You must be doing something wrong... turn off autosave, don't turn off the PS2 while saving...ect

I'm happy to report I have progressed very far in GT4, and no problems with my game going corrupt (about time), but, at the same time, every "milestone" I hit in the game, I write a copy of my save to my PS2 hard drive. That, and I don't let anybody turn the PS2 off except me.

No no nο
They were because of a power cut while saving.

Haha that happened to my during the first 2 weeks I'd say of my time playing Gt4...it really sucked lol!! NEVER SWITCH OFF YOUR PS2 WHEN IT'S SAVING...trust me...I know lol

I want to join this club please.:)

:) Also remember to hit Ok after save game screen pops up in main....I lost my data that way...(turning off ps2 before hitting "ok"). I always make sure Gt is idle now before i turn the ps2 off....even go as far to wait a couple minutes....uber paranoid....

since then 1 game 100% and game 2 is at 77%....I haven't lost game 2 yet....game 1 went through 3 different corruptions....

MAKE SURE GT IS IDLE SO YOU DON'T TO JOIN THIS CLUB.....O btw my corruptions occured when the game first came out....

I'm still getting the red loading dial...it's been awhile since playing the game...I have yet to get another copy of the game and try it...too lazy

That's a disk read error. It can be the PS2 laser not picking up the GT4 disc fully, or the disc it's self is damaged.

It really has nothing to do with your saved game going corrupt, so I wouldn't worry about that end of the spectrum.

Sign me up:grumpy: :grumpy: it just told me it has been corupted about 10 mins ago. I insured the data on a second card..but unfortunately cant find it arrrrggh:banghead: I think its karma I have negleted Gtplanet for a few months now...oops

Wow, I must be lucky! I got GT4 the week it came out in the UK, I use a memory card I've had since I got my PS2 3 years ago, but no corrupted data :D

I got a new copy of gt4 for christmas, it worked okay for a little while, but my ps2 doesn't like gt4, and i got a few straight scratches very quickly (after about 2 days) and i occasionally get the red loading, now i'm worried that it's going to wreck my new copy:nervous:

how about a wrecked gt4 disc club?:dopey:

My name can get added to this list now, Corrupted on me last night, It just goes to show, dont drink and Gt4, I thought the game was done autosaving and i had my finger by the button waiting to shut it off but i slipped and hit it by accident. Luckily I have it backed up on a USB flash stick and I just used maxdrive to bring it back, but this time i disabled autosave

Aargh, count me in. I played Gran Turismo 3, and when i used Gran Turismo 4 again my data seemed to be corrupted.

Some dumb 🤬 individual decided to turn my game off while the auto-save was doing its thing.

Next time I went to play all I saw was Corrupt Data!!!! :grumpy:

Been hit by the corruption, it's madness!! I have started over, good thing I was only in the 30-35% range. This will give me good practice for WRS :P I am just starting my qualifiers in between trying to rewin all the races I had before.

:scared:

EDIT: Needless to say, I have turned off auto-save this time around .. It was autosaving and my power blipped off and on. If autosave owuld have been off, I would have lost my progress in that one race, but not the whole dang thing!

Well what happened to me wasn't necessarily corrupt data, But what did happen was some how I managed to delete my GT4 data I don't know how I did it but I did :dunce:  :banghead: :ouch:
