GT4 track you hate most

I'm going to go ahead and agree with everyone else here: Hong Kong is THE worst track... ever. Why? Theres no flow, no soul, no nothing. None. All neon signs, short straights, and 90 degree bends, wheres the fun in that? ... and New York too, thats also a snooze fest.

The best tracks then are the ones with flow: The ones with nice long sweeping corners, long straights, that aren't too tight, or slow. The Nurburgring, La Sarthe, and Fuji 80s come to mind instantly, for those very reasons. I recently bought the movie Grand Prix on DVD, and thoroughly enjoyed the "on board" shots of the various races. Makes you realize how much better the tracks were in those days. In the days before stupid little chicanes, and dull looking gravel traps. In those days the Nurburgring was only one of several tracks on the Grand Prix calendar that could take your head off and your breath away in the same drive.

To give you an example: Fuji Speedway. The first incarnation in the game (80's version) is an absolute beaut to drive. Maybe a little too short, but none the less, it flows from one fast sweeping corner to the next in spectacular fassion. Now in the next version (90's) they neutered it a bit... but not much. The two chicannes added make the track much safer (in real life) and add some more over taking chances under breaking, but they tend to break up the flow just a bit. .... :grumpy: And then theres the current iteration of the track.... Its like they decided to bulldoze the original, and build an airport, but at the last moment decided to turn it back into a race track. The course is souless, gray, bland, gray, horribly wide, gray, and most of all gray! ... At least when they made the new (and also souless) Nurburgring, they didn't bulldoze the original! (although they did destroy the beautiful Sudscheilf :( )

Hong Kong gets my vote as well. In some parts it can be very difficult to read the track until you smack into the wall! That's what pushed me to learn how to identify landmarks...

However, the other track I have many a dislike for is the Cathedral Rocks series of tracks. It, too, is hard to read, and I find it a wee bit tough to drive sometimes.

Well..in my quest to thrash all my cars around every track (bar dirt/driving park tracks) I've come to the conclusion my worst track vote falls with Suzuka West...why? That god damn double 90 deg turn after 130r but before where you'd turn for the Casio Triangle..

Hong Kong is also annoying, as is George V Paris...but they only bug me if I'm in a particularly high powered car that I can't really utalise. Cote d'Azur is boaderline crap with me...namingly for it's more GT styled barrier lay out, particularly around Pool. Prefer the F1 version (and no, not so I can cut the corners).

I don't mind Hong Kong, but i hate both Paris tracks and the Special Stage ones too. Cote d'Monte Carlo isn't much fun either IMO. Grand Valley (not the short GV East which i love) is the track that i've never liked but everyone else seems to love.

My favorite is Sarthe. I hate El Capitan, so many turns. Atleast nurburgring is a has a little high speed corners, this track has all low speed corners.

The only track I hate on the game is the ice arena.

I think I agree with this one...

I don't really hate any tracks... I love the variation in tracks in GT, I love to learn them and sometimes there are bit to slow tracks (George Paris) but hey it can be fun...

Ice Arene is the one I hate most for that, it's short slippy and well I think I just don't really like the ice racing as much as the road racing :scared:

No way! El Capitan is almost all high-speed corners - after the big 180 left (counterclockwise), it's a high-speed run through the dunes all the way up to just before the tunnel entrance, and then it's fast down the hill to the hairpin, and then it's fast onto the bridge, and then it's fast from there back past the s/f line to the brake point for the big 180 again.

There are only 3 moderately low-speed spots: the complex on the low side of the tunnel; the complex between the hairpin and the straight leading to the bridge, and from the end of the bridge through the next turn.

Even the first slight turn is a fast one, needing only to brake lightly of lift off at most (depending on whether you're on a still start or blazing down the straight on a later lap)

I hate Super speedway.... Just finished last race for 200 pts on that stupid boring track so I don't have to drive it EVER AGAIN...

Exactly! El Capitan is a terrific track!

I don't agree... Once you master it, it's great... Try it with Lotus Elise 111R or some Honda S2000 (Amuse version would be my choice).
Scenary is also nice...

IMO it's the best new (Original Section) track in the game...

👍 I hate grand valley too... the little guy i quite like, but i've never been fond of the full circuit. I think its that stupid tight "S" before the last corner that gets me everytime. In general, though, i think PD did a very good job designing their own tracks.... with the exception of Autumn Ring and the aforementioned Grand Valley.

I love both Autumn Rings and El Capitan, El Capitan i find is especially good with its fast flowing turns, for me its probably PD's best made up track yet - although i still pine for Red Rock Valley.

???? You don't need to lift off there. Just take it full throttle, but be careful in a Chapp. 2J. That's scary.

Red Rock Valley? Pssssh, whatev. Grindelwald is where its at. 👍

The track I really hate is Grand Canyon- I dread the time when I'll have to do the Hard mode one, I just can't seem to get the car flowing through the corners, and the start gives me no chance to overtake the AI other than ramming it very hard (and that hands out a penalty)

The road track I like the least is New York. 90 this, 90 that, except the roundabout! And you can't the the hairpin until you basically hit the wall.

Grand Canyon is kind of hard until you've memorized (or semi-memorized) it. Just like the Nurb. Still, it's a very mean track.

The hairpin in New York? Brake early. Very early. Easy as pie. After you've done the Toyota 2000GT mission on New York, it won't seem as hard.

Love:
Nurb - Miles of tricky corners but always good when you get it right
Costa Di Amalfi - Prettiest track by far
High Speed Ring - Old School and still easy as.

Hate:-
Seoul - So boring
Citta Di Aria - Stupidly narrow and hard.
Tsukuba - Boring as hell.
