Shadows of the nature shown in the screenshot CAN exist.
If you are seeing a reflection of some clouds, especially on a dark/black car, the color of the car will not be apparent, but thecolor of the cloud would be. If it is a reflection of empty blue sky, even the blueness of the sky probably will not be apparent.

Really, it is impossible to tell from just a still shot.
If we could see that same shot in a moving vid, it might look pretty good.

I see it in publicity materials for cars all the time (TV ads, magazine ads, etc.)

I actually think it looks pretty, go figure.

What I don't find pretty are the wheels and tires, which are STILL bogus-looking. You'd think something that obvious would be easier to get right.

The crashes in forza looks pretty cool XD

The GT ones were damn pathetic, especially the head on crash, where the car slides sideways in a ridiculous way, pretty much making a joke of GT3s physics (that was GT3 wasn't it). I'm quite sure GT4 won't be that bad.

i dunno guyz fortza you can totaly customize your car from bodykits for real spoilers rims everything

*shrugs* Well, for some of us, that isn't necessarily a draw. To each his own, though; if you like it, go for it.

you know what, both games have things the other game does not

GT4 has alot of cars, Forza has less, but lets you customize them
GT4 has Photo Mode, Forza has online (yes i know that GT4 is "planned" to have an online component, but i'm going on whats coming now )

both games have realistic AI (sometimes GT4 is better, sometimes Forza, i've seen both)
Both Games have tracks modelled close to the Real Life track (once again, some Forza tracks are better, some GT4 Tracks are better)

you know what i'm gonna do, i'm gonna get both, when one starts to bore me, i'll play the other and keep switching off like that

having an Anti-Microsoft, burn Bill Gates at the stake additude is just gonna make you miss out on the good things that they are actually doing with that game.

i've said my piece, i'm out

This video points out the differences beetween Gran Turismo & Forza Motorsport it's pretty good :)

it's obvious this video only shows the good sides of forza and the bad ones of gt3 (3! btw).
But still, the cars driven in forza on this footage... man you're not gonna tell me THAT'S realistic
I agree that forza is better is some ways (like sounds for example :grumpy: ) but you can easily drift trouh an entire corner without any problems

I'm not comparing the two, but most of you haven't had the playtime/variety I have had. I have all tracks, etc, and I can tell you that this video is extremely set up.

Basically the comparison isn't done on an even playing field, most of the clips were arranged to make forza look better, and make the difference more drastic...it's extremely over exaggerated.

besides the ferrari there's nothing that thrills me in this vid.....(not mentioning that it's cheap propaganda, how old is GT3 again???)

if i had to choose i'd take GT3(!!!),i mean three

I agree that Forza looks very good but don't you think the visuals are a bit boxy compared to GT4. At least the pics I've seen are. Some nice cars though.

OK, I've just seen the comparison movie and I think I might have to take that back.
The crash effects are great but the thing is, in the GT series, the idea is that you don't crash in the first place.

i only have a ps2. so i will be getting gt4. however forza will for sure be a sweet game. yet i beleive they will be entirey different expirences. gt4 will be something like this: OMG OMG OMG GT4!! forza will be like this: omg omg omg any other good racing game. At least thats how it is for me and probably most gt enthusiasts. also im not territorial as far as games/consols go, but i do love the conflict generated by those who are!

not important which console you've got as long as you can play GT4 :dopey:

i bought my ps2 because of GT3,if it came out on xbox,i'd own a xbox...
FORZA just doesn't look like i'd buy a whole console for it,the day there is a driving game better or as good as GT4 on xbox i'll buy one,but luckily ENTHUSIA looks by far more interesting than FORZA,so i can save my money for a racing seat :sly:

I watch some forza movies on IGN.com, look like it's very easy to gain control back after hitting the wall or go into the sand. well, I think forza is just another NFS Hot pursuit 2 with better graphic and without the cops. the damages are cool though.

yeah, you wanna crash? go play flatout,GT is for those who try not to crash

If these people made games we would still be playing pong style crap. You see it's a thing called DEPTH, in GTA SA your MEANT to do the missions, but it's also FUN to go on mad killing sprees. So what if your not meant to crash, in real life your not meant to crash, but it happens, it's part of racing.

KENJIusa, what's it like to be wrong?

*KENJIusa mode on*

"I think Gt4 is like outrun 2, but with out the ferraris, traffic, locations, drifting blah blah...oh wait, it's nothing like Outrun 2."

*KENJIusa mode off*

Firstly, I agree that crash physics make the game more interesting, but I disagree that the ability to destroy cars on the track makes or breaks a game.
Secondly, KENJIusa isn't wrong, it's all a matter of opinion and what you want from a game.

you can't have EVERYTHING in game that's that close to perfection....

nobody said damage in GT would be crap,it's just not that important when you get 735 cars on some beautiful tracks with such a handling....

or would you like more depth in GT,but a handling or graphics like GTA?????

perhaps you never heard, but the possibilities of the ps2 aren't unlimited 💡

I never said it made of breaks the game, it just adds a very interesting element to it. I'm sorry but most people here just say crap like "oh it doesn't need crash damage" mainly because they kiss too much PD ass. I bet you if it DID have damage, the tone would be OH so different.

And ofc he's bloody wrong, he hasn't even played the demo :P
So by your logic, my BS made up opinion about GT4 being like outrun 2 is correct?

or would you like more depth in GT,but a handling or graphics like GTA?????

I would gladly drop graphics quality to get decent damage. And please, don't yack on about physics being worse because of it, thats crap.
I'm fully aware the PS2 couldn't really do it, and I never made out like it could. I'm just saying I like damage in my games. I guess I just like to smash stuff up.

I agree with you that damage would be a great addition to GT, if it was done well, but it is just a shame that some people (not you, just generally) forget all of the good parts of the game and focus on the lack of Ferrari, Porsche, damage etc.

Whats wrong with me? Oh I just can't stand people who make crap up I guess.

Oh and video does pretty much own GT3...GT3 isn't that good imo. Gt4 struck me as racing...but with all the fun taken out.

It makes GT look really bad when it's not.

It only made Gt3 look bad tbh. Gt4 is alot better.

Wow what a completely unfair video, gt3 was realesed in 2001 for godsakes. The handling in the forza vids could be burnout 3 how easy is it too drift? And for all those crappy gt3 cars there is loads of supercars easly as nice a ferrari's pagani zonda as eg. Its funny we dont see gt fans making videos like this maybe forza fans have somthing too fear?

True, but GT3 wasn't that bad considering it is a lot older than Forza. Forza has had years to improve.
