i can't see what the drama was that people have had with M34... i managed to pass it after a handful of goes and that was when i doing all the missions to get some money up to start racing proper... that was a few months back now...

will get back into racing this WRS again tomorrow... been a bit busy since the previous time i posted, i have seen some T10's at 6'19, but they weren't as good as i had hoped for... hopefully should get a 6'18... and on to a low 7min lap...

Small_Fryz
Drift260Z are you able to prove your times?

I actually was smart and saved the lap(thank god I had enough space on my memory card). I knew there was more time left and I wanted to improve upon it, but I was too tired that night. as I said, I did save the ghost replay, but I don't have any way to get it on the computer. if you can let me know what to get, how much it costs, and where I can get it, once I get enough money, I will be able to send you the lap.

rock.

goto best buy and get an AR MAX EVO... 'tis the only easy way to get replays on the net. (it will set you back ~$30... pricey but necessary)

I was sitting here thinking the same thing about 260Z and Watson...
No biggie, the week isn't over yet.

yeah, i've put up a replay of every time i've run since i joined.

PAL gets to start racing 8 seconds earlier. I've been within 8 seconds a few times, but I still lose. Bastards @PD.....

if you have problems with m34... you can look in the M34 thread in the missions and licence forum i've got a max replay of a 9'11.low
and holl put up a pal replay that is sub-9 for those accross the pond.

Well, let's hope this is a good primer for M34 NTSC. I finally got a couple of clean laps. Not fast, but clean. I'm regularly 2 seconds out front before halfway, only to brainfart...

T2 1'19.527
T6 3'46.053
T10 6'26.669

Yeah, still suckin' but I can at least submit a time.

G'nite,

-SHig

do the NTSC guys have to wait 2 mnutes and 8 seconds to start M34 or what???

coz i know i had to wait 2 minutes before i could start racing in the M34...

Remember how I said not giving up your T times can get people mad?

Well I feel the same way when people hide T times and submit a fast lap.
It's just plain wrong.

So...

CFM, Fryz, whoever else... Listen up!

T10: 6'17.3

Don't think I will improve that just cause I don't know if I will find the time or will to work on it.

Catch you guys later on... I'll be back when something catches my eye or when I've improved.
Till then,

no need to get into it in this thread... but its all here: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=68831

and yes, NTSC has to wait 8 seconds longer... + the gullwing runs a ~9'12.high vs 9'16 on PAL... so it ends up being ~12sec easier for those of you with wonky power.

wow, i come back from a long vacation and fingers are itching to race....

I look here and see a wonderful race going on. I'm jumping in also :P

Only have two days left

good races everybody :)

New splits, I'm coming after you Kent!

T2: 1'18.618
T6: 3'41.572
T10: 6'17.559

This included 2 or 3 major mistakes (including one where I only had the two REAR wheels on the track)

I have now gotten my second clean lap. Such a pity.

T2: 1:20.818 (best 1:19.8xx)
T6: 3:48.470 (best 3:47.5xx)
T10: 6:31.712 (best 6:30.1xx)

Twice I have wrecked at the end of the straight with good times. 🤬

Well I haven't spent more than an hour or two on this one. I went up to Bobkart's in Seattle this weekend and had a blast! I may submit early this week. And get ready for next week a little more 'refreshed' to try and pull a win out of my 'hat'.

Damn.... Just saw a 6'22 which would have been a nice improvement from my best so far. Went off in the fast spooky section leading to the Klostertal so it was dirty. Would have been good for a nearly 4 second improvement in my overall time. Even cut some serious grass in the final stretch so it should have been even faster. I think I'll at least get that again though. Things are starting to fall into place for a halfway decent D2 time. ;^)

AHHHHH!!! NOOOO. Ok, so I sat down about 45 min ago.. I've been all over the track... Until this lap, I got ahead of my dirty ghost that was 5 seconds up on my clean lap, and just took it slow, and somehow ended up with a T10 of 6'23, (best so far, dirty or clean, had been 6'27.9xx I think), and at the end of the straight, didn't think I was doing anything wrong, but went into a slide while braking and lost it... Wow, how pissed am I. It was a miracle lap(well, maybe not), but it was soooo much better than what I'd done so far, and then it got tossed, and I was still being cautious. Dayum. Time to put that together. I NEED something tonight, before I sleep. Clean will come........

KLR, I feel your pain.

It's frustrating that one of the toughest braking zones on the track is right at the end. Of course, you could say that about any number of corners on the nordschleife.

The problem is compounded by the fact that you have 25-odd seconds to think about how good your lap is going to be before you get to this tricky section.

Hey!

Go for it! 👍

I'm done with my racing too so you may have the advantage. ;)

My suggestion to you all.
When this week is over, go run laps in any sort of street car in arcade mode.
I've run with the Lotus 111R, M3 (normal), Z06... All of them have produced some really fun laps at speeds better than I would have achieved a week ago. 👍

Find the cars you enjoy and have a go. :D
Or just do next week's race and forget all about this long un-even road.

Anyway, best of luck to you all.
Good luck on getting up there to your goals.
Till next time,
-

*SIGH* Just when I start to learn this thing, it's gotta end. :nervous:
Last minute business trip all this coming week, so I will have to submit now. :indiff:
Before I post my splits, please indulge me in a description of the journey it took to get it.

As some of you know, this week has been a nightmare struggle for me. I know I'm not alone, but as soon as Cyril posted the race I knew I was in deep doo doo. :scared:

I didn't feel it was an option to skip this week, as I want to honor both Todd and Kent for their work in the WRS. 👍 So I rolled up my sleeves and gave it a good go. I discovered rather early that I sucked just as bad as I suspected, and being the calm, cool, and collected racer I am......... OK. No I didn't suck it up in silence. hehe

So anywho, my best clean lap from Wednesday was with a 6'30 T10. After that, I gave the comp a couple half-hearted efforts with no good results.

So today I thought what the hell! One more shot at it. AND.......still nothing decent. :grumpy:

I then decided to try it in Sim mode with the car set up as close to the arcade one as possible in weight and power. Then I piled on all the other go fast options including a wing, and did a quick adjustment of everything. DAMN!!! This is one rockin' car in GT Mode! 👍 It was soooo much fun just jammin' thru the laps and pulling good T times. So all of a sudden I'm starting to understand this green hell a little bit better, and finding the faster lines in the back section.

So I went back to Arcade mode, hands shaking a bit, and gave 'er a go again. Success! Yay! 5 seconds faster, and clean! Save that bugger quick!

But could I do better? hmmm. Maybe give it another hour, and see what happens. :dopey:

And that's when it really started to fall in place. *angel chorus * So this is the clean lap I will submit. Not lightning in a bottle, (I screwed up T9 royally) but worlds better than what I was doing. I've got several dirty laps that are faster, (up to 2.5 seconds) but as the Brits say.......I'm well chuffed! :)

I finally am starting to understanding this track for the first time, and now..........Ok.........yeah........ it's FUN! 👍

T2: 1'18.603
T6: 3'41.963
T10: 6'19.797

Submitted!

Good luck all! See ya at the flag.

I’ve heard a few whispers of people being able to do M34 really easily now, so I gave it ago. bang, first go, two 5 second penalties and I still won (by 0.144 seconds, mind you).

Somehow, even though I don’t feel any faster at the ring, I have found alot of pace. At other tracks too, just this one week of competition is starting to help me get my GT4 speed back (after not playing it since WRS week 1).

Anyway, I’ll have another crack at it tonight and hope for the best.

bah!

6'16.7 T10

Dirty though.

Look out Kent!!!, i if i can get this together i can give you a good run for your money!

Didn't have time to work on my lap anymore, so bottom of D1 for me.👎
Lap from a few days ago submitted...good luck to the contenders.:)

after 2 hours of fruitlessly chasing my ghost from earlier in the week... i pose a lighthearted question this week:
"what's your favorite way to crash?"
so far mine has gotta be when the outside tread bar of a rear tire just barely touches the dirt and sends the car immediately into the opposing guard rail.
a close second would be when the suspension badly handles some bumps and sends the car skipping completely out of controll in unexpected directions.

I have no favourite way to crash. But what really upsets me is when I enter too fast the fast right hand curve immediately after T6.
I'm usually busy thinking about that T time, I forget to turn or to ease the throttle and I'm out in the grass
I could save a safety clean lap yesterday, by driving more than carefully. I didn't not down my times, but I think T10 is around 7'10
Yeah, I know, I should be ashamed of posting such times, but hey, now that I have a clean lap I'll have less pressure to race tonight. ;)

T10: 6'23 ....

All ruined after T6 by briefly being all 4 wheels on the grass for a moment :(

GT4 WRS Mind you! ;)
Still about 105 weeks of WRS goodness from the past that doesn't even get counted anymore (no wonder I get no respect, I tell ya, I get no respect, no respect).

Now, as I mentioned before... All you racers gunning for my time, go on and do it.
I'm not racing this for my reputation or ego or whatever, if you can beat my time do it. 👍

Kinda flattering if you ask me... One week I'm an average joe and then suddenly I'm fast enough for all these different peple to spend there time working on matching me and beating me.
Makes me wonder how I got so special suddenly.

Regarding my time vs the competition...
Like I said before, I am not racing this race anymore now and that means the advatage is on you all.
You know my time and I'm done working on it.

Had I not told anyone about my time I am sure I wouldn't have the competition I have now.
However, I did and that's how it goes... I just hope people are as curtious with me. :D

Should I randomly get a few laps in and manage to beat my ghost, I will return and post the updates.
Doubt that will happen though so next time I boot the ps2 it's going to be so I can send my time in. :D

Catch you all later.
Till then,

heh, yeah... done that before... I had to stop paying attention to the split times. At the speeds the aston is going it requires too much concentration for me; so i started just blinking the ghost on and off whenever i feel like seeing how i'm doing. All i'm usually concerned with is if he's infront or behind anyway.

Hey all,

Just wanted to come in and give notice... I've submitted my time. :D

Best of luck to all you.

Until the results...
-Kent

Btw, flat-out, will the results be at the same time as usual?
What is the time zone you live in?
Something like +1 GMT?
Thanks, later. :D-

Just have to say I won't be able to submit a time this week. After my first four laps done Tuesday I had another hour session last night where I know I can be in the 6'17-6'19 range for T10, but nothing clean. So with nothing clean, I've got nothing to submit, and tonight I "become" an engineer at some boring ceremony, so no time for more laps. Or maybe if I'm not feeling tired tonight around midnight, I'll give it a go... we'll see.

Good luck all
