GT4 corrupt data club, 6 new members

I wanted to ask if this corrupted data thing happened by saving while it was saving on a non sony memorystick or original one? It has never happened to me lucky though playing gt4 since more than 3 years
 
My game freezes up while loading but only on my main data. I deleted my backup and made a new account and it loads fine anyone know what my problem is? I forgot to add this the first time but i can load my garage in arcade mode and for car trading.
 
I have bought a second card and i back-up regularly by copying one card to the other and storing the second card safely. I am also careful not to swicth-off, pull the card or cut the power while it is saving/loading etc. Is this all i need to do to avoid joining your club?
 
This thread brings back some painful memories. To make it even worse, it got corrupted during Wintereenmas after a solid two weeks of smack talk on my part. ~50% complete.

Same, I have three memory cards and use two pretty much just for GT4 contingency, Still have original save game from the day I got it on release day with 100% and 80 gold and never had a save game failure, but I am careful like you.
 
hey, well it's not totally a corrupted data yet..but on my game it wont play!! i put in the ps2 n all it does is act like there's nothing in it. All of my other games work, movies,games,CD's everything but GT4...i kno it acts like there's nothing in it because i've put the tray in empty and it does the same thing as when i put GT4 in..so, any advice? has anyone had this???SOMETHIN I'M DIEING TO PLAY THE GAME!!!

i got some problems with the disk to. my first one broke down a year ago, i thought, it was the ps2 how died. so i bought another one and after 1 month GT4 was broken again. other games were working fine. so i bought another GT4 and that works untill a few months ago. i already sold the old GT4 to a friend (it lays on his ps2 :S). and now i'm playing with his disk (trade with NFSMW), that was orignaly mine and didn't work

very strange, my data has been corrupt 2 times...

I was roughly 92-97% complete!!!:ouch:
I'm pretty sure that the only thing left was a few endurance races. I wouldn't have done em anyways lol.
It happened in February this year when I was playing NFS Carbon and it got stuck on the loading screen. It was as tho it was loading forever cos' the background was still moving!!:grumpy:
 
Good luck with your new start guys. :) As i have said, my data has been corrupted three times, with the first one being at 100%...it's painful I know.. :ouch:
 
Hi friends, I'm from South America, I love GT4, but when I'm playing the white dial that appears when the game is loading, becomes red and can't read more, my ps2 is a 39001 but I changed the lens the past week, what can I do?

Hey...does the "frogot to save" also count?
This happened to me, I finished the 15h Formula GT Championship and I turned the ps2 off whithout saving...what a pain...
 
This happend to me about a year ago and I was 98% away from bragging rights... I have since purchased a hard drive, and continuously backed up my gt4 game data to ensure that this event never occurs again!!!
 
Wow I seem to be ultra lucky. haha.
I'd like to join your club for corruption. I got 48% through and BAM there it went.
So, iv restarted, im now 43% of the way through, and besides the initial 100k credits thing havent done anything cheap yet like repeatedly sell the same car, etc. Im so proud.
As for the disc crash club. I would like to join you too.
My disc now currently has a tape inner hole because my slim ps2 has cracked it. still works thank god.
 
Mine wasn't saving when it happened, it had just finished but my dad came along and switched it off at the wall.
 
My game got corrupted. 33.6%. That might not sound like much to most of you, but that took me a while to get that far! I am not very good at this game. I can't describe how mad I am. I want to pull out my hair.

So, I guess I just have to start over?

Happened to me on my first time through, but luckily I was only 25% in.

In a way it helped me though, I became smarter as to how to progress in the game. I knew what car to buy per series, etc.
 
i have to join this club...its happened twice...
1) power went out...
2) ps2 was knocked over and malfunctioned

and i was at 76%

My memory card says its unformatted, is it dead? It had a ton of my good save data on it.

Yes. And formatting a memory card is an absolute pig. Do you have a MaxDrive or, better still, a PS3?
