Completely different times of day. The second shot has much longer shadows and accentuated normal maps, showing more detail because of the lower sun angle.

1080p doesn't make it worse, my pics Forza are 1080p too lol. Funny that you compare xbox one s with the ps4 pro above with both in photomode and overexposed Forza picture. All you do is post photomode shots from GTS where it is native 4K and oversampled. Also look at the track texture on Le Mans in GTS in the pciture you posted. Do you think that looks good? Even with the overexposed Forza picture you can clearly see more blades and better texture in Forza even with 1080p vs 4k.

FM7 native 4k screenshots downsampled in 1080p for ultra IQ vs native 1080p screenshots purposely stretched to 4k for GTS... please we are not stupid...

I think they're talking about the the aliasing issue.

You can keep pretending it was on purpose, but how would you know that? He cant take 4k photos if he doesn't have a 4k TV. Either way The only thing that is changed with his point that changes with the resolution is the Aliasing

Lets re-read what was said
Forza has higher quality textures, higher quality car model, better texture filtering, better reflections, better weather, better shadows, better track side details and draw distance.
The transition from 4k to 1080p will likely only be changing the draw distance. The changes in resolution seems to affect polygonal models, so it's unlikely to change texture, reflections, weather, shadows. Trackside details still looked good on his GTS photo regardless.

And it certainly does not make a ps1 game a ps4 game:lol:

In his photos it is clear that everything is blurred, made just to make the game worse:D
The images aren't blurred. They're 1080p but stretched to 4K. If you view them at full 4K size/zoom then yes, they don't look as sharp, but at 1080p size/zoom they look just like any other 1080p shots.

No, that's not the case. You need to start actually reading.

PS4 Pro is upscaling GTS to 4k yet hes only playing on a 1080p TV. He can't take pictures higher than that because hes taking photos using a 1080p TV, but they are being upscaled because of the PRO. If you look at the photo at or near the regular resoultion it should be it, its not blurry.

This is 1600x900

41558664485_697c844eea_k.jpg

This is a slightly higher resolution at 2048x1152

For some reason Flickr doesn't have a 1920x1080 for this, yet either way, both are clear with the one with the higher resolution looking slightly worse because its being expanded.

It's the trees. The tree's are better, That's why he posted it. Jokes aside, the texture on the GTS track looks like they just got the original and smeared it over like butter, it even looks like the white lines are in motion which is a bit odd.
he post it because it's a direct comparison of the track and not a comparison of the zoomed backdrops, yes here the forza looks simply ridiculous and it's not just the trees. and the motion effect in gts was due to the scuffs of the bands

No, that's really not why he posted it. He's saying that the poster wouldn't post it because it doesn't look as good as GTS, that's it. @emula is famous for using ridiculously zoomed in photos to try to make something worse than it is, that's what you fail to understand when you keep chiming in.

Forza looks bad because of the lighting. As far as the track surface goes, both are pretty bad. Texture is actually visible in Forza, yet looks dull meanwhile GTS looks like smeared butter.

OMG wtf are you guys for real. Its literly 1080p vs 1080p, switching to priority will not make the shadows, textures, car model, reflections and environment better. At 1080p GTS gets motion blur and back fire. It also runs at stable 60fps unlike the other mode so its helpin GTS.

What they're failing to realize is that maximizing the photo to the 4k resolution is blowing it out of proportion making it look crappy. What needs to be realized is that the photo needs to be viewed in its original 1080p state, which I tried to portray up above but FlickR doesn't have the option when uploading 4k images for some reason.

Yeah that was my problem too. other wise i wanted to upload them both at 1080p.

Understand that somebody makes qualitaty comparisons and it's still blamed for it, and somebody is trying to prove that the forza on pc with max setting has the better resolution of textures and shadows, but still looks like a diarrhea against the lighting of the GTS. DF or Team VVV it's was already said, but still someone needs to find a car in the GTS with the worst lod (or bugged as on WRX and FT-1) and prove that they are wrong.

a 1080p image downsapled from 4K looks tons better than a simply 1080p native image.... PS4 pro support downsampling from 4K on 1080p TV but he prefer posting native 1080p screenshot whitout downsampling to make GTS looks worse

GTS doesn't run native 4K.

Yeah when something in GTS looks worse its bugged, but when something in Forza looks worse its how it is lol.

Except that the person that you keep saying makes quality comparisons has blatantly posted false hoods and misleading information a good majority of times of making a comparison with any game that’s not GT. He’s infamous for it actually. Saying it over again doesn’t make it any more true.

it being a pc or a one x it doesn’t matter, you’ll be seeing the same thing. The lighting has nothing to do with resolution or shadows either so let’s not pretend here. However, to say diarrhea is a massive overstatement and proves your agenda. No major title out right now looks bad in any way, it sounds stupid to me to keep acting like it does.

He can’t use a 4K because his tv is 1080p! It’s not a preference, it’s a restriction caused by hardware. Stop projecting your own terrible agenda in other people. Why not try viewing the actual image as a 1080p image instead of blowing it up.

VXR
As a long term Forza advocate, lighting and graphics definitely aren't that series' strong point.

I look in the FM7 thread once in a while and recoil in horror against GTS.
GTS has a lot more naturalness to its lighting engine, making it more easier to get those great shots. Forza takes some getting used to as the primitive setting aren’t the best.

However, you do the veterans much descredit with what they can accomplish with an inferior photomode and lighting.

The screen posted by Turk1993 is not a 1080p downsampled because if it was it will look much better and sharper plus is very compressed, the game how it looks on ps4 pro hasn't nothing to do with that screen lol, what he is he trying to achieve ?

he can use 4K on 1080p TV enabling the super sampling from the game options.... less member war and more basic knowledge please

I know it’s not. I never said it was had you bothered to read even the post you quoted. The PS4 pro is up scaling since it’s not native 4K, but because he’s restricted to a 1080p setting all it’s doing is blowing up the photo to 4K and distorting the 1080p resolution. Simple solution to that is to view the image in a 1080p resolution in your own. It’s not misleading and it was obvious since his first reply of what settings he used.

The thing is both games in photomode they were look polished since there is post-processing render going on while you took the photo. The better comparison in my opinion would be a gameplay footage since it shows what game capable of visual prowess without any additional rendering effect or such thing. Replay is fine I guess but it has the same case with photomode being visually polished and perfected.

Both have their pros and cons. I think that GTS has a better, "softer" general look and the lighting engine, most of the times, is a wonder (the bloom effect at sunset or the "tunnel run" at Tokyo are visually very impressive), but worse in terms of shadows and reflections, which are more detailed and with a higher refresh rate in Forza (Talking about FM6 but I expect FM7 to be equal or very close to its predecessor). I also don't remember any major draw-distance cut off in Forza, but in GTS is a really evident measure used to mantain the framerate as stable as possible (For example, Conrod Straight at Bathurst just disappears in the mirrors). So yeah, both are trying their best with the current hardware and anyone who tries to tell you that one game is absolutely superior no matter what is just trying to hide some things under the carpet.
In reality draw distance is better on GT...

You’re positive he doesn’t have it on? If so please show us the difference in the Veneno with it on and with it off on the same track with yours set to 1080p. You keep claiming he’s wrong but have done nothing to show the difference with your own comparison.

And stop with that absolutely ridiculous member war tosh, these things always start because of you and no one else. If you wouldn’t be a hypocrite so much people wouldn’t have to talk to you like a child. Don’t get mad that people call out your misdoings when you yourself introduced the discussion.

To be fair, that's just the art style/time of day settings of FM7's Nurburgring. The Alps and Dubai tracks have huge draw distances and are shown in more clear weather. GTS might edge it out overall, but it has more pop-in on trees and trackside objects (the start/finish straight on Monza for example) which I would consider to be a draw distance flaw.

Oh great, someone re-lit the dumpster fire...

It's unfortunate that a handful of members see this thread as an excuse to to continue a race to the bottom. Two in particular are simply two sides of the same cherry-picking coin; they grab the best possible examples of their preferred franchises, but never afford any other titles the same care and thought.

One has even used a video of FM7 with Friction Assist on as a representation of the physics. Another uses zoomed-in images of a building in GTS as a representation of an entire track. There's no attempt to be honest, and what's worse, it seems neither one realizes they're doing the same thing, just on different sides of a silly us-vs-them fence.

Then there's stuff like this:

but still looks like a diarrhea

Where hyperbole and feelings are used in place of facts.

Both GT Sport and FM7 look fantastic. PCARS2 has its moments too — yes, it can look pretty basic at times, but it also has time/weather variations that utterly shame the other two. Each developer team has made priorities:
  • PD made the prettiest racer, but it's got the smallest competitor fields, no dynamic time/weather, and no under-hood modelling. It also, at least at launch, had the smallest car lineup.
  • T10 made a good looking game with a focus on sheer car list, a hard locked 60fps, and sort-of-ish dynamic weather.
  • SMS sacrificed out-and-out visuals for living, breathing race tracks, huge fields, and complicated physics.
I know people at Sony that play Forza. I also know people at Microsoft that play GT. If they can enjoy multiple titles, what's the excuse for the ridiculous behaviour around here?

And, as a final note: reporting members simply because they call you out on your hypocrisy is not appreciated.
