I do so hope that you are not including the following in that very sweeping statement:

Clio Williams (mk 1 to 3)
Clio V6 (Mk 1 and 2)
Clio 172 (Standard and Cup)
Clio 182 (Standard and Cup)

Because the Clio's listed above are anything but a waste of petrol, being arguably the finest collection of hot-hatches ever (apart from the V6, which is actualy slower than the 182 down most b-roads, but looks and sounds so good).

No, I meant the normal, road-going, every-day Renault Clio that you see in the streets all the time.. That car (as I have been "forced" to drive it a few times) is horrible in my opinion.. Sorry if I offended you with my "sweeping" remarks.. :)

Cheers!

I think it's been discussed before, the transfer only gets you the first 2 licenses, NOT individual gold times on the tests themselves. You get the bonus cars by aquiring gold times so that means you still have to gold all times for each license level to get the car.

Oki i see :) let´s see if i got this right...if i have some gold-times in thoose licenses that i get from transfer ,the goldtimes will be gone in GT4 but i get the licens right ? in other words i need to go for gold again i GT4 if i want the bonuscars for thoose licenses?

You're almost there!

The license transfer give you a PASS in the first two licences. That is to say, no GOLDs are awarded, you will simply be allowed into races that require one or other of the first two licenses,

To get the Bonus Cars, you need to do the licenses yourself, and get Gold.

Cheers.

I've just noticed The Lexus' are listed as American Cars...

How the hell is that so? They're a part of Toyota... quite blatantly a Japanese Company!!

thx alot 👍 then i probably run the licenses from start again

I may be wrong, but I think Lexus is only used outside Japan. Like Scion which I believe may be in the American version (that needs confirmation I suppose).

As for an earlier question about the Audi R8. If you opt to buy it you get a choice of which number car you want for your money.

Regarding my statement about the cr. --- cars. I have bought cars from another memory card that have a cr. -- price in the showroom. Two examples being the BMW 2002 Turbo (fairly cheap) and the Toyota 7 (under 100,000,000 which would translate as 1,000,000 in PAL/American). I have yet to find a car that cannot be bought from another memory card. The Ford Model T I bought for a default (I assume) 20,000,000 (200,000 PAL/American). The Trade screen lists the price for most of the cars though some still show up as unpriced but that does not appear to stop you buying them.

All this from the Japanese version though I don't expect any difference.

Someone mentioned that a Stage 5 turbo could be bought in the "Tuner Village" and Stage 4 suspension (this on the American version... I will be checking my Japanese version tonight). Is this also true of the PAL version.

Yeah, I believe you're right that Lexus isn't used in Japan, there they get the same models branded Toyota. I guess they made Lexus because Japanese cars have been branded crappy over here for a long time, including Toyota.

Lexus is basically Toyota's Luxury Car arm...

A bit like Merc and Maybach.

Therefore I reckon they should be classified as Japanese? Anyone else got any comments?

C.

I would hardly call a Lexus IS200 that luxurious. I think they see it as a "premium brand" compared to Toyota. A but like Ford and Jaguar.

Acura is a little different as that is only used in America. Maybe PD decided to treat Lexus in the same way even though it is sold more widely than Acura.

The problem with drawing parrallels between Ford and Jag is that Ford Acquired Jag whereas Toyota fully own Lexus to sell their "premium" models...

Which is why I had to use Merc -> Maybach... the parrellel is good because a Merc is seen as Luxurious anyway and Maybach is Premium Luxury... a similar relation to Toyota -> Lexus but a few notches further down the ladder!!

I was working on the current Ford/Jaguar relationship. I nearly used Ford/Lincoln which I suppose would have been more realistic perhaps.

Has anyone confirmed Scion in the American release?

Amar, I presume no sign of the C9 yet then?

Ah I new that Ford had an American "luxury" model but I couldn't remember it... I had a feeling that it was oldsmobile... but I'm obviously wrong...

Anyways... I still reckon that Lexus are Japanese not American... and why American and not British as well... as I reckon it's no more American than British?!

C.

So let me get this straight... in the US version, the C9 is not in the final license test? And, it is not buyable, and it is not won via the Grand Valley enduro? yet it *is* in the game?

Maybe (surely ?) a percentage prize car. In the Asian version, there wasn't any. But as Amar stated, in the PAL, he won the Audi Nuvolari at 25%. So maybe (surely ?), we will win other cars at 50, 75 and 100%.

We don't know where you get it yet, there was a suggestion earlier that it might replace the Audi R8 prize in the other enduro since you can buy the Audi anyway.

clio182 is fun to drive I'd say but the V6...hmmph...more a suicide car than anything else I've got plenty of pictures showing the way their driver end..not pretty and really sad...Renault MR cars are stupidly dangerous !!!
understeer and then bam ! complete oversteer-spin unmanageable over the limits even for a pro pilot..stay the hell away from them...

yeti
I wonder if there is a dodge on that... As for Series you can clear completions to rewin cars... does this affect the percentage?

C.

How exactly do you clear the completions? Like what screen do you go to? I can't find it. I have the US version.

Minor update avlbl in the very first thread.

Pics in att. New Lexus, FPV GT with stripes and S16 screen.

Almost all tuners in Tuner's village have Stage 5 Turbo in their shops. It cost briefly as Stage 4 in Manufactorers Tuners, around 72 - 75 000 Cr.

I have one question for all Asia version owners: I just could not find an option where "some guy is speaking on japanese about the cars". Can you tell me where to find it? I have a Chinese version myself, and I can't find that option on my PAL copy too. Thanx in advance.
