About the pics...Nothing wrong with posting pics, it's a good thing. But try putting them one under the other next time. It makes the whole page much easier to read.

As far as the vid....you always tell me to get over stuff. Well, you posted the vid and didn't make any comments about it being a biased presentation. This means you share its views. I never said the points are stupid, man, you keep saying I said that and I never did. What I'm saying is that it's stupid. If I saw a commercial for a new GTO for example and in it you see the GTO passing a Hyundai Elantra. This would be a pretty biased compression that really wouldn't make any sense because the cars aren't in the same class. See what I'm getting at yet?

Yeah, Forza has crash physics that are totally unrealistic, but there just the same. That gives it a bit more over GT4 in my book just because you can total your car. This DOES NOT mean that the overall physics of Forza will be better then GT4. Yep, Forza seems to have the sound. I can't verify this having not heard both Forza and GT4 in person. But I'll just concede on that point from the reports from reliable sources. That just leaves the car situation. Yep, Porches and Ferraris are great. So, a game is better because it has those cars? Hmm....doesn't really make sense to me. I'm talking about over all appeal here. Most car enthusiasts like selection and options. 700 > 200 last time I checked.

But anyway, how about you just say that the video was deliberately demeaning the GT series, which is what I've been saying the whole time, and we'll call it a day.

That is one big picture not 2 side by side. I guess I could have cropped them into to pictures and then hoted them myself but I didnt think that was worth the effort just to keep that page of the thread skinny. If its anyone else complains I will change it.

I posted the video becuase I thought it was a very interesting comparison, especialy the sound comparison. If GT4 was much different from GT3 then yes I would have said the comparison was lame but since GT4 has changed very little in the sound and colision departments then I can easily apply what I see in their video to what happens when I play GT4.

The video didnt say the over all physics would be better in Forza, only the collisions. You are reading too much inbetween the lines.

As for the car count, you could always aregue Qaulity > Quanity :sly:

I do go by that arguement for myself. If someone made a video that went on about how GT4 has a photo and B-spec mode while forza doesnt have a TFF wheel or 700 cars, I would still agree that the said video is making perfectly legitamate claims.

What the video demonstrates is how the cars in both games bounce off of each other and walls. While neither should bounce as much as they do, one game does bounce more realisticly than the other, obviously that game being Forza.

It's not a legitamate claim. I can go against Microsofts wishes and cap TONS of video of cars FLYING when they hit walls, cars, bumps, tons of stuff, it HAPPENS. You played a polished up demo yada yada, whatever. I've seen many more cars in action, and I can tell you the video shows the good, none of the bad. I've seen all of the bad from both games.

I have the Japanese GT4 and the Forza demo running side by side in my room and still the sound in Forza is vastly better. My next door neighbor owns a 2004 vette and trust me, it sounds much more like Forza than GT4. I will look for a vette vid to show you. It seems like all GT4 does is increase the frequency of the engine noise as the RPMs increase while Forza sounds like its using several different channels increasing the frequency in some channels at a faster rate then others giving the sound much more depth.

The sound may well be better in forza that doesnt change the fact that the sound has changed since gt3, it makes the vid look very bias i havent heard many cars in forza the ones i have heard sound great, with 700 odd cars youre going too get some that sound better than others the Vtec engine in gt4 sounds lovely for eg

Apples taste much better than appleseeds, and Oranges taste better than Orangeseeds, But don't compare The seeds to each other, and You should avoid comparing apples to oranges, because you end up sounding bananas.

it seems that only a few people understand where I'm coming from, Live4Speed, Akak and others. But that's cool as long as somebody else gets it 👍

So, can we stop talking about the vid and start talking about the games again?

You know, the only thing that I DON'T like about GT4 is that it lacks an internet mode. LAN play is ok, but I want to play friends from across the country without a bunch of hassle.

Does anybody else here think this thread is becoming a little pointless. It is near impossible to compare three good, comparable racing games (GT4, Forza and Enthusia) before the games have even been released and so everybody has just started to insult each other instead. The thread is getting worse as more people post in it.

I agree, I think this thread should be locked now, if anyone wants to discuss Forza any more they can go into the X-Box section but this GT4 v Forza comparo is going no where, it's just become a place where members are coming to vent their anger and frustration on each other.

Der Alta or another mod, go ahead and close this one. Half of it (including some of my stuff) should've been in the PM system anyway.

Yes, this thread has come to the point where nothing can be resolved.

Its just Forza wanters veruses those who are die hard GT Fanboys.

That's a bit unfair. You know, just as well as I do, that there are enough Forza "fanboy's" out there in this thread to balance out the odds, so to speak. To call fans of GT "fanboys" yet make Forza fans sound more dignified by calling them "Forza wanters" is unfair.

I am, and will, play both, both are enjoyable, GT just gets more time due to FF wheel factor. Both are excellent games.

Well I think X-box has a better value overall...
Forza does seem to be its own game (btw the AI learns from you on Forza.... If you want good AI I'm guessing Forza is the way to go... I guess thats the plus of having a functional Harddrive)
Online mode is pretty cool... I read that (IGN) it is possible to do your career mode online against other people... Trading cars online... Options for damage is pretty cool... (off- cosmetic - limited - full damage)...

I think if you are thinking of getting Live... Go for Forza... There are many other racing games that the PS2 misses on this game (If you live in the U.S.)

Offline... It would be preference of the style of gaming you want I guess... Forza has a drivatar system where your car gains levels (more like reputations or something) and you can get hold of sponsors and new cars (free cars from sponsors).. It is also interesting to note that when you start the game, you pick a region that you belong to (U.S. Asia, Europe etc) and cars in those areas are cheaper and are unlocked faster or some thing... That is pretty neat and different from GT4... I've already mentioned that A.I can learn your driving style... Which ups the challenge... While not making it too harsh...

GT4 does not have a drivatar system per se... However, license tests... And the racing itself seems like a development process... (Unless you cheat and gain a lot of money by GameShark or something... It defeats the purpose of GTs flow...) Sadly, online is cut for now... The AI is not smart... And garage battles are gone (This hurts the game a lot!!! Forza sounds better in these aspects... Truely light years ahead in my opinion... Well blame the PS2 and Sony for its crummy online capacities)... But it does have more cars and from what I've heard and read... still the best console sim... Photo mode is more than a aftertouch... (I think I'm gonna waste countless hours on this mode)... And apparently B-spec is also good... (There are many GT guys here so I don't think I need to say more)

But just looking at the console... X-box gets my vote (especially if your going online)... In my case... I bought a PS2 because of GT3 so... (Online was not an option for me...)

I will too.

But yes, I admit that was a bit bias.
This thread is more like made up of...

GT Fanboys
GT Players
Forza Players (Soon to be)
Forza Fanboys.

Guys, hey. If you like one of these 2 games, good for you. Buy it. If you like both of them, buy both of them.

But please, this bickering is going nowhere and isn't helping to prove one game is better than the other. B/c neither of these games are better. Why?

B/c when it comes down to it...its not for us who's to say which ones better...But the players themselves.

Now, we can lock this thread in peace b/c I'm sure everyone has come to the point to realize thisgoes nowhere.

The issue I see Is we are all RACING fanboys... to a point, and for us to try to say one is better than the other, is going to be sketchy. What we should be doing is petitioning these two companies to work together to make one good game, for both consoles that is cross console on line compatable.

We would probably have an easier time doing that, rather than comparing the two games, both which are unreleased.

but I prefer to dream like you guys, and hope that one is Better than the other, and in order to be the best, it has to win in all categories, mainly because there are so many aspects to compare, they will appeal to different audiences... some of us just want to have it to make nice wallpapers, some of us want to use it to relax and just drive around Nordschleife in a mini coop, some of us want to drag race all night long, some want to create frankenstein cars with the help of our pc (ME), some of us want to collect every car possible, some want to race their friends, some just want to collect all the games so one day they can show their kids what kind of cars were popular when they were kids, and some want to play through the entire game and prove to them self that they can beat the entire game... maybe even all golds.

I myself want to be able to do all of these things, and I want to be able to play online... So I will have to wait for PD to step up, and for sony to stop pulling punches with the hard drive for the PStwo, that is the real reason for no online, since the new HD will have the network connection for an all in one package, and be compatible with both versions of PS2 and PStwo.

till then I will play forza online, and GT4 offline.... unless someone gets a tunneling software going that will hold up will the demand to play GT4, if it is any consolation, I remember playing LAN with my neighbor, and you could not use your garage cars, only the default cars.

Thanks for the pics Gek54. Though the aspect ratio looks a bit scewed. I'm sure that wasn't on purpose.

guys i am new in gt4 forum but i will say this forza for me is an arcade game.
but in one month my dream will come true playing my gt4 game with my
real car m3 csl in nurburig course and another 600+ cars to test on various
courses plus modifying my m3 putting nos which i would't do in the real life.
And at my house i have a 42inch plasma+sparco racing chair+dfp wheel what else
do i need, maybe next year when i get tired of gt4 i might give a try on the forza
game. :)

Fanboy alert going down :scared: Forza is not an arcade game, get information before bashing it.
