Wow do i feel slow, I'm at least 1 sec off of your guy's times in T3... I can't really pinpoint where I'm going wrong but there's got to be some way to pick it up. Good job though guys 👍

Update People

T1 19.467
T2 37.309
T3 57.290

I've submitted this time to CFM, thats just about as fast as u can possibly go. Cheers, Daniel.

Where are you located, Cyril?

The only places that reach far down enough to be considered on the Mediterranean Sea (as far as I know) are Spain, Italy and Greece.

I thought you were in France? :dunce:

Spain, France (the French Riviera), Monaco, Italy and Greece all have Mediterranean coasts.

I suppose I'm not that far from Belgium. I'm only 10 minutes from the southernmost Eurostar terminal in the UK... :D

Update :

T1 19.851 (gained)
T2 38.828 (better time, but lost time in sector)
T3 1'00.282 (gained time again)

Will see if can get that T3 to where I would like it for me tomorrow. Want to break that 1'00.000 mark.

Indeed. Plus Croatia, Bosnia...
The french Mediterranean coast is about 500km long, from Spain to Italy (except Monaco but this is really small). I'm next to Toulon (halfway between Marseilles and St-Tropez), about 2 miles away from the sea.

I ran a few laps this morning, and discovered that staying flat-out in the long right curve between T1 and T2 actually helps me a lot. I don't mean that I don't brake, but that I don't release the gas at all, even when I'm shortly braking.
I saved a 19.708 / 38.348 / 59.335
Hopefully I can shave half a second off in my next session.

i finally submitted my time, no way was i going any faster. lol

T1: 19.587
T2: 37.573
T3: 58.267

looks like its gonna be one heck of a close leaderboard

O.T. If anyone here was in the WTCC 2005 could you tell me what car you were running as im trying to get the driver list back and need your help, thanks

also we need some JGTC GT300 runners so if your interested PM me, thanks

Finally!!

one good lap
T1 19.692
T2 38.097
T3 58.652

god knows how, but that's 0.5s improvement in each of the middle two sectors!

Gonna submit new time to CFM now, know it's no-where near any of the fast boys but i think it's the best i can do!

we shall see :boggled:

Well, that's it for me. Have managed an improvment of about 0.3 seconds overall, and I've submitted by time to CFM.

T1 : 20.471
T2 : 39.795
T3 : 1'01.319

Let's see what next week brings.

Cheers,

Paul (Div 3, DFP)

frustrating:D

Expecially when I saw a few T2's of 0'37.7xx just to lose it all in the chicane.

Putting together all the best splits and sector differences, I would manage to get a final lap time that is 0.300 seconds faster than the one I have now.

The Wizard.

You said it...! I'm in exactly the same boat. I too have 0.3 s in there somewhere too but I just couldn't string the best sectors together... :banghead: ...

Gonna submit new time to CFM now
Sorry to pick you out of the crowd as I know many others are doing the same thing. This is just a general comment and it's not aimed at anyone specific.

Try to submit only one time. There is no need to submit your time days in advance. I'm sure it only causes more work for CFM and increases the chances of your final submissions in the results being wrong. If you think you MIGHT run again, wait to submit your time until you are sure you won't run again.

With 80ish racers, I can fore-see a one-time submital in the near future if we don't nip this in the bud asap. I understand that once in a while this will happen, but it shouldn't be a weekly occurance.

Again, I'm not picking on anyone, just trying to help everyone involved.

Race on!

all stuff i agree on

Yep i agree, i normally submit a day or less before deadline, as i never know when i may have a "few" more laps on it.

Submitted my time, I know I can't get any more out of that combo. Just thinking about that chicane is enough to drive me to overdoses of Pepsi and chocolate, huddled in a corner of my room, whimpering and muttering something vague about "grass... rumbly thingy....argh!...no more!" and stuff.

:scared:

Def agree guys!

spent 2-3 days not being able to improve, so submitted what i thought was the fastest time i was gonna get.

Then, out of the blue, experimenting with tyre types to loosen off the rear under acceleration (promoting oversteer even with slightly higher max speed settings) i managed to take a second off my times!

So had to do it!

Will know better for forthcoming weeks LOL
:)

what i just figured is gonna drive me bonkers. I figured up all my best sectors and figured a t3 time of .725 lower than my best. That is going to kill me knowing i could be right up with the leaders if i could just settle down and drive.

Hey Villeneuve,
what you frettin about man? have you checked out luxy's board?
You are top of d3 at min!

Damn good times, again!

not too far behind ya now tho, gonna give ya a run for your money when i get completely to grips with this df wheel!

👍

Thanks. 👍

I'm not really fretting, it's just that for me, even if I'm leading, I just want to go faster and faster, a sort of Senna-esque ambition to go as fast as possible. I don't just look at the Div. 3 racers on the leaderboard, I look at everyone, especially the Div. 1 racers and think "Hey, I'm only 0.037 behind him and he's in Div. 1!! It would be awesome for me if I could beat that". I just love the challenge of it all.

But I definitely know I won't be doing anymore for this week! :boggled:

I fully agree to that.
I raced about 35 times in WRS and never submitted twice in the same week. Even when I'm bored, when I think I'm not gonna try again, I still wait until the last day to submit. That makes things much easier to the one who gathers all the times and make the results out of that.
I support the one submission only (that's what I wrote in the Mini Cup rules, and 👍 to the racers over there, nobody submitted twice).

You are absolutely right, I always thought the part of France going from Italy to Spain was on the Tyrrhenian Sea, but it's not.

Note I also went ahead and fixed your color code properly - you had a { instead of a [

There is a very quick and painless solution to this:

stating in the rules that times are to submitted just once, and in case of multiple submissions, only the first will be considered.

This will more likely solve the problem.

Think I won't submit this week, just too frustrated.I almost trew my GT4 disc out of the window when I got a new fastest lap while I screwed it up missing the apex before the strait 🤬

Most definitely.

The driving "aids" only slow you down, expecially TCS (even more when you cannot choose how much traction control you want: with Arcade Mode it's all or nothing).

I used to race with the driving aids on default (back in GT3, at the beginning), but then, after reading how they were so much despised by the fast racers, I decided to turn them off. Gradually, I have learnt to drive better without them.

On a track like this one, with a car like this one TCS only kills your time, by a long shot. All the turns that could be taken at full speed and where you can hear your tires squealing, TCS would kick in and slow you down even by 5-10 MPH at a time.

The only times I found TCS to be useful was when we were using Garage cars in GT3 WRS, where I could adjust the value of the TCS. And that was only for 800 HP vehicles and above, which would spin the tires too much at low gears. I would therefore put a value of 1 or 2 (depending on the power and torque of the vehicle) and that would actually help me gain time.

Hope this helps 👍

The Wizard.
Well thanks for your input, i will try racing with the ASM off first, then move to turning everything off. I just think since turn 1 has so much braking and then i'm sliding through with the throttle on in second gear I might want to keep tcs on for that. But where i think i could save time with it off is on the long swooping right hander you take in 4th at full throttle right before you break hard for the sharp left that you take in second (sorry i don't know turn #). Sometime when I'm go really fast I can get into 5th on that right hander, but then the TCS kicks in and takes my speed down from 127 to about 122. So that's at least five mph and maybe a tenth off my time. I really want to start practicing right now, but i'm too hung over too fully concentrate. Tihs game really takes a lot out of me so I know that unless i'm rested and alert i'm not going to improve on anything.

Cheers,

I beat my fastest lap by 2 tenths yesterday and pressed triangle too many times and exited the screen before i saved it. For some reason i'm having a freakin hernia trying to get that time again.

You have still your other lap. 👍

And I love to see the lap with the 19.126 as t1

Come on, Pink, cheer up. :) . You already got a podium place. That's quite an achievement in this highly competitive division 2. 👍

Why on earth should you ditch that great run.

Glad I could be of help.

You won't regret it, turning the aids off will only make you a better driver, in the long run.

It might seem like you are better off with the aids, at first, but once you learn to control the car and apply the gas gradually/at the right moment, the tires will stick to the ground as much as they would with TCS on.

Then you will be able to take the fast sweeping turns without losing speed due to TCS kicking in.

My latest T's + something odd...

_older____old_____new____latest
20.446 - 19.606 - 19.660 - 19.600
39.133 - 38.139 - 37.795 - 38.025
59.949 - 58.846 - 58.196 - 58.230

My latest, best lap, T times are a little slower however the final lap time is .205 seconds quicker. I suppose I must've carried more speed out of T3 to the line?

 my ghost replay of my best lap got corrupted when i moved it instead of copying it onto my max drive... horribly stupid mistake, wont ever try to move it again :indiff:

so ive already submitted that time, but i had to get a lap close enough to it
and i ended up improving it by .040 basically the same lap...

ive PM'd CFM today to ask if i can resubmit this time only this one and only time.

i know that resubmitting is not allowed

but here are the T times

T1 : 0:19.434
T2 : 0:37.414
T3 : 0:57.347

flat-out

Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina are both on the Adriatic...

This is an unfortunate, but perfect example of when is a good time to submit a 2nd time. 👍

Just hope holl01 doesn't beet you by .039! :scared:

On an actual racing note, I tried this for about half an hour and it's just not for me. I was in the low 38's at T2 and low 58's at T3. I can see the speed to get into the 37's/57's, but it would take me quite while to get a clean lap there.
Might give it a last go before submission time... might not.

Man!

This is downright miserable. You guys are a bunch of sadists! :)

Are there enough people for a Div4 yet? lol. I can't come close to these times. On top of that, I can't even drive without the TCS and ASM on.

On the bright side...nowhere to go but UP!! Woo hoo!

👍
