GT4 track you hate most

I don't like El Capitan probably because I don't completely know the track, and the flashing gear indicator doesn't come on until too late on one of the corners (just after the hill, so I can't see it) and I always go crashing into it.
Hit it at least 10 times in my last endurance race.

Also, I love Motegi, but only the East circuit, the other road courses are far too long for my liking.

Ah. Just as i suspected.
I was the same about El Capitan too, until I used the Honda Takata Dome.:dopey:

Anyways...
I have a new opinion about Seoul. It just seems...uh...🤬 I forgot!
Oh well...

Don't use the flashing gear/brake indicator. It's always a little bit wrong. If you learn the courses well instead of relying on gadgets, you'll find yourself disobeying the indicator like 90% of the time..

Must admit to not liking infineon. Can't seem to get a handle on it. Much prefer the city courses. More to look at on a sunday afternoon drive 👍

I usually do, but as I don't know the track, I use it just to work out where the blind corners are.
Even though I've done 100+ laps of El Capitan, I ALWAYS miss that little bend after the hill *grumbles*

I guess you can use it initially. But to get best results (quickest lap times) you gotta figure out where the best braking points and gear changes really are. The more you play, the better you'll get a feel for this sort of stuff.

So are you talking about the slight right bend after the hill just after the tunnel? Or the slight left that follows?

The egg-shaped ovals are boring. (is there more than one? I can't recall) Also don't care for dirt/snow, either.

As for what I like, it depends on the car I'm racing. The Sarthe circuit can be a real drag when racing a '54 Citroen 2CV.

Other than that I like them all, though I have a real love-hate relationship with the Nurburgring!

Regardless of the car, opposition, or my mood, there's only one choice nowadays. George V Paris. Half of the corners are taken in the first gear and the rest in the second, at least if the car has gearing that tops out at more than 150 km/h. Total frustration in a pretty package and not much more.

Uh, it's just before what appears to be a bridge - there's like a little angled wall that I always hit, do a 720 and then end up in 6th. Not sure how "just after the tunnel" that is.

I'll take a photo eventually to clarify.

Yea, I think I know where you're talking about, but I'm not 100% sure. If its where I think it is, there's a license test that focuses on this area that you can practice.

Can't say that I have one that I hate. Used to think Cittia. Like driving in a apt. hallway. Motegi Road Course until this last GPTLMS series. I didn't like it because I hadn't spent much time on it. Same with Fuji 05, GT. Very hard to pick up the corners. The more I practice the more I like the courses. Pick up their flow etc. Suzuka until I drove the missions and found out that I was better than the AI on the corners and chicanes in the same car. Happy day when you no longer fear B Spec Bob. Pick one? Probably Seoul. Not much time on it and no Character to the track. The only race still left to win on Extreme Formula GT. Love all the originals because I drove most of them so much as I finished (tried) GT2 3 times because of the garage bug and the completion glitch. Give me back Grindelwald, Rome Night and Red Rock and I'd be happy.

edit: Like Seoul now. 1st in the race. Not even close. 77 laps of anything and you'll get to like it.

Grand Canyon hands down - worst track with next to no space to initiate a solid pass.

That's one of the tracks I hate most, because, as you've said, there's no space where you could overtake and if there is the AI just slams into you and you get a penalty :ouch:

I absolutely hate Chamonix and the Ice Arena.

If I had to choose, I'd say Motegi. It's just so... featureless and bland. I'm sure that's why PD set the weather to a beautiful sunset - so there was something to look at!

My two favourite tracks have to be the Nordschleife and Grand Valley Speedway. The Nordschleife - well, what more do I need to say? It's sacred ground for petrolheads. It's a great challenge, and great fun if you get it right. And, as for Grand Valley - I feel that it is the greatest designed track I've ever seen in a video game. I wish it really existed.

Hmmm.. Track I hate most... Don't know. Things like Seoul, New York, High Speed Ring, and Motegi are just grossly bland and boring.. I also feel that way about Silverstone..

Other tracks like Fuji (especially the new version) and La Sarthe just don't appeal to my style. They just have an uncomfortable flow to the corners (or rediculously long straights -_-) which is what makes them tricky I guess. I used to dislike Suzuka but after driving it a bunch in GT5:P as something else besides Eiger, I grew to like it.

Some of the dirt/snow tracks have excellent layouts but either the rally penalty system kills it or the crazy loose traction just makes them so difficult to drive.

I like tracks that have a certain flow, or momentum to them. You can carry speed through them but they arn't simple tracks (quick and technical sections with some elevation change). Nurburgring Nordschliefe is obviously my favorite. Deep Forest, Trial Mountain, Grand Valley, Costa di Amalfi, Special Stage 5, Laguna Seca, and Infineon to name a few.

The tracks I hate totally depend on the cars I'm driving.

In normal road cars, I can't stand tracks like Fuji 80s and Circuit de la Sarthe, as they don''t really offer any challenge. I really like tracks like Autumn Ring in these (though this is one of my most hated tracks in Prototypes/FGT).

In racing cars like JGTC, I hate very few tracks, as they are a nice middle ground, but the resrticted top speed compared to cornering highlights the bore factor in tracks like Motegi Road Course.

In Prototypes and Formula GT, I hate city tracks which are narrow like Opera Paris and Hong Kong. For the FGT my favourite tracks are smoother ones like Suzuka and Fuji, but in prototypes I love Circuit de la Sarthe, esp. II in a group C.

But the Nurburgring is always there or there abouts whatever the car, so this is the best overall, and is my outright favourite in everything except an FGT(too bumpy) and prototypes where it is pipped by le mans.

Test course is only fun in sliptream battles, but I can stand Super Speedway.

Edit: forgot about dirt/snow - all mediocre except Ice Arena which is as joke and utterly dire, and Cathedral Rocks 1 which is quite fun to race.

i prolly hate all the rally tracks. I'm just useless at the ice and sand and dirt thing.

However, i was racing at Seoul Reverse last night, as well as Capitan Reverse last week, and i have to admit it. Reverse tracks are a disaster. Half of the time, i had no idea where the heck i was in Capitan. And i can barely see where to brake at Seoul Reverse.

But in normal mode, i think the worst for me is Hong Kong.

I'd have to say.. New York. The corners are to square, and you have to slow down heaps just after going on the long straight, at the back end.

My personal fave is Test Course. Go in Arcade mode, go in A-spec, and make sure most of the cars racing are Formula 1's, and have an 30-40 lap enduro. Watch the replay at the end, and some of the Forumla 1's just completly crash out, and slam in to the walls and do massive flips in the air. It's crazy.

Hong kongs the best for me and the
worst tracks: new york, its so hard and annoying, grand canyon is close and citta di area got 3rd place for worst track

I actually enjoy Grand Canyon for time trials, it has a lovely flow, it is just a shame that it is so narrow for racing. But for those who detest GC, try a time trial with an old rally modified Stratos!

I never was a fan of Grand Canyon, though, but I'll give the Stratos a try and see if I enjoy the track more. Yes, it's really narrow, which takes all the fun out of racing there.

After driving Ice Arena a bit more by myself, it's starting to grow on me. I hate Motegi, it's mostly long straight, slow curve, long straight, slow curve. It lacks flow and isn't even fun to drive (Well, the east course is... kinda.)
