The only times that I haven't seen the tyre heat/wear bars are in the Special Condition Events. And I guess the Liscence Tests and Mission Events if you want to get technical.
Okay, to be perfectly honest, Gran Turismo does involve tyre heat, even if it isn't the most realistic. I'm sure you've noticed that in longer races, the car is pretty loose during the first few corner or the first lap (depending on the type) and then as the tyres turn green, the grip gets better. Personally, I find that the grip improves until the tyres turn around bright yellow, and then they degrade until the tyres are fully red.
It cannot be purely tyre wear, because otherwise, the grip wouldn't improve. The reason it does is because the tyres are warming up. Even though the computer cars don't do it, I often weave back and forth early in a race to warm up my tyres.

forza's uber high texture resolution doesn't mean jack when it is displayed at 30 fps on a low resolution 60hz monitor, in other words: on a TV. It just looks too blurry to see how detailed the game really is.
besides the reflections on the cars look choppy just as they did on project gotham, maybe the reflections themselves have an even lower refresh rate then 30 hz, but i'm no expert on these things.

yeah when the cars aren't moving anyone can EASILY tell, but in motion the low fps kills the detail, that's what i meant to say.

I feel like B slapping PD for making race cars so easy to drive! Driving a race car in GTR is so freaking "ararrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" but I love it. The Lister storm is so tough to handle and when you slam the brakes, it's over for you if you're coming to a turn. You can thank brake locking for that which isn't in gt4! Normal cars in gt4 simulate realistic physics, my good ole 74 2002 bmw drives almost like the real thing and I'm happy with that but the race cars are what really turn me off from gt4. Since the lister in gtr is freaking hard as hell to handle, just imagine how hard a GT one car or a LMP car would be in real life or in gtr. I hear from many people that PD wants to keep the fanbase large and making gt4 harder could damage the fanbase. How about PD giving the best for the casuals and hardcore? They can add aid to make gt4 as easy as possible and with all aid off, have gt4 as tough as ever. If forza's race cars are actually tough to handle, I might consider it a future purchase, if not, I might not get it and stick with GTR, RBR, and liveforspeed.

Depends on what detail you are talking about, temporal detail was halved in 30fps games comparing to 60fps. The sense of smoothness/speed is much better for 60fps.
Forza team should decrease the track/car detail and make it 60fps, but anyway, all the high profile racers (that I know) are 30fps on X-BOX.
I can not believe you people are still comparing two of the greatest car games to come out by the ******* GRAPHICS! Get over it! The Forza Demo is 1Yr's Old. You will not know whos is better simply because there made for two completey different reasons! Racing and Driving. Forza will be the best RACING sim to hit the shelves in years. GT4 is the best DRIVING sim to ever come out. Both will be in my collection.

Not many people have seen or heared the new M5 Kev, hardly anyone knows what it sounds like, so you never know 
. The kid's probably quite young, I wouldn't call him stupid without knowing him at least, for a comment like that, some of the cars sound right but theres plenty that don't.

did anyone see the newest popular science? they tested forza by allowing a professional driver and a gamer to drive 6 cars in the game, and on the same track in real life. The article dissmissed gt4 from the test, saying that the physics and such of forza were just so much more realistic. the article makes forza sounds amazing, i am acctually thinking about getting an xbox for it. its a good article, its a must read.

Did I say anything about Engine noises, erm, NO. I said it sounds good, not ''the ENGINE NOISES sound good''. So before you start insulting me by saying im stupid and that i dont have a clue, get your facts straight. True, i dont know enough about Forza to make a very clear judgement, i was just giving my current opinion, this dosent give you any right to insult me and before you wonder am i going to insult you, im not because i am open minded and i believe people should be able to say what they think and not be insulted for it by people like you.

But it makes 480p very easy for the XBox.
Some XBox games look allright even at 30fps (Chronicles of Riddick, for example)
And you know what else?

I bought it because it was a good alternative to buying a $200 video card.
I had 3 certain games in mind : Halo2, Half-Life2, and Doom3.
The first one was a bit of a disappointment after all the hype it got.
The second one will never come out for XBox (because it's too weak)
And the third one might just be the game to have for the XBox.
I'm not dissin' the 'box itself, just some of the games and the hype they get.

Totaly agree, yes the box is a good console and yes thats why i own one, but, the number of truly class PS2 games around at the moment is excellent.
Can anyone inform me on a test GT4 and Forza undertook. Apparantly GT4 got closer to a real-life time or somthing, fill me in because ive just heard rumors??
One important thing to me when deciding which version (PS2 or XBox) of a game to buy, is how the controller works with that type of game.
Racing games : good controller for both
FPS : 4 shoulder buttons is definitely an advantage over 2 triggers.
Fighting : hard to say...

--I hate having to take my thumb off the look stick to jump in Halo2.
--I can't imagine playing SSX on the XBox...can anyone tell me how the controls are laid out?
Overall, I prefer the feel of the DualShock2.
