Btw, flat-out, will the results be at the same time as usual?
What is the time zone you live in?
Something like +1 GMT?
Thanks, later. :D-

I'm GMT+1 indeed, so results will probably be posted later than usual.
The race deadline is exactly at 2pm, french time, when I must end my lunch break and go back to work.
So either we'll have to wait until I'm back home at night, which means I can post the results around 9pm GMT (that's 8 hours after the race ended), or we'll have to shorten the deadline by one hour so that I have time to compile and post all results during my lunch break.

Anyway, I'll post week 31 around 12 noon GMT, one hour before week 30 ends.
(I hope all this makes sense, I didn't re-read the post).

So shorten it.IMHO,and I repeat IMHO,I think that everyoe Is used to results being posted at 2-2:30pm(that's in GMT+1).

Bot,I am 96% sure that I am wrong.

*SIGH* Just when I start to learn this thing, it's gotta end. :nervous:
Last minute business trip all this coming week, so I will have to submit now. :indiff:
Before I post my splits, please indulge me in a description of the journey it took to get it.

As some of you know, this week has been a nightmare struggle for me. I know I'm not alone, but as soon as Cyril posted the race I knew I was in deep doo doo. :scared:

I didn't feel it was an option to skip this week, as I want to honor both Todd and Kent for their work in the WRS. 👍 So I rolled up my sleeves and gave it a good go. I discovered rather early that I sucked just as bad as I suspected, and being the calm, cool, and collected racer I am......... OK. No I didn't suck it up in silence. hehe

So anywho, my best clean lap from Wednesday was with a 6'30 T10. After that, I gave the comp a couple half-hearted efforts with no good results.

So today I thought what the hell! One more shot at it. AND.......still nothing decent. :grumpy:

I then decided to try it in Sim mode with the car set up as close to the arcade one as possible in weight and power. Then I piled on all the other go fast options including a wing, and did a quick adjustment of everything. DAMN!!! This is one rockin' car in GT Mode! 👍 It was soooo much fun just jammin' thru the laps and pulling good T times. So all of a sudden I'm starting to understand this green hell a little bit better, and finding the faster lines in the back section.

So I went back to Arcade mode, hands shaking a bit, and gave 'er a go again. Success! Yay! 5 seconds faster, and clean! Save that bugger quick!

But could I do better? hmmm. Maybe give it another hour, and see what happens. :dopey:

And that's when it really started to fall in place. *angel chorus * So this is the clean lap I will submit. Not lightning in a bottle, (I screwed up T9 royally) but worlds better than what I was doing. I've got several dirty laps that are faster, (up to 2.5 seconds) but as the Brits say.......I'm well chuffed! :)

I finally am starting to understanding this track for the first time, and now..........Ok.........yeah........ it's FUN! 👍

T2: 1'18.603
T6: 3'41.963
T10: 6'19.797

Submitted!

Good luck all! See ya at the flag.

Now HERE'S a inspirational post! I too was in the over 6'30 club, but after some three or four more hours, I've started to come to terms with the track, the car, my driving. I still have doubts that this will currently tranfer to M34, but this I know, I'll try the HECK out of M34 before I do any WRS Wk. 31 to prevent brain leakage and loss of muscle memory.

My current best splits are:
T2 1'19.247
T6 3'44.139
T10 6'21.989

Looks like our T6-on times are similar, but I'm losing too much time in the first half of the lap. I'll really be working out the monkeys tonight!

Can't do it for this week, we're too close to deadline.
Perhaps next week.

Bah! :grumpy:

Ive been soooo busy, it loox like i will have to submit the first lap i ran last week.

This does not make me happy.

We'll see if i can get home early enough to run some tonight.

Glad to see soooooo many posts from Kent in here, i feel like the good ole days are comin back to the WRS, and i may have to start racing here again.

Good luck Chippers.👍
And good luck to everyone trying to tame this beast!

VEXD out for pizza.

