate. They really seem to get what it's like being in the middle of the action of living, breathing race track.

The function chosen by Kaz (exponential). In terms of delays, it's an eye opener if he's really serious.
Not only, the longer they wait, the better the game will be with no limit in time. But also, each additional week of development provides more results than the previous week.

It's what happens when you're too loyal to a company's product and attempt to downgrade the other in favour of their product, while at the same time being blinded by the other's strengthens and ignoring your favorite's weaknesses.

Really this whole thread is one big amusement for people outside of GTPlanet, as some comparisons posted by a 'certain member' here were a joke and simply weren't fair at all. Instead they bashed the other based on 'looks' and what 'looked' bad. At the end of the day, you're still playing a video game sir...

I thought the whole point in racing games was the 'driving' aspect and how the cars behaved, not stairing at stupid trees or whatever. That is where @Scaff comes in to share his knowledge on a game's physics, and how it compares to real life driving. Need more people like Scaff who doesn't always defend their beloveded or throw a tendrem when it gets criticized.

IMO, the thrill in racing games comes from car culture, driving, and modifying cars to your liking/making them competitive against the competition. This was GT's idea back in the day that inspired games like Forza, but to see it get dropped in GT Sport is what made me turn away from the franchise in the first place, and the fact that the 'fun factor' it once had is now gone imo.

To think I used to defend this franchise with my horrible grammar back then... Oh how time flies.

How do you expect people to be able to read that? One capital letter and not a single full stop.
What happened to freedom of speech, democracy etc,am i not allowed to voice or in this case type my opinion on what is going on in gt sport or forza 7???
As for my text being unreadable i apologize, that came straight from the heart on the screen as i typed my view on things, were not in school cause i leave everyone else in their value, democracy right, freedom of speech????
But hey e3 was enlightening and provided the direction that the race genre needs to be,looks like the path t10 is taking is paying off as for gt sport, sadly i made a promise to a good friend of mine in the uk that we would drive together on gt sport, had i not made that promise i wouldn't have bought it unless it's in the budget salesbin imo!!!

It's not really an issue of freedom of speech, it's more so an issue of readability. Personally, when I come across three paragraphs of bad grammar, I just skip over the post altogether. It seems like more trouble than its worth to piece together the overall message of the post.

Your are free to express your self in anyway you want as long as it's within the AUP. However, when you write in such a way you are taking away your own freedom of speech by making it almost impossible for people to read your words ;)

You agreed to use decent grammar when you joined the site. That includes punctuation and not neglecting the shift key. 👍

These are great comparisons, if only the thread had started this way.

GTS's shaders and lighting still have the edge when it comes to materials and surfaces. I hope Forza isn't going to come in for criticism when it comes to the different gearstick handle in the second car when the GT speedometer looks completely different. It looks to me like it's just different trim options in both cases.

I think they look different because the Corvette in GT is a manual, whereas the Vette in Forza appears to be an automatic (note the paddles on the Forza picture have a + and -, but on the real life and GT pictures, it says 'rev match'). As well as this, the Vette in GT appears to be in track mode (hence why the speedometer looks different), and both the GT and real life Vettes are normal C7 Stingrays; the Forza version, on the other hand, is a Z06.

Now that's how a comparison is done. 👍

It shows GT still has the edge in terms of shaders and textures, though the gap is far less than it was last generation. It's also worth pointing out that's FM6, not FM7. My biggest qualm with the FM6 Miata is the weathered steering wheel centre cap: did somebody cast an aging spell on it?! The handbrake isn't looking so hot, either.

For me, the slight trade-off in terms of graphics is more than made up for by the fact the FM7 car list is 3.5x the size of GT Sport's. Plus, Forza games have the under-the-panels modelling that GT (so far) has lacked on anything outside of the WRC cars in the PS3 era. Hoods, doors, trunks — they open. I think the models are more than good enough to explore in-game and give you the general idea of what the car is like.

That said, nothing can fool unaware friends like a GT shot. I really hope PD introduces some sort of Forzavista-like experience in GT Sport to let people really explore every nook and cranny. Photomode folks eat that stuff up.

Nice comparison @okami11408

GTS textures really capture that real-to-the-touch look. Looking at the steering wheel on the MX-5, GTS really shines when capturing the accuracy of the hard and soft plastics. FM has a metal shine to it. And looking all around the interior (door panels/center console/dashboard) GTS is on another level in terms of quality. On the area where the top of the center console meets the floor paneling in the Vette, you can really see the switch to the carpet material.
Interior Comparison, GT Vs Forza Vs Real
Can I ask where the FM photos were taken? I ask because I know that the GTS interior shots came directly from Scapes, directly from PD. So the GTS shots are GTS at its very best, with possibly a little embellishment from PD.

If ForzaVista is FM at its best, we should be looking at those against the GTS Scape photos. If not we are giving an unfair advantage to GT Sport. Or, as @queleuleu said maybe that's not possible because the cars can't be moved into brghter lighting in the one ForzaVista location that is available -- having more Vista locations and the ability to move the car would definitely help FM7 not have that "same-y" feeling llke in FM5/6.

A better representation of Forza might be this pic, although its a different car:

M8, that looks like real life(maybe even better than GT Sport).
And is the Lamborghini Centenario's infotainment screen that funky lookin?

Luckily Turn 10 appear to be on the case if this report is accurate:

This sounds great:
"Forzavista is also back, and cars can now be explored across both the usual array of homespaces and every track available in Forza Motorsport 7. That’s a lot of new locations to take advantage of Forzavista"

It looks like the textures on FM's Miata are too exaggerated, if that's the right term. It could be a shading problem. It's almost the complete opposite of some of the textures in GT models which seem too smooth at times.

Bearing in mind the difference between their and PD's approaches to audio ("brash" vs "understated") I suspect the exaggerated textures might be a stylistic choice on T10's part.

Here's Automobile magazine's shot of the Centenario's interior for comparison btw:
