To keep myself from going insane I'll submit my time now, won't have time to race anymore until deadline anyway. I have no idea why I am so worthless at this combination. :grumpy: I know the track, ok the car is fairly new to me but still.. After say 20 laps I usually begin to improve my time significantly but now I'm struggeling to find an extra tenth.. Have only improved marginally since lap 1 and for the life of me I can't get it right! :ouch:

T1 19.608
T2 38.553
T3 59.094 (I REALLY wanted under 59 but no..)

Submitting and putting a bullet through my ps2.. :grumpy:

Cheers!

(Div 3, DS2)

Sounds like some long hours people have been putting in..

Great to see the times so close. This track as worn me out and i can not improve anymore, so time is in.

Good luck eveyone 👍

And chips, get your finger out mate. That GT Lime Cat is ahead of you!

VEXD

Nice write-out, VEXD.

Now, if only I could understand how to make the car slide, that would be great.

With my way of driving, the car is gripping all the way and I never manage to slide the back end around - and if I do, it's because I am fixing to lose control and the outcome of that is going to be at least a couple of 360's :D

So, can somebody be so kind to explain me how exactly this is done?
(The more detailed the better. As, when to let off the gas, when to brake, when to turn, when to shift, and everything else that is needed to accomplish this technique).

I really want to get into the 57's at T3, and I am already so close. Best T3 I had was 0'58.370. Sure I can find an extra 0.4 somewhere, with this technique.

Somebody, help please!! :bowdown:

And Dion doesn't need to go any faster - he is already well into the 57's at T3 (he told me last night on the Messenger) :D

I finally got a chance to have a second session on this week's combo and I must admit that I'm a little disappointed in my times. After all the time I spent thinking about where to gain speed, I only managed to improve my T3 time by 0.7. I was ahead by almost .5 at T1 but gave most of it up by blowing it in the second sector. I did manage to throw together a 19.4 T1 but blew the lap in the sweeping decreasing radius corner after it.

My new times:

T1 19.762
T2 39.016
T3 59.917

D3 racer using DFP

Another minor update from me:

19.884
38.272
58.653

Very fun to race a track, where every little tenth may actually make a huge different in the results :D

* EDIT *: @ CFM: These times might give a problem when I'll submit them because it could be I'll have to submit a replay (seeing as I'm quiet fast in Luxy's leaderbord).
Now my question:Is it ok as I'll submit my data from the analyzer along with my time?If not, I'll have to submit a slower time :indiff:

Don't despair, Pink. There's always the good old method:
You send you memory-card to a racer, who got a replay device.
He makes the replay and return your card. Very simple and can be done within a few days, if you find some one living not to far away.

I would be more than happy to help you out. :)

My times are not exactly what I want, but I'm going to submit today so I don't spend the time I don't have this weekend. Besides I have 2 car shows and I need to concentrate on shining some chrome and whatnot. Good Luck everyone!!

Another minor update:

T1 19.591
T2 37.921
T3 58.162

I've had a 37.6 in T2 in the past so I KNOW I have at least a half a second more in me since I'm still not comfy in the chicane...

Grr..

WIZARD - its called drifting (the slide job) yes i am full throttle through the long right sweeper from turn 2 all the way to the hairpin (127mph at apex). I have been doing this since gt1, it takes practice and patience. yes the aids are all on. i use a ps2 basic controller. i kind of drive bonzia style though (if im not on the brakes im on the gas) :crazy:

i hit three rumble strips - the sharp left (t2) and exiting the same turn then at the entrance to the chicane.

t3 57.xx

this race to the top is going to be very close - so many close times

Cheers,

Nothing beats the Max Drive. That would be the easy solution. 👍

Sorry for not being clear enough. When I said you could send it, I meant with the post. The memory-card fits easily in an envelope. Drop it in the mail box and within a couple of days, it should reach almost anywhere in Nothern Europe. Denmark is close enough. Otherwise there is lots of English racers, a handful of Dutchmen, and we even got a Frenchman racing here regular. :)

How much does it cost? I've seen it for 30 euros without the costs for sending or how do you call those costs.

They are out of stock at the minute, but they are usually the cheapest. They deliver to Belgium too.

There are also a few Belgians at other board you may be able to end your card to, or even meet if they're not too far away from you. The person I'm thinking of lives in Antwerp.

I can put together quick sectors 1 and 3, but I'm struggling a bit with sector 2. I was wondering if any of you faster folks (which is almost all of you) would share your speeds at two different apexes in the course.

The sharp left turn immediately after the T1 point.

The sharp left at the end of the chicane before the T3 point.

I think I'm to the point of driving the same lap over and over, sometimes eeking out .1 quicker. Since I'm so far off the pace, I've got to change something drastically through some of the corners.

I must admit that taking part in WRS for the first time is a humbling experience!

Thanks!

Thanks!

You can say that again !!

As a fellow Div 3 racer, I am feeling very humbeld by the standard of driving here.

But, things can only get better 👍

Cheers,

Paul

well, i gave it a go and came up with...

19.7??
38.419
59.365

lost alot in the 3rd sector. Gonna have to go and try to make it up....

Div 2/using a DF wheel

just gave up trying too

19.880

38.714

59.537

just can't get any faster!

submitted my pityfull time to cfm

wasn't it Sung Su who said-
'man who tries,tries,and tries again, and fails.
loses what little hair and sanity he has left!' :ouch: :crazy:

I guess I know who you mean ;)
I'm not close to Belgium at all : 1 200 km away southwards, on the Mediterranean Sea. Any dutchman will be closer than me.
Which doesn't mean I can't help, but it has to be through snail mail (post) too.

New Update:
Old: -----------------> New:
T1: 0'19.490 -------> T1: 0'19.452
T2: 0'37.465 -------> T2: 0'37.460
T3: 0'57.568 -------> T3: 0'57.591

Slower T3 time, yet almost a tenth faster at the finish :)
I really want to get a T3 of 57.4xx but just doesn't look like it will happen

The sharp left turn immediately after the T1 point.

The sharp left at the end of the chicane before the T3 point.

For the sharp left turn after T1, i'm around 105km/h (or 65mp/h) but it can definitely be taken slightly faster.

Sharp left at the end of the chicane, i'm around the same speed too... 105-110km/h (or 65-68mp/h). But i am already on the throttle for this turn before i reach the apex.

I'm starting to hate this track.
I have about the same figure as Alpine in the tight corners : 65 - 70. But mine are in km/h, not in mph :lol:
I just can't brake properly and take the turn. I probably spent more time in the grass or sand tonight than on tarmac.
Only 2 days left before that nightmare is over.

flat-out

Where are you located, Cyril?

The only places that reach far down enough to be considered on the Mediterranean Sea (as far as I know) are Spain, Italy and Greece.

I thought you were in France? :dunce:

I'm starting to hate this track.[...] Only 2 days left before that nightmare is over.

I don't really hate this track, but I can see your frustration.
I love this combo, fast car (and similar to one of my favorite from the good ol' times of GT3 - Toyota Denso Supra) and short but technical track.

I improved my time even further, last night, but I didn't think it was worth posting, since the final lap time only improved by 0.029 seconds :lol:

But since I spent another hour today and the best I could get was within 0.2 of that time, I figure I would post it.

Now, after a good 2 hour nap, I feel ready to give this a serious go.
There is at least an extra 0.300 that needs to come off, and then I will be satisfied.

Here are my splits:

T1: 0'19.522
T2: 0'37.907
T3: 0'58.370

i have been messing with this off and on this afternoon. after a short crash here in my bedroom that resulted in some bloody rags....

it seems that i can keep whittling away at my time...no best lap stands for for than 2 or 3 more. I guess thats good. I suppose i have ran about 75 laps in all this week. I will give it another go this weeekend if i get around to it. right now i am not disappointed with my times at...
19.621
38.138
58.6??

OK... I had some time tonight and decided to pop back in GT4 and get a second session in. I was surprised by how fast I was driving. Here are the results of my session:

T1- before (19.449) -----> now (19.391)
T2- before (37.550) -----> now (37.279)
T3- before (57.689) -----> now (57.442) I slowed down too much for the entrance to the chicane.

This'll probably be my final set of T times, if I do get any more out of this track, it'll probably be only about 0.020 or something insignificant. Besides, my right hand's killing me again. Anyway, finally, I broke into the 0'57s in T3. 👍 God knows how many laps I've done up to this point. :scared:

T1 = 1'19.534
T2 = 0'37.777
T3 = 0.57.945

I have to tell you now - I hated this track. If there's anything that's ever scared me in Gran Turismo 4, it's that bloody chicane! Forget the Nurburgring, I adore that as much as seeing a young, pert Felicity Kendal dressed in dirty oily overalls, wellington boots and a cute grin - I LOVE IT - but that blasted chicane before T3 on the Fuji circuit made me panic and tremble, I just KNOW that chicane was laughing at me! :scared:

The hillcrest at El Capitan last week scared me at first but I began to get to grips with it, but THIS... ungh! :crazy:

....

Erm, so anyway, yeah. That'll probably be my final laptime I submit. Ahem.

T1 = 1'19.534

T3 = 0.57.945

JEEZ, Div 3 is no bloody picnic!

I've been analyzing my times against the likes of these and while I feel semi-comfortable with my T1 and I'm losing no time on my T3, I *AM* racing T2 BADLY and I'm losing it all right there ... if I could nail T2, I'd be up there and it's really frustrating me.

And someone said games are meant to be fun :(

And someone said games are meant to be fun :(

When we are talking about WRS, you really need to change that to frustrating :D

That's where all the "fun" lays, in the frustration that comes lap after lap after lap after lap after lap.

I, for example, have just run at least 50 more laps, with the only outcome of lapping consistantly 0.1 - 0.2 away from my current best.

You can't even imagine how frustrating that is.

Expecially when I saw a few T2's of 0'37.7xx just to lose it all in the chicane.

Putting together all the best splits and sector differences, I would manage to get a final lap time that is 0.300 seconds faster than the one I have now.

I know it can be done, but I have had it for tonight.

Tomorrow is another day.
Hopefully it will bring me those extra three tenths :lol:
