im just doing the 24h Nurburgring to get the F1 car but ive got a question...can i just leave it on the Race monitor at 3x speed or do i have to press x everytime i go in pits to confirm it??

The car will enter pits, refuel and change tyres even if you don't confirm by pressing X. But when it will leave pits, you'll be back in view mode and you'll have to switch manually to director mode and set the speed back to 3x.

thats crap - it means i have to check on it every 5 mins or so - plus my car sometimes misses the pit lane cos the tires are so red that it spins on the corner before them and totally misses the pit entrance or takes about a minute to get in it! :crazy:

Yeah, sometimes GT4 sucks.

I used to be good at this combo in GT3, remember racing the route endurance with the F1 car and getting some crazy laps. I'll give it a try, long time I don't race at all...

Yep, and not only that, but it will sit for a while if you don't push x when it first comes into the pits. I've lost overnight races because of the second or two it waits before it starts doing the pitwork.

Well, turn it down a few notches before you get to the pits, or just go one notch slower all around so your tires are a little more grippy by the time you get there...
 
Yeah, I ran at '2' (take it easy?) for the entire race in the Minolta and it was enough. I let it run over night and every 10 or 15 minutes I would check in on him, either switching to directorx3 mode, or encouraging him to overtake and go faster if he was just behind a car or two, and then switched him into Dx3. The whole thing really wasn't that much hassle.
 
There are some STUNNING splits here ... i don't know how you guys are carrying so much speed through the right sweeper and the subsequent 2 left kinks :bowdown:

Did some 30 mins run yesterday in family cup, as it was already 5 am. Just run to see the car´s performance through the track, no clean time yet.
For first lap, i got many 16´s T1, not hard to get, my best 16.4 T1. For T2, got many 44´s also 44.2 best T2.
For second lap, mostly in 10.5, almost 10.4 once. T2 mostly 37´s, and once a 36.9.

I personally think its impossible or very hard to break the barrier i want, but i can come close to it by 0.7 i guess. :)

I will be doing a clean time today, as yesterday was just a testing session.
 
I didn't think fas, Z, and my splits were going to hold up too long....... :crazy:
But I can see where you are getting those splits from Veil. U must have a very nice setup worked out. :)

Well, if a setup for you is just changing LSD, so here you got: 5/5/5 ;)

Nothing special, just changed LSD to corner faster. 👍

hey. I read balls' post. is it hard to flat-out in the kink? I could do that before I made adjustments when the car was stock. I can still do it regardless. but anyway. I did make some adjustments and I was wondering why I was so off the pace(I still am compared to VeilsideBR, jerk). but it turns out I had 20kg's of ballast in the car. I shaved 2 seconds of my time. hah! anyway, here are some new split times. they're a bit quicker.


T1: 0:10.425
T2: 0.38.339


like I said, a little bit quicker but nothing compared to VeilsideBR's time, jerk. and whats this about a leaderboard I've been hearing?

I drive the kink flat out also. The key is very small steering inputs. Like nearly none. If you oversteer even a little, your sideways.

so, in stock form the car has 20kg of ballast weight? if that´s correct, than sweet, i´m still running with those... better take a look at the settings when i get home...
 
I need to find out what color my F1 car is. If it's not red or black, it won't be fast enough so no reason for me to bother. :sly:
 
I've knocked seconds off! :D

Just can't seem to keep it clean, its just the slightest touches here and there :(
 
I need help with the launch... can't do better than 16.8, normally 17.0, and with 17.0 I'm getting 44.7 T2. Fast lap is better, 10.7 and 37.4, but couldn't put anything together yet.

I had no idea that the F1's had some ballest on-board. Didn't even look at it, saw no reason to!

Well, learn something new every day! LOL

And yes the nack to the kink is 'pressure' on the wheel, not input.

Kinda like one of the chopper's that the pilot candidates flew whilst training to be killed in Vietnam, think it was the big bug shaped one. (the Hillier maybe)
Anyway, there was SO much movement in the cyclic from the direct linkages, that the stick vibrated in a random 6 inch area.
If they tried to hold the cyclic still and move it for control, they almost crashed every time.
Allowing the stick to move by itself and just applying pressure to resist the movement in the desired direction worked, subtlety was the key.

Same here, once you set the minute amount of input required for the left part of the kink, just hold it with minimum of pressure and the rear stays planted.

Literally hold it on the edge of the dead-zone, that's all.

Well Fabio, I have no idea what KLR is puttin gin his F1 to get 16.35's, but I'm in the same boat u are with the .8's, .7's and if I'm real lucky .6....gonna try no tcs but in 2nd gear like I did on Tuesday nite (wiht tcs on) to see any improvement. I wish that there was a tcs switch for this car u know, just use it at the start, then turn it off at like 100mph...that'll be the day. Been doin some practice laps and am more than a second faster than I was on Tuesday nite practicing, so thats good. I'm concentrating on 'experimenting' in practice mode, trying to find a faster line and such, then gonna go back into the 'race' and try it out.

no 20kg in stock form, the stock settings are 0 kg maybe the 20 extra kg is due to your fatass in a lightweight formel car. :sly:
