GT4 vs Forza [Let the battle begin]

You missed the point. What the video was poking fun of was GT's huge line up weak powered cars and then showing off what GT4 wont have which is Ferrari's and real Porsches. It wasnt an official marketing tool so quit taking it so serious, still you cant deny some of the valid points it made.

This weekend, I have played the Forzademo and compared it with GT4 prologue and the BMW drivedemo and though both GTdemo's have a much improved physicsengine over GT3, Forza's physics are much more realistic.

Actually, it is an accurate comparison. Forza does have better physics and crash physics than gt3. The funny thing is that you get offended by it so much that you have to keep attacking it.

Now before everyone calls me a Xbox Fanboy. I will be buying GT4 and Forza. Those points I stated above are why I'm getting Forza. GT4 on the other hand is because of the kick A$$ wheel, being able to drive 700+ car's on nurburgring, and so on.

There is just no way to compare the two games. There completly different in there own repects. Thats why instead of arguing which is better I'll be getting both of them.

As viruz says, if you are lucky enough to own both an X-box and a PS2, then do yourself a favour and buy both. It is pointless trying to prove which is better. Both games will provide hours and hours of fun, and that, after all, is what they are for

This Is probably my 3rd or 4th post ever here... Been here since before GT3, And never have really spoke up except to answer some questions...

Well here goes... forza AND GT4 are both worth $50 bucks... What it comes down to is how much would you be willing to pay for GT4... If it were to come out tomorrow, would you buy it on the spot, no questions asked for $50? or will you wait until the price comes down or is bundled with PStwo?

Now ask yourself, If I could have it tomorrow, would I pay $200 for it... If your answer is yes, you are biased.

If your answer is no, You are an average, un-biased, Non-Gear head human being.

Case in point, The arguement is for you to argue with yourself, not with others.

You cannot say one is better than the other, First of all Neither of them are full complete, nor Can they pick a Fricken Release date. Honestly, Both game developers are afraid of the waves the other will make when it launches. So this be said, Both Games will Be awesome, I don't think you will hear anyone who plays either of the games for a weekend say That either of them suck., And guess what else, If you play both you might like both, you may even like one more than the other, and then change your mind.

You are allowed to change your mind right.

My Personal opinion is I will Like which ever one releases first the most, Then 2 days later when the other releases, I will play that one.



My final opinion on GT4
👎 After getting tired of the same songs on GT4, I will turn them off... Strike ONE
👎 After wanting to tell my friends how great this is only to find out they don't care about Offline games... Strike TWO
👎 After playing Forza ON LIVE, I will be addicted to having similar fun that GT4 gives me, but with 5 other people at 3 O'clock in the morning.
👍 Builder And crew at GTH.D2G.com, will have the cracked code ready for me to start making my hybrid cars and My LIVE friends will think I'm dead.
👍 I will buy New DRAWERS after I play GT4 On my high Def, and then I will probably get used to it until I crank up the volume with the Superbird.
👎 I will Get so caught up in Hybridding, I will never actually play GT4 to the fullest, and will be bored when the online pack comes out and I can't use my Hybrid cars, due to ToS issues, And will be stuck with cars that now feel like snails.

Its all a matter of opinion. i think my brothers favorite car in GT3 was the corvette 706. Its all about taste. cant assume everyone feels the same as you do. If that were true this world would be one boring place and you would have no one to argue with.

Just so everyone understands... Yes I am Biased, but in 2 ways. I am biased towrds XBOX for the fact that It HAS the best ONLINE Experience. I am Also Biased because I am a GT Fanboy. Now put the 2 together and I have choose My priority... On LINE.

Sorry, But its the nail in the coffin for people with 2 systems, and again in the long run, Just like the systems, the one who releases first will have the best, and once the latter is released, people will have a CHOICE.

I personally don't want a choice, I want one now and the other in a month, But I will get both on release day.

As for being unbiased, If you are reading any of the !!!!172!!!! pages, You already have an Idea of what you want... just the fact that there are this many pages means most of you have an Xbox... If not you are fighting a battle you don't even need too.

Lets just pretend you will get both games... you WILL PLAY both, You will like both, and you will come back here to read everything possible to find out everyone elses opinion, and to gloat to others about how you do.

Pretend that you Love both games, Well that is double the gloating you can do, and guess what else, I will Do the same thing, everywhere I go too. That is why I love these games.

So when you hear about my 92 Honda prelude, that is 4wd, and has a 1300 hp twin turbo Viper v-10, and you think I am bragging, someone right behind me will have one better.

Playing online sucks.

