Dammit you, I thought I'd be off pretty easy for the rest of the week.

I'll improve my time tomorrow. :mischievous:

Lol perfect you should know better then that theres always someone lerking but to be honest it did take me abit of time and stress to catch u up catch ya later ;)

QUIK!

having played almost 2 hours my best so far is: t1:0'28.083 and t2:1'07.571 which was almost the only clean lap i got.

I couldn't beat your second sector time in my latest session, but I improved my final time by 2 tenths, so I'm hoping that will be enough.

Because I've had ENOUGH. This car is absolutely, completely, and utterly, a massive steamy pile of crap. I refuse to drive it any more. I can say without any further thought, that this is absolutely my least favorite car in GT4, and a horrible example of what a race car should be IMO. I won't be submitting my times just yet, but I'm not driving this pos again.[/rant]

(words that aren't allowed in gt4 will only begin to describe the hate I have for this car.)

Well Perfectbalance its ashame im sure you will get me on the last sector, i think u'll run one last time before tuesday ;)

The car is hard to handle and a lot of stress i know, but ive had a couple 1'06.5xx's but not clean so im gonna run one more session before closeing date, because i think my last sector could do with abit of work!

QUIK!

P.S is it me or as the forum gone quite last couple of days?

A small improvment on t2 for me.

T1: 27.766
T2: 1.06.906

But improved my lap time by 0.8xx!! Does show again how my final sectors sucks most of the time. But I think its good enough this time :)

Finally, clean splits to post. Too bad my final sector is a bit timid, I'll have to see if I can improve.

27.156
1:05.756

I've run about .2 better at T1, if I can match my time through sector 2 and run the last segment right I can probably shave .4-.5 off the lap. In theory......

Okay, NOW it's getting frustrating. It's really fun until you try to get those last couple tenths, than it becomes a nightmare of wall taps and missed braking points. I now have better splits, with a crappy finish, and at least three tenths left just in the first two sectors. But... my previous best lap was dirty :guilty: upon further inspection at the chicane (there's that frustration!), so this .055 slower :( lap will have to do for now.

T1 - 27.350 (I've figured out the first corner, so I once had a .0xx  but couldn't hold it together)
T2 - 1:05.861 (gotten .71x and messed up the chicane)
Then I proceeded to drift from wheelspin from the curbs through the two turns after T2 and miss the line in the chicane a bit (close on the inside  wall, but I checked thoroughly this time, and it was clean). But good enough, I'm done for now.

Well I've tried my best to avoid the wrs this week but alas, I'm hopeless :P

I ran a quick second session the other day and got down to 1'06.8 t2 and stoped, just fired up the ps2 and I'll have some splits up in a few....

EDIT: 27.641(27.35) / 1'06.432

I was doing pretty good after t1 untill I decided to have a peel out fest on the tracks before t2 :dopey: Not too bad, should be able to clean it up enough to get that .432 off.

Mild improvment

28.523
1'07.536

Progress on this combo has been seriously halted thanks to the Albert Park GP :)

Even though I had a run tonight, I can't see myself improving. Street courses are not my specialty :(

Haven't touched this in a few days. Will try to give it another go later today or tomorrow.

Same here, but should get plenty of time to try and improve today.

No-one should be worried :D

Last session - I lost track of how many times I lost low 1'05's at the last corner: more than 20, for sure. :ouch: I ended up with a lap only 0.6 off my virtual best, which is not that bad, considering the race conditions.

Anyway, my splits are:
0'27.183
1'05.474
27.0 and 1'05.0 were my limits

I enjoyed this race a lot, despite losing so much good laps. City tracks are my favourite ones 👍 Submitting...

Time submitted.
The t times never improved in a total clean lap. The submitted lap is quicker, only by .150 of a second though.
I was hoping to run this with no TCS, but I'm not skilled enough yet. The hardest part of tire spin was not the beginning of acceleration, but with the weight transfer and a little sliding, add acceleration to it and the car would slide the rear too much. I had trouble controlling it . Maybe on a wider track it could work for me. It certainly was a lot easier with TCS. If I were more patient on acceleration I would have done better with this combo. It did feel good running the T1 - T2 area correctly.
Even if it was only once.
Congrats to all that ran this weeks combo enough to enjoy it. Remember its all in fun.

esh
Someone make an avi of his lap so us NTSC'ers can see this...

