GT4 corrupt data club, 6 new members

I know how you feel, It feels like I have a curse with corrupt data. From GT 1-4, my data become corrupt at the pike of my career. I bet that after I get GT 5, I'll lose my data somehow.

im a new member to the whole website and yesterday my data corrupted again!:ouch::ouch::ouch: 3 times it happened now and it always happens on about 30%!:crazy:

happened so many times, i have 3 MEMORY Cards now!

latest was this morning... from my (98%) save card (with all my rides!) i traded a hemi truck for the begginer races..
to my new (8.6%) save card (i started over... again!) i had 10 cars

i went into my garage to get into the truck- and all my cars are gone except 2 and the new truck... WTF?

so i pulled out my other new game back-up card (only at 8.2%) and reloaded that one- i had to re-race some tracks, but it was alright... all cars are back in the garage!

it's not like losing everything... that happened to me once with GT4, Live and Learn!

...NEVER AGAIN am i losing more than 1% of progress on any GT game!
the key is getting many cards and backing up regularly!
 
I got corrupted once. I was only at about 9.0 percent anyway.👍 Luckily, all I did was disembowel my evil PS2(THE ENEMY) and burn my memory card.👍 No actually I didn't do that, but I feel so bad for you guys.👍 Thanks for raising my awareness. I do believe that fate drove me to join this club, and to copy my memory cards. Count me in the club if it does count!
 
Well, I lost it due to a hasty reset.

See sig for stats at time of implosion. Strangely not upset because really, I was bored.

When i was at 29.28 % of the game my game got corrupted for a unknown reason.Later when I was 50%-ish I lost the memory card:censored:
I am 96% now:)
But I dont have a backup save and im in a 24hr endo right now:scared:
 
I guess you can add me onto this list too. 49.5% in at time of screwup.:banghead: Thank God for backups, though; I "only" went back to 33.0%.
 
You can add me too. I didn't lose my good save, but it still had 76% and Cr. 50,000,000. Oh yeah, and about 400 cars 🤬

I've been through the pain of corruption twice throughout my GT4 career. Luckly now, I've baught a second memory card.

I'm happy to say I learnt from my mistakes. I never got a corrupted file since the second time it happened and I finally managed (finally being earlier this year or maybe late last year) to complete GT4. I also learnt how to spell "bought".
 
hey I over qualify for this club...and is this a record...7 corrupt data files...i have 4 memory card now and update them regularly. Worst part was i was 79% through the first time
 
You can add me, too. my datas where corupted, and i was at 100%, but i had luke i have a back up save. but this back up save had 90% (now it´s 100%) but my best drag cars and highspeedcars weren´t in my back up save =( i lost my best cars

First of all, hi everyone!

Ive had corrupted data, not once, not twice, not three times, not four times, but today, FIVE TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:ouch::nervous:

First time, best car i had was the CLK-GTR:indiff:. Second, i was just starting. Third, Audi R8 (yeah, the LMP1):guilty:. Fourth, R8 and 25% game:guilty:. Half an hour ago, R8, Minolta, W12...etc 28%:ouch::grumpy:.

I dont know whats the problem, i always turn off the console after it says "select ok to continue" and the red memcard light goes off and it still says "data corrupted" when i turn it on again.:grumpy::nervous:. Help me please!

How many hours wasted...Anyway....:ill:

Hmmm, it seems from the info you've posted that your data corrupts at almost the same point every time, I.E. somewhere around 20 - 30%.
It seems all too coincidental that it's happened to you 5 times at the same point so I'd be tempted to suggest that you maybe have a bad block on your memory card which is causing this, rather than the game itself.

Have you tried using another memory card? 💡

Other tips include making absolutely certain that when you first start the game, go to Options and make sure that the "Autosave" feature is set to "OFF." 👍
 
well, mine just corrupted today...
I was 89.6% done...

it feels weird because I saw this thread before and I thought "meh, that'll never happen to me, I take good care of my memory cards and my PS2". then <insert farting noise here> it's corrupt.

This seriously sucks

working on getting back my FGT before the FGT Series starts though
 
Damnit, got to 61.3% and dropped my Playstation on the ground. The console is fine, but the chip inside the memory card is almost broken off. There goes a year and a half of racing. And 30+ cars tuned perfectly for drifting. :(

R.I.P. GT4 data...

EDIT: I dropped it 2 days after finishing a 4 hour endurance.
