GT4 WRS Week 27: "Formula For Success"

Worthless. I could spend more time on it tonight, but I really think I should get the other things done that I had planned for tonight... I'll have my race by Tuesday, I've got a goal, and I've been there dirty. I could go faster than that goal, but I don't have the time.

It's not so much spin out for me(although it's not like that doesn't happen when I'm off of the correct line for that damn chicane every once and a while...), but oops! Tidbit off the line and WIDE at the exit because of it. This week is VERY much like a shorter session of Week 6 at the 'Ring for me. That week I only completed THREE FULL LAPS! Out of countless hours.

T2 44.891 (seen 44.6XX)
T1' 11.261 and DAMNED embarrassed about it. Slowest T1' on the board! GRR! Seen 10.8s all night
T2' 38.949 (can't complain at ALL with that lousy T1')

Gotta say this is the most gratifying session of WRS in a LOOONG time for me.

I'm done for tonight but I have another session reserved for tomorrow night, maybe some time later this weekend, and of course Magic Time. Look out! :)

p.s. BTW, balls (I think that's who suggested this), thanks for the hint about "using the force" to take the kink flat out. It's made all the difference. In the few laps I'd driven before tonight, I've been steering the car through there (mostly backwards) instead of "willing" it through. Wheee!

and once again we have that freaking stand still start to **** my runs... i remember you could launch your minolta very well, and looks like its the same with the F1...

guess i´ll get a mantra of been smooth, just to remember...

need some playing time today, competition is getting harder... there´s at least 10 drivers going crazy in this race... it will be a very interesting race...

what surprises me is that we´re having 1 second or more difference on the splits, really surprised me... back on the evening with more splits...

btw, i´m also dropping to 6th gear in that fast left, and on the fast right hander before that.
 
Finally got a chance to take out the orange monster and have a run in it. Actually, I'm one of the (probably) few people who are not really fond of this car. It's responses are bit too quick for me :P Reflects in my times as well:

T1: 17.794
T2: 49.350

T1: 11.250
T2: 42.629
 
phew, thats 1 clean lap in 3 hours of driving....Im on my way to that clean 2 lapper :P lol. How are people getting 10.3 at t1? i can break 10.7, guess it must be my gearing, and speed on the straight.....
 
lol! u and me both Randy, 2 hours of playing a few clean laps here and there.. just not 2 in a row.. :(
Submitting a 'clean' time at the end of the week looks very doubtful :indiff:

I thought I was getting better, but still fairly bad!

T1: 17.862 (3rd gear, no TCS start? is there a better way?)

T1: 11.239 :(

The only good thing is that it was completely clean :)

i wish there´s a way to completely take off all additional graphics in the screen... that would help... but always, when i´m at a very good run, i see my splits and 🤬

Had a wee go again last night. I think the key is the black car, but u have to run it in the dead of night, or it just isn't as fast.

Damn, I knew it! Although, what's this? There's an orange car too? I'd be WAY fast in that one. Maybe when I go to the beach I'll put Bspec on the 24hr 'Ring again to see what I get. And very nice splits by the way... I see the T2s that you guys are tossing down, and I get sad... Hahaha, my T2s STILL aren't great. If only I could figure out how to put the rest of the lap together, I didn't think I was doing that bad...

Anyone with a 38.xxx for T2 on the second lap want to share their settings? I want to see if mine are the problem, although I don't think so, but maybe! I am running a bit higher and softer to be more manageable when the track gets tricky...

There aren't any 10.3's for T1 on the second lap... Lewie has the fastest at a 10.6xx so far.

I've seen 10.5xx, but rarely. My setup is exactly what Veil posted yesterday. Thank you sir! 👍 But he didn't say if he was using aids. I am. 1 on TCS. Can't stand the wheelspin, and don't want to lose control if I brush a rumble!
BTW starting in 3 gear, and not shifting up to 7th b4 braking, saved some time for me on the first lap start. ;)

Not sure how a T1 16.4 is possible.......

Personally, I'm running TCS 1, no other aids, LSD 10/5/5, toe 0/0 and launching in 3rd gear ... I can consistently get a 16.6/16.7 T1 on the starting lap ... *BUT* I wonder if my TCS of 1 is then making me slower on the rest of the lap? I may just be a pewpie driver (duh) and I know I should be faster from T1 thru T2 and especially T3 thru End, but running no TCS here may more than make up for the slower start.
 
Finally got a little better clean run in:

17.020 // 44.500 ( seen 44.3 on a 17.0 also, and best T1 is mid 16.7s )
10.764 // 38.209 :yuck: (seen 37.4s and 37.5s but I messed up the double left )

Total time is crappy as both ending sectors were much slower than usual to keep it safe.

Personally, I'm running TCS 1 also. For me it's comfort level. I drive faster if I'm not worried about the ends swappin' all the time. :ill:
Try smaller steering inputs to keep from upsetting the balance too much, and don't drive it like you would a normal car Koly. Keep your foot in the gas and let the enormous downforce work for you. :)
 
Thanks 'Shunt ... I'm trying to do that, but a couple of corners keep catching me out ... the fast left before the starting-straight 'hairpin' is a prime example ... I need to brake less here, take a smoother line and try to keep on the gas more.

Yes, it is possible. 10.3 is probably possible also, 10.4 i got once.

I think it's funny that you post the best T2 splits on the board and then go :yuck:
I'm really sorry, but my pace in practice mode is a T2 of 36.739 with a so-so T1, so I'm disappointed. New splits: ( and probably final since I don't think I'll have anytime til deadline )

16.886 // 44.228
10.898 // 38.444 ( My first lap was great, so I was really nervous for this one )

Total is so-so cuz of 2nd lap.

Bah, I give up, I don't foresee I'll have any more time to run this thing til the deadline. But, although I went from .081 to .044 behind the current leader, I improved my final time by 0.59 seconds. I know I'm in division 2 and I'm running quickly and am among the D1 people, but this is going to be a one off week because the combo suits me very well. It's a track from GT3 on which I spent many hours with the F094/S ( Poly 001 ), so I know all about how to drive the F1 on this track.

no 20kg in stock form, the stock settings are 0 kg maybe the 20 extra kg is due to your fatass in a lightweight formel car. :sly:


hey shutup!!!! hehe, I did drop like 30lbs somehow in the past couple of months :odd:. and I think the F1 car doesn't come with ballast, I belive it was just some other settings from previous tunings I forgot about. heh. I'll respond to any other messages when I get to them.

Man o man....this week can just.....I'm so FURIUOS!!! I have just wasted 8 hours of my life since whenever it was I posted my previous splits. I may be done with this garbage; NOT HAPPY! Sorry to vent guys, but its not fun anymore, this week has already bled my dry. Maybe Monday I'll come back to it. Later.

Fully understood Jerome ... sometimes you need to vent a little ... this game can be as infuriating as it is fun. At least you won't be tempted to run the combo tomorrow; we'll be able to concentrate on some other stuff ;)

Exactly what I was thinking, I have only spent like an hour on my AMC, I truly miss my vette *sob sob*. That alone I'm lookinf forward to ;). But if u want to run the combo tomorrow, I'd love to help ya out for sure!

Holly god, i lost now a lap just 0.1 off my GT3 old lap. Im sure i can get that laptime again, but now on GT4. my best T2 so far 35.9(i mean these things in practice mode) and T1 around 10.19x´s...but i will get it tonight.
 
Oh wow Kolyana, I just saw the Aria Leaderboard.... :nervous: and now I'm really nervous about tomorrow, I need to do some laps tonite it looks like...heheh.