:irked:👍

That's already a good proportion.
I needed about 50 starts before I could get my first (and only so far) clean lap.

Ive raced 150mins, no clean and one dirty :( i have no idea where my t10 would be in comparison, lol. 1.18.5 best t2 though, i have no problem getting this far around the track. My problem is i push way to hard. I tried to counter this by loosing 5 seconds a sector, so i ould get a clean. But again i lost concerntration and slowly sped up, till suddenly a corner loomed, and i crashed near t7. I know the track well, just cant race it  Nice going people with a clean lap 👍 i await an easy combo nextweek Flat_out, hint hint

I only wish it was just 3 laps. It's 3 complete laps. I must have had like 200+ starts. Okay, maybe not that many. Maybe only 75ish. Only 25% of them hit T6.

Still better than me man 👍 Only my first couple laps were clean, then for some reason I just hit a wall I spent the next hour or two just trying to get past T6...UGH. Haven't tried it much since :indiff: . Great combo tho dont get me wrong it works, but I need to spend more time at the Ring as its just to HUGE! LOL. That and I decided to take a day off and be about an hour away from beating the newest Ratchet and Clank in one sitting ;)

Jerome

I'm capable of cutting off another 5 seconds. I just think my car has the hiccups and chooses to have them when I approach a corner.

That's my excuse and I'm stickin' to it.

Go get it SHig!!! 👍
If you are at a 6'21 T10, the next step up is a breeze in comparison. It looks like you have the back section figured out, but you can do better on the front.

With a little bit of concentration you should be able to get to the mid-upper 1'18's for T2, 1'47 flat at T3, low 2'38 at T4, 3'15-16 at T5 and if you can hit mutkurve at 118 to 120 mph, you are on your way to a T6 3'41. :)

From there it's a piece of baclava right?

Try reading holl01's lap description of T1 to T6. It was a real eye opener for me anyway. 👍 Although I can't control the car with the same mastery as him, I can imagine how he drives it, which made me a bit faster. :dopey:

Good luck mate! I hope the simian horde is in full song for you tonight!

I don't know if easy is the most appropriate word.
Easier than this week for sure, but perhaps not easy enough to be called simply 'an easy one'. I would say 'different'.

:)

T1 – 0:46.133
T2 – 1:20.636
T3 – 1:49.109
T4 – 2:40.600
T5 – 3:18.983
T6 – 3:45.433
T7 – 4:36.101
T8 – 5:19.410
T9 – 5:41.515
T10 – 6:25.143
T11 – 6:47.723

There’s maybe another second or two that I want to get off this time, then I’ll be happy. I think that’s all I can get off the time before the deadline, we’ll see…

Not much improvement for me unfortunately...

Could only manage the following:

T2: 1'19:791
T6: 3'45:173
T10: 6'23:192

Now, I just have to remember how to get my ghost over to my AR MAX drive... :nervous:
just in case those silly times hold up and need to be verified!

nothing special from me... i say dan will beat my time by atleast 5 seconds

i didnt even break the minute barrier... ouchie

1'18.186
3'40.724
6'15.438

clean the whole way, looked like a real nurb test drive

Is there anyone else that see's Blake's avatar, looks at his splits, and thinks that they have a chance to beat hOt6o4bOi this week? :^)

No offense Blake...

Spent another hour and not satisfied with my driving on this one, the Nurb and I dont get along at ALL. I did my best in my first 2 hours; time submitted. Wondering if we are going to rally next week...hhmm... I am predicting we are going to either Tahiti Maze or Grand Canyon in a standard WRC car. Just my luck, you watch. Just like my luck on trying to get promoted....pppsshhhhh....w/e.

I will run some more now to improve my crappy lap. Even tho, this is probably my last race in wrs and in GT4 before the end of S.O.T.B., as i will not continue with GT4 anymore. Nothing about being disapointed or like that, just found out that now i have other games to play that are better than GT4, i mean, for PC. GT4 was my only one option of entertainment during this all time, but now i have other games that i can play online.