1. There is lag (not noticable, but it's there, and it will/could screw you)

2. People disconnect after they know they're about to lose

3. People disconnect because something happens to their connection

4. You'll always find some tard who would rather just chrash into cars because it's fun.



Even if GT4 was online, I wouldn't play it online for those reasons listed above. I'd only download stuff (if that was possible), but I don't even have a HD for it. Plus you have to pay money to play it on XBOX live.

IMO, nothing is more fun then getting a bunch of guys (hopefully with some girls) all racing together in the same room drinking some beers.

Oh yeah... Gek54... thanks for posting those pics... That leads me to believe that GT4 will look better than I thought, Ever since I got my HDTV, I can't be bothered playing GT3 due to the fact that the upconversion my tv does makes the pixels drag. It looks great standing still, but watching replays, I feel like I'm playing GT2 on my PS2 while I was waiting for GT3 to come out, Yeah, I thought It was great looking then, but the release of GT3 ruined the concept I had of the way that PS2 "UPGRADED" the graphics of PS1 games.

You can see all the imperfections in the textures on GT3 on high def, Like the Weird colors inside chrome rims and the chainlink fences, and especially on the retaining walls

Yes it intentionally tries to make Forza look better by showing off what it does better. I dont think Forza will be better in every way but yes it does alot of things better. You cant deny that. If crash physics, sound and ferraris are very important to you while you have a strong distaste for underpowered cars then this video would not be seen as biased. Just becuase you feel GT4 has other points that are important to YOU it doesnt mean the points the video made are "stupid". To me, and many others, GT4 is not a racing game. It's a driving simulator. I don't put in this game and get excited for a race. I put in this game and get excited because I'm going to see what new lap time I can set in what car. What NEW car I haven't driven before, that I can drive now. To me, this is the greatest replay value of all.

Why is racing in GT4? Or in any GT for that matter? To sell it. But it's NOT a "racing game". It was created for cars, and yes racing is a part of it, but at it's heart, it's a driving game.

So with that said, does the lack of "online" and yada yada bother me? No. Because I didn't buy GT4 to race, I bought it to drive. I find it much more challenging to constantly race myself, and beat out my own times, rather than someone else. This way I can constantly improve, and always beat myself, and not have to deal with good competition being "online"...THIS is what's important to me.

If other feel the same way, great. If not, great. But this is what I think GT is, so online etc, not a big hit, the people who know what the game is, will enjoy it for exactly that. SO stop trying to convince everyone otherwise.

Forza is a racing game. That's where it's focus is, and it does it very well. Enjoy it, enjoy them all.

I do go by that arguement for myself. If someone made a video that went on about how GT4 has a photo and B-spec mode while forza doesnt have a TFF wheel or 700 cars, I would still agree that the said video is making perfectly legitamate claims.

What the video demonstrates is how the cars in both games bounce off of each other and walls. While neither should bounce as much as they do, one game does bounce more realisticly than the other, obviously that game being Forza.

About the pics...Nothing wrong with posting pics, it's a good thing. But try putting them one under the other next time. It makes the whole page much easier to read.

As far as the vid....you always tell me to get over stuff. Well, you posted the vid and didn't make any comments about it being a biased presentation. This means you share its views. I never said the points are stupid, man, you keep saying I said that and I never did. What I'm saying is that it's stupid. If I saw a commercial for a new GTO for example and in it you see the GTO passing a Hyundai Elantra. This would be a pretty biased compression that really wouldn't make any sense because the cars aren't in the same class. See what I'm getting at yet?

Yeah, Forza has crash physics that are totally unrealistic, but there just the same. That gives it a bit more over GT4 in my book just because you can total your car. This DOES NOT mean that the overall physics of Forza will be better then GT4. Yep, Forza seems to have the sound. I can't verify this having not heard both Forza and GT4 in person. But I'll just concede on that point from the reports from reliable sources. That just leaves the car situation. Yep, Porches and Ferraris are great. So, a game is better because it has those cars? Hmm....doesn't really make sense to me. I'm talking about over all appeal here. Most car enthusiasts like selection and options. 700 > 200 last time I checked.

But anyway, how about you just say that the video was deliberately demeaning the GT series, which is what I've been saying the whole time, and we'll call it a day.

Crash physics are the only thing that may stay true, engine sounds are all new in gt4 thats one of the reasons this vid is so laughable, Forza is going too have these so called underpowered cars too, too make the vid fair they could have compared a Ruf from gt3 too the porshce that is a far closer match than the crappy car they used in the vid, gt also has alot of things forza doesnt, like the lemans circuit many hundreds of cars forza wont have, a rally mode, weather effects like wet circuits etc
