GT4 vs Forza [Let the battle begin]

The big difference in the two games is the car mosels that were chosen, Honestly sometime I think that PD doesn't ask the players what cars they would like to have in the game, I mean seriously GT series has been around for almost 8 years, why in gods name do they blind eye what is being asked for. Sure there are plenty of cars that people would love to drive, but why put in cars that no one WANTS to race. How often do you pull up to a light on your way home from work in your honda oddessey, and rev your engine to see if the guy in the rx-7 has the nards to step up?
Case in point, there are at least 15 cars that are in the same magnitude as the oddessy, No not the pick up trucks, we DO want them in there, I'm talking about the small model suv's and station wagons.
Lets say I have enough money to buy the stagea, and I go into the Nissan dealer, Right next to the stagea I see a silvia and a skyline, both of which I can buy, other than the fact that there is probably some wagon races in the game, I would never want to buy that over the skyline.
What is the prize for winning the wagon cup? in the US it will probably be another wagon... why not just put go carts in instead of the wagons, actually just scrap the whole thing...
There are at least 10 car I can think of that should have been in the game, that just didn't have the development time.
84 Shelby charger... weak but a collectors item.
85 Shelby GLH... quite the amazing vehicle if you can find one.
95-99 Olds Aurora... quite the sleeper car
99 Acura 3.2 CL
the JUDGE GTO... sheesh get the right one already
The dodge charger with the billet grill... can't remember the exact year
99-00 Nissan MAXIMA... yes this is a real car in the US
01 Crown victoria... yup a cop cruiser.
97 Chevy impala ss... are you crazy why is this beast not in here already?
03 Cavalier... focus is not the only american compact sports car, better than sunfire too.
01 Harley davidson F150... for you truck lovers
01 Lincoln Blackwood... in the same vain as the f150, just not for cargo
I could go on, but 12 is good for now. I do understand that there will be an expansion disk, but when. If not before the first next gen console hits, it will be all for naught, unless its really cheap, but to have to by more hardware to use it, I think most will opt for the next console, instead of shelling out the cash for a hard drive and a network connector and a $30 expasion disk, you could be half way to that console, and probably an awesome NEW Racing experience.

I personally play the game from the 3rd person perspective... I don't want to look at the booty of some of the CRAP cars you speak of...
other than that, I do like the slow cars... since I am a hacker, I just imagine how an AZ-1 would fare against a RX-7 after I dump the Triple Rotor from the 787B into it.
Other than that, what cars are you able to afford at the start of the game... the crap cars of course... unless you get golds in the license tests, in which case you get bad ass cars for free... now those crap cars will only get purchased for sanctioned races that require crap cars, most of which you can buy a good car that will qualify to race, but how hard would it be to whip the game, if the AI is all driving those crap cars... not very. if like the first 3 games, only 2 of the cars match your performance, you are guaranteed to come in at least 3rd, provided you are not new to driving games.
I can distinctly remember the first time I played the test track in GT2, and what did
I find racing me but an altezza, a skyline, a lancer, Race edition RX-7 and that darn 180sx Drag car, the first 3 cars were passed within 20 seconds, while I had to bust my ass to catch up to the RX-7, meanwhile the 180 sx was 15 then 20 then 30 seconds ahead.
After losing I went and souped up a skyline, and lengthened out the gears to do the race again, this time there was no drag car, just a bunch of Mine's modified cars. Needless to say I finished way ahead, but if the drag car WAS in the race, I think I might have not won...
It's odd the way the game sanctions the races.

WOW, Forza is such an awsome game. I've had the demo for a month now and have been playing it with the view over looking the car. I had no sence of speed when I played like that so I would always go in the turns way to fast and just spin out.

I can see where you're coming from in both posts. But there is a place for the underpowered cars and the super cars as well. I personally really enjoy racing under the 250hp mark. Just cause you can't use power to keep up.

no it is 654X3 but nice try.
The lemans 787, not the 787b, had a R26B quad rotor. the 787B has the 13 J-M 3 rotor.

I was looking forward to forza, but I was sooooo disapointed when I got the demo last weekend! That game sucks!!! Where is the driving feeling? The noise is good, but even if the cars are nice disigned, it`s just something wrong! PD just knows have to make it real! Forza just doesn`t! Too bad! But then again, no one can kick PD ass in making cars feel and look real!

hey that demo is pretty old but we still don't know what will be better till they come out. i bet this has been said hundreds of times.

That link you provided just says in 1990 Maza introduced the 787 with a new quad rotor engine, nothing about a 787 having a triple rotor engine, the 767 and 757's just before the 787's were introduced had a triple rotor.wonderpill

Hi, this is my first post here.
Straight to business; Actually the two 787b's and a single 787 which competed in the '91 Le Mans had identical quad rotor engines. The 787b officialy has a R26B rotary engine which is a quad rotor engine (654x4)

ok... Your may be right about a couple of the 787b's, most of the had the triple rotar, and a few including the lemans winning one had a quad, but for most of the races mazda entered it was a 3. As for GT4 having which one I don't know, but the triple rotor on put out around 540 hp, where as the quad rotar is about 690.
As a side note, the one in GT3 was also a 4 rotor.
Sorry about the confusion, but instead of dropping that triple rotar, I think I will opt for the Rotar4, thanks fer the wake up call.

NEW DATE= May 3rd Well this is how i see it. Dotn anyone flame me or anythign but it hink its just going to be another tokyo extreme racer with different graphics and different cars to choose from. If it comes out on ps2 though, ill pick it up. I knwo ill sit there for a half an hour with GT4 and Forza in front of me going, hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
