Man I wish full Pikes Peak was in... c'mon apart from it's length 12.42 miles, how hard can it be to do?
Exactly. Aside from it also being the only p2p course in the game, I also think they should include the Salt Flats, for true top speed testing.

Cheers,

MasterGT

Hmm, i must admit, it would be nice to have an absolutely vast straight test track to get a true measure of top speed, or even, if that isn't possible, have the game tell you!

In "Free Run" mode in GT3, I had the chance to attack Laguna Seca in reverse.

How is this done? I'm assuming you don't just select 'free run' than select Laguna Seca & than once the game starts, turn the car around and drive the other way do? :D

Call me a nOOB but I've never seen any option in GT3 to start a race at LS going backwards....any info would be appreciated! 👍

does anyone know or can list, of all the tracks seen and about to be seen in the GT series, what are clockwise and what ones are anti-clockwise...Don't count the reverse or 'II' tracks.

How are 'anti-clockwise' and 'reverse' different?
If going clockwise on say Laguna Seca means going down the corkscrew, than wouldn't going UP the corscrew be considered 'anti-clockwise/reverse?'...

Maybe it's me but I just don't see the relevancy in your post?
Sorry!
No harm, no foul though!

Tracks like Grand Valley run clockwise.
Tracks like SSR5 are anti-clockwise.

Therefore:

Grand Valley Reverse is anti-clockwise.
SSR5 Reverse goes clockwise.

That help?

Thnx Do you race?

How are 'anti-clockwise' and 'reverse' different?

Tracks are designed to go in a certain direction, either clockwise or anti-clockwise. Thus I was asking it's default direction... in fact running a track in 'reverse' doesn't happen all that often if at all because all the tracks safety features are designed for the track to run in its default direction. Permission even to run part of the track in other than in its default direction can only come from the country's governing motorsport body.

Not really because you can race SSR5 in two directions...clockwise or counter-clockwise...(at least in GT3 you're able to) therefore reverse and counter-clockwise are one and the same!

Therefore I still can't see the revelance in someone asking "Hey, can I get a list of what tracks are ran clockwise and which ones are ran anti-clockwise...but don't count the reverse or 'II' tracks!"...when in fact "Reverse" , "II" or "counter-clockwise' all refer to the same thing..being able to race a track in the opposite direction from it's original layout...

Am I missing something here or am I not getting my point across correctly?

Seattle & Seattle II is just one track, which is able to be run in two directions. Seattle is the way in which it is designed to be raced (i.e. the default), Seattle II is Seattle run in the opposite way its designed to be run.

I was after the direction each was run in 'default'. Not in 'II' form.

Now that makes sense! :)

If GT4 holds to form and includes the same tracks as in GT3, than would it be safe to assume that any track which does not indicate "II" at the end (example: Seattle II) would be the default direction to race that track?

If not, than I need to start rethinking my thought process! LOL!

I was curious to what the ratio of clockwise to anti-clockwise tracks throughout the GT series was and if it was similar to RL.

butch, I know that only Imola and Interlagos are the only two tracks on the F1 season that are anti...

I was interested/curious in all the GT tracks.

PD did some nice 'fantasy' tracks, but after seeing what they did with the ring thus far, give me some more real circuits to rip up the tarmac on.

Amen! Bring on tracks from other racing leagues (BTCC, STCC, SCCA, ETC, ETC) such as:

Brands Hatch
AI Ring
Zandvoort
Mantorp Park
Magny-Cours
Bathhurst
Oschersleben
Catalunya
Adelaide
Silverstone
T1 Circuit AIDA
Le Man's
Spa
Brno
Donning

:) Yeah Donington Park would be good to see, it's less than 10minutes down the road from me... Also Snetterton is quite a nice little circuit to drive on...

Paul.

Okay, let me explain. When I ran in Free Run, I just simply raced in the other direction. No fancy Gameshark or anything. I just made a U-Turn, and just ran the other way.

I ve read some time ago an interview with some Polyphony Digital element who said that they were filming some locations in Germany, France, Italy and England. If we have the Nurburgring from Germany and perhaps Le Mans from France; its still missing Italy and England. Note that im only talking about real tracks. About Italy maybe they put Monza or Imola and about England they could feature Silverstone or Donington or Brands Hatch. But theres sill one legendary track missing: Spa Francochamps from belgium; most F1 drivers and others use to say thats the best track they ever raced

Like in gt3,where is RED ROCK VALLY COURSE???

The latest news is that 68 courses (excluding reverse and different versions of the same track are set to appear in GT4), That means my list currently has a big hole that needs filling, so I wouldnt be surprised if all previous tracks get the update treatment and that still leaves quite a few more gaps for more real tracks.

So X your fingers, it may well be in, hopefully alongside Grindlewald.

Well, it's just ike I said in the past, GTXLR. I made another prediction that we'd get more than 50 tracks, but perhaps no less than 100. Now, I'm not perfect at predictions, nor do I have an ego at it or something, but I'm glad to know that so far, it looks like 68 tracks so far. After seeing Speed Channel's highlights of the LMES (Le Mans Endurance Series) race at Spa-Francorchamps, I'd probably want to nominate Spa as a great track to race on. If there is any track that's a sweet place for sportscars and GT racers, let it be this classic Belgian track. My only issue would have to be dealing with the bus stop chicane. I can always improve that, of course.

I'm not trying to bring up an already existing topic, but what would be the biggest surprise track for GT4? What do you think will be the most unexpected track will be in GT4, should there be one?

There's a simple way of dealing with the Bus Stop Chicane issue, John - PD should put in the old Spa from way back in the 1950s-60s when the track was 12km long. That way we'd get to take on the awesome Masta Kink.

Hmmm, 68 single-way tracks not including different versions of the same course.
So would the following be counted as just 1:

Rome Short & long
Seattle short & long (i couldnt care less about these two)
Grand Valley Speedway and East (i care greatly about these!)
Grand canyon North and Full (though i doubt anyone will race on GC north!!)
Special Stage Route 5 / Super Special Route 5

if so, given that we're excluding reverse tracks as well... That brings the total number of tracks i think to something like 32. Given that we're looking at 68, there's every chance all those old tracks wil make an appearance.

My only question is will those confirmed 'photo shoot' tracks be useable for racing...or are those just prime locations for taking pics of your car?
If they're just in the game to use for picture taking, than I think that track list needs to be re-evaluated and corrected because when I hear 'X number of tracks' (Whatever the number is) I think 'tracks that you can race on!'...or am I the only one that thinks this?

The photo locations are purely photo locations and if you bother to check the original thread properly youll see that i seperated them from the tracks and they are not included in the total track count.

So im not sure how you got confused!

I think there was something on one of the 20 some pages of this thread about what tracks with what cars people are really looking forward to, and I would like to add my two cents. This might be a surprise, but as much fun as Nurburgring will be with just about any car, what I really can't wait to get my hands on is the Renault R5 Turbo on Citti di Aria. Nothing like a tarmac rally with one of the greatest hot hatches ever made (and not sent to the states). That is gonna be sweet. I will still probably check out the Nurburgring in a M5 or M3 CSL first, because I have always dreamed about tackling the "Green Hell" with a fine German Automobile, but when I get my fill of that, what I really want is mid-engined French goodness on the narrow, winding, italian road.

Mmm, sounds nice to me!!

Just because a thread is buried and left to die doesn't mean it's not active.
Of course... 💡