Well, it was a good period, i wish good luck to all ya who will continue, maybe i will race a wrs soon if i like it that much, but i will not continue as i was doing of racing every week.

Ok, thats it. See ya to all you drivers. ;)

I will be posting my splits during the night.

well, sad to see that now i´ll have to carry the flag alone, but well, i know what you mean... just got tired of GT4... well i have a feeling that you will come back, but until, good luck in GTR 👍

well for me, some of those feelings that he had i can also share

lots of pressure these last weeks, i was playing to compete, not for fun.
i mean sometimes it was not fun, just getting frustrated for not been good enough compared to what i was or something like that...

this week i decided to stop this and take it more like a fun thing... well, turns out i didn´t get a clean lap by OLR rules, and i´m not concerned for the first time: reasons are:

1- i hate the car
2 - i hate the way i drive this car, which means, i suck
3 - it was my first time driving nurb for more than 30 minutes in a row
4- i play less than 3 hours on this
5- i really suck with this type of car
6- did i mention that i hate with all my guts those aston martin´s since GT1?

so i didn´t stress with this one, lets just wait for next week, in the mean time i got a supersave and took a ride with lots of cars that i didn´t even know... very fun...

congrats to all that had the patience to run this week, i know lots of people love this car, but its just not for me

so, lets see what do we have in week 31. if its fast, my addict habits will make me play 10 hours or so...

Sad to see you go veil but stay in practise for BC6 :sly: 👍

I will soon have the privelge to be racing GTR also 👍 orderd parts for a new comp which will be coming in the post soon.

Well, submitting time. Finally ran something halfway decent, but was really sloppy, didnt look pretty at all. Kinda disappointed as I know if I cleaned it up I'd probably get another 2 seconds back :grumpy: . Probably left a good second up to T10. Then coming into Schikane, broke REALLY late, ended up dropping in speed dramatically just to keep it clean, ended up losing another second easy there. Tried a few more times to get it back, but as fun as it has been, this week has already taken up enough of my time. Oh well, good luck to everyone going til the end, here's the full splits, parentheses are the best I times I saw (T6 on were best times):

T1 - 44.742 (44.2's) 👎
T2 - 1:18.964 (18.4's) 👎
T3 - 1:46.913 (46.5's)
T4 - 2:37.159 (36.6's)
T5 - 3:15.384 (14.8's)
T6 - 3:41.791 👍
T7 - 4:31.647
T8 - 5:13.968
T9 - 5:35.722
T10 - 6:18.336
T11 - 6:40.885

Sorry to see you go veil, I hope you can drop in from time to time. :)

As far as my lap goes, I had a run last night but couldn't improve my time. I was planning to have another run today but sanity has prevailed. I can't in good conscience devote more of my time to this week's race. I'm just going to have to let it go....

Submitting (must remember to submit to flat-out!!)

Good luck in the results everyone. 👍

I guess it's inevitable that people move on to GTR. I still can't believe how bad PD screwed up by not offering online play in GT4. :indiff:

I won't have broadband available at my house until May '06 at the earliest, but in the meantime, I'm building a proper race rig with good pedals and a mod wheel. I already have a computer built up. So as soon as I get it all put together and have broadband, I'll be racing GTR also.

But....I will still do WRS. I've grown a fond attachment to this place in the last 6 months, and look forward to the competition and banter back and forth each week with all the folks here. 👍

I also want to qualify for Team GTP's BC6 effort! :mischievous:

@fasj- Sorry you didn't get a good lap this week mate. But you are right. This should be fun not a chore! That's the great thing about WRS. If you don't like the current comp, just wait a week. :sly: 👍

EDIT: Nice splits Puck! 👍

Yeah agreed, you both hit the nail on the head IMO this week; just wait til next week. Although Flat-Out makes me nervous with this 'different' talk....lol.
