Amar:

I finally got to see your 440Mb movie and was wondering why there were lots of breaks in the video flow. In one case, the car was taking a curve going one way, then after the break/cut, the car was taking a curve going the opposite direction. Also, the sound seemed to be a few seconds of sync. I am just curious as to why that was the case.

Thanks for the great look into our future.

Nice vid Amar and thanks for hosting the vid Jordan. :)

If someoone has a death-wish to download an 5GB video in full res to see the resolution difference, let me know:).

Haha, oh yeah baby. That would only take 2 hours or so for me to download. *groar*

Blegh, that could ONLY be possible if you upload the files (split it into alot of .rar files) and upload it to a newsgroup - binariegroup.

But i know you were joking. :)

I hope :/

As I have said, coding has take almost all the important visible details away. It is noticable that right pic has some less flickering, but on the real TV screen you would see a difference in resolution. Unfortunatelly - as I stated before - main aspect of this comparation has been lost due to codecing, so I'm pretty aware that you're little bit dissapointed with this one.

It is pretty unnecessary to try to explain how BMW demo has a more stabile picture and vertical lines, as you'll be able to see it in two weeks from now foor yourself (at least in Europe, as I know).

Thx Amar, maybe u can post some still images of the 5GB video, so we can compare the resolution that you were talking about. :)

I think I noticed a few changes over the NTSC Prologue, like the inside curbs on the roundabout, but both versions had that change. So it was just the PAL Prologue that was changed, and the BMW version wasn't any different than that.

One thing I am intrigued by on New York is that I am yet to see the pits open and see how they can function because the pits beside the start/finish are very narrow. Even the track map shows no pit lane. I am yet to download the video to check it out but has anybody been able to see the pits open anywhere?

At E3 2003 the start finish line was on the top of the course, not the main straight and they had what looked to be a pit lane. It looked much wider than the one down the back straight in Prologue. IGN has a few old vids of it.

Hey ALPHA ,could you please pm me once you have the New York video? (So I can stock up on CD's :P)
Thanks

Sure, so far I have got the Costa Di Amalfi Reply, 120i Collision Mayhem, 120i Nurburgring. I am currently getting the 120d Nurburgring, Costa Di Amalfi In Car and the New York Comparison.

If there are any other GT4 Videos you want as well just ask, I already have 2gb and rising :)

Amar212, who put up much much more time to make those comparasion video for us then the time we waited to download it, surely wanted for it to be interesting and representative so please try not to be too judgemental. :nervous: Ok, now for those that are important. As I too saw the BMW GT 4 demo and played it (well that is beauty of working solidarity :)), I can confirm everything that Amar212 tould you about higher resolution and less shimmering on New York city course that many one you experienced in GT 4 Prologue NY earlier. He also explained why those details (they are little but make noticable difference when you see them with your own eyes) expired, so I think that one more explenation is not needed for a smart one?
Bye.

My Devil's Advocate has spoken:). His oppionin is his oppinion, so feel free not to judge me on his behalf:).

All of you intrested in full-file will be able to download it as soon as I cope a ftp to mount it on. Of course, Jordan, if you're willing to have an 5GB file on yar server, I'll be more then happy to give it to you:).

Why don't you just select a representativ portion of the lap and cut away the rest. That should give you a high enough resolution vid at a more resonable size file.

Don't worry, no one will judge You on my behelaf, because I speak for myself not for someone elses.
I have opinnion with which I don't agree. :dopey:

The best thing to do is some hi-res screen caps of both the versions of them at various stages in the NY track.....that way we can see the slight differences, who needs to see it moving!

I'd love to, Amar, but I'm afraid that would be pushing our bandwidth too much and I couldn't afford it.

^ yeah......some pics would be really great.....even if its one to show the new smoother picture (less grainy) you were talking about............plz!! :) 👍

jordan can you do this for examplae take all the videos off for 2 or 3 days from the site it should give you enough sapce and load the 5 gb video on there so if anyone is downloading the other videos it wont put that much stress on the bandwith cuz there will be only 1 video to download.-Rohan

Bad idea. If only 10 people are going to dl the file it would consume 50 gb of bandwith. And that is huge. And expensive.

Amar said NewYork was twice more detailed than in Prologue. Now , he says compression has taken out half of the details. Here's a question for you Amar , If your statement is true , why should compression take out only the new details and leave those we have already seen ??? lol

It would be wiser to use the edit button. That's the reason it's available. To reduce the number of post. Just add "edit:" to your 1st post.

It's pretty easy to do.

And by using the edit button your following the AUP, don't make loads of posts in a row, especially about the same thing.

On topic, is the New York vid worth downloading when you have all the others?
