That confused me too originally, cause i remebered this option, but every time i went to pick a dirt track, it wasn't there.... anyways, the snow shots all look awsome this week 👍

I wonder if it has something to do with taking up more memory (or whatever) to render "dirt" scenery than it does snow or "regular" scenery? Has anyone tried to run with the top down on any of the city circuits or are those included in the "road" tracks that have been mentioned? I'm not much of a convertible/roadster fan so I've never really bothered to pay that much attention before this week.

i think it has to do with the spectators...
I tested a bunch of car yesterday in arcade mode, and all the cars that don't have a roof (jay leno tank car etc...) aren't allowed to have dirt tires.
so... i think its that the extra nonsense with all the dorky camera guys running around stops the ps2 from being able to deal with animating the driver as well.
but anyway.. the snow shots look great, keep em comming. 👍
(might want to change the topic to state snow tracks only... since i'm quite positive its going to be impossible to get a dirty driver)
but as has been proved by the creepy photo of the guy looking at the camera, with enough amber filter you can make it look like dirt.