I definitely agree. That's one insane lap, and I'm sure it's legal, but we could all do with tips his lap could provide.

I'm submitting. I have no more time before I leave for England Tuesday morning. I'm not totally happy with my time, but hopefully it's enough for silver. Don't do anything fun next week, because I won't be able to run it! :sly:

Dan is screwing up  all the fun for the rest of div1, and I can understand why some of the newbies bring back the discussion of a new class, so don't be too harsh on them please.

New board - don't think I ever saw such a big diff between spot # 1 and 2 in Luxy  EDIT update up to post 118 and btw george & bart - looks like you mates are avatar lovers of the same kind

Submitting my own craplap soon and hope Jerry will post 152 today rather than tomorrow ...

Time submitted from last splits I put up. Didn't have the time last night to try this again and am not feeling it this morning as I have work in a couple hours and don't want to spend any time in my basement.

Amazing lap by the Aussie. Hope to see it! 👍

EDIT: Just realised it's running til tomorrow?? Oh well, not gonna have time tomorrow either :/

Difficult.. just achieved these splits:
T1: 27.776
T2: 1.06.571

But there are two very close call's. I've checked it in photo mode and they both look close but clean to me. I've also looked in the data logger but i'm not sure what to look for... I don't see any sudden speed drops.. There is one section where the speed drops for 0,1 km/h while i'm full on the gas...

It might be a good idea to send your lap to someone for a second opinion. If I remember from last week, you had to use Bart's max drive. Maybe he can take a look for you?

On the data logger, note the area of the track and the car's speed at the time of the suspected event. Go to that point of the track in the logger. Use the right joystick to stretch the line longer (move to the right) to give a better read on speed changes.
A drop of 0.1 sounds like a shift. Note your MPH on shift points as well, just to be sure. Wall touches normally drop speed 0.5 mph or more, so that is more like 0.8 or 0.9 kph.

I am trying my best to catch you. No significant improvement in my splits, but I have been getting better on the 2 chicanes in the last sector. I think my bast save has a T2 that is about 0.1 better than my splits on Luxy. I have tonight and then I am done. Good luck!

I'm afraid I won't have time to check it before tonights deadline. I've got band rehearsal in about one hour, and won't be back till after the deadline... So I'm afraid you're gonna have to use your best judgement...

As for me, it wasn't really my combo, and didn't improve on my previous lap :indiff: So I'm submitting my craplap (love that word :sly:)

No doubt. Normally I'd be happy with my current splits and where I'm sitting on the board, but knowing there is so much time left on the table makes me wonder where I'm screwing it up-I wonder if it's a corner I'm getting completely wrong, or the accumulation of small errors. Judging by Holl's T1 times, I'm not getting the chicane before the start/finish line correct.

My biggest improvements have come under braking-I can brake later and still stop shorter by not slamming them on-but my corner exits are inconsistent.

Anybody want to take a trip to Seattle with me and rip up those freaking railroad tracks just before T2? I've killed many a good lap with wheelspin not being careful over those. I also have developed a strong hatred for Valvoline, as I have been stopped dead in front of that sign on the right in the final chicane more times than I care to think about. Wham!

I think you'll find, if you do get Dan's lap up as a replay, that he's consistent, and smooth.

Past experience has shown me that my lines are right and my ideas on how to tackle a course are spot on, but the difference comes with smoothness and one key factor when it comes to Dan:

Corner speed.

He's educated us all on it before, in various WRS events, that the key to his success is watching his speedo while he corners, and making sure if he can take it faster, he does.
Once the limit is reached for that turn, he moves onto the next.
I hope Dan will back me up here.

The other determining factor is of course, that he's from ZARG.

:irked:👍
Sick times Holl.

Steven, Bravo on running a city course!! I know it's not your cup of tea but, nice effort! :)👍

Submitted my time as well. It wasn't much but I only had two days to run and it usually takes me a lot longer than that to come up with a decent time. (div III)

Kenny, nice to see you back my friend. Trust you'll take care of yourself for the next few weeks and lay low. :sly:

Bring on 152 I say!! Onward:tup:

Also promised to give this one a go so here I am:

26.947
1'04.926

Can see the low 1'04's and driven a few mid 1'04 T2's, but that curbstone after T2 was killing me everytime :yuck:
Need at least 2 more hours to be somewhat competitive on this combo...

It's a fun one to drive fast for sure! ... but also a frustrating one to drive on the limit :ouch:

Up to next week :)
