Honestly I'm sorry. I hope you believe it was unitentional. I clicked on it realized where I was and dragged the cursor off screen before I let it go but it seemed too late. It seems that there should be a "do you really want to report this post...continue" question. Especially since the button is right next to the "quote" button.
Do not worry about it. I know you meant no harm and I know it was unintentional. I believed you the first time 👍

Plus, would had it been intentional, you wouldn't have said anything about it.

No hard feelings - we are all friends in here (I just hope I don't sound too gay ;))

But you are right, the Report buttons is dangerously close to the Quote button. I almost hit it quite a few times, myself. But as I moused over it I always realized what it said before I clicked on it :D

It should definitely have a confirm option.

I don't think you will need to worry about mate.

Even the reputation points system has a confirmation.

And any way, Wiz is right, the mods would see what was what and understand it was a slip. Coz the Wiz is a good guy, like the rest of us.

That's right 👍

We are all part of the family.

Like in the... Uhm... How was that thing called? Yeah, Mafia. That's it :D

And Cyril is the Godfather.

Alright. Before this gets too stupid...

Yes we are all good people in here.

Well,
I just got done with the MR-S for a quick session, and I mean quick.
Since my last post I have taken the time to run time trial and single race tests. Both of those came out with the same results- the MR-S is faster by more than a second.
The MR-S has better PWR and it handles far better (even though I must admit that the Razo wasn't bad at all).

Now I'm torn between racing the faster MRS or the "better" looking Silvia (I just love the silver paint on gold rims). :guilty: :dopey:

Tomorrow I'll have time to work on finding a good line-up (tire/difficulty settings).
Until then,
-

OK Kent's right (no surprise there) the Celica's the better car.

T1=24.684
T2=1'02.418

T1=18.556
T2=55.666

I'm done. Gonna submit my time. Great combo, love the challenge of dealing with the AI even if you can put 'em at a disadvantage. So now I can watch whatever I want on Sunday night.

I just spent the last two hours and a half (literally - 10:00 PM - 12:30 AM) trying to figure out the perfect AI settings (if such a thing even exists ;)).

I started from the higher difficulty that would allow at least one of the six cars to be present (turned out to be 8) and I ended up at the lowest (2), testing all the tire combinations in between (7 times 5 = 35 possible combinations). Unfortunately, once I finished testing the AI @ 6, I went straight to 2 and worked my way up to 5 again.

I say unfortunately, because my ideal setting came out to be 5 :D

Either RH or RSH seem to work fine. With RH it's easier to pass them, but you have to break a little too much at the right uphill turn. Probably, as I build up skills, I will switch to RSH, which allows me to carry more speed during the first two or three turns, but if I don't get them perfect, then I miss my "timings" for passing the others.

I should have just kept going in decreasing order of difficulty, as I was doing, instead of jumping from 6 to 2. I would have found out a lot sooner :D

Anyway, I really don't have splits, as I was working on the AI field, and so I only have T1 and T2 for the first lap.

Best T1 I have seen was 24.4, while the best T2 was 1'02.6.

Well, now that I did all my AI testings, I can just start worrying about racing. Unfortunately I'll have to wait for my next session for that and that might be over the weekend.

Later.

EDIT: Anyway, I just wanted to add that, despite the fact that the AI might be a little frustrating at first, this is a really awesome race. The MR-S runs so smooth that I hardly notice I am using the wheel instead of the DS2. We should use mid engine cars way more often 👍

The Wizard.

Alllrighty then! So, I hopped into the MRS just because, and had a few races. First clean one(using DFP):
T1: 25.789
T2: 1'03.847
T1: 19.365
T2: 58.084

And I was thinking this was almost decent, from when I last looked at this thread anyway... Now that some more people have raced, look at goixoye! And you're saying you're done for the week?

I think I'm going to go have some laps around the track in single lap mode for a bit, to get my lines down, and to test out the WRX. I'm a bigger fan of the WRX than the MRS in real life, but I love the way mid-engine cars drive... So I may end up sticking with the MRS. I'll have to see how they drive back to back, and just how much faster the WRX is. I'm not a fan of the way the other D2 car looks, so I'll make sure to stay away from that one. Kolyana, have at it! :-D

American 'football' sucks almost as bad as baseball (From the perspective of someone who has only watched it on TV.)
Baseball's much more fun to play than it is to watch... Even if it can be boring when you're playing, it's pretty fun when you're doing something, lol. I don't know about professionally, but like with little after work adult softball type games, those would be a hoot.

I for one think it would be cool if you get promoted to Div 1 but I'm not sure if you're racing the MR-S because you're thinking you may be Div 1 soon or because you have mixed up the car selections??? Either way, just thought I'd give you a heads up 👍

Anyway I've had a crack and my splits are looking a little weak which is disappointing because I felt on the edge, how I'm gonna find another 1-2 seconds is beyond me  :

-Lap #1-
T1: 0'25.176
T2: 1'03.049
Finish: 1'3x.xx7

-Lap #2-
T1: 0'18.754
T2: 0'56.716
Finish: 1'2x.xx2

Overall: x'xx.xx9

I'm using the MR-S with Racing Softs, at 240 gearing. I started the AI on Super Hards on +2 difficulty and got a pretty neat line up that had a JGTC car in it. Overtaking them is easy but maybe the fact it's easy is why I can't get any lower than 25.1 at T1??? Anyway I'll keep fiddling during the week...we'll see...

Nah, I was just doing it because it says that we can use any car from either our division or the division above us if we'd like. At least, that's how I first interpreted it... But, I took a few laps in the Impreza, and I'll definitely be driving it. It doesn't handle much, if any worse IMO, just a tiny bit different. A little easier with the steering wheel when it gets a little tail happy as well because of the less weight back there. For the past 20 minutes I decided to hop into an arcade mode s2000 full tune on comfort tires on Deep Forest to try and get the hang of countersteering a bit better. More in hopeful preparation for this coming weekend's LAN party than this week's WRS. I do have a clean race with the Impreza, just don't have the splits on me right now. I'll be improving it anyway, so, no big deal. 👍

Fastest race so far, and CLEAN! One close call with a car that tries to knick me, but he missed, so HA!

Cusco Impreza, 250 gearing, AI Diff. at 1 on RSH tires, DFP:
T1: 25.374
T2: 1'02.579
T1: 18.494
T2: 56.269

Well had my first run of this one tonight and did better than I thought but still need improvement on certian bits.

L1

T1 24.240
T2 102.105

L2

T1 19.068 (Not happy with this particular split.)
T2 56.934

DFP

had another go at it this time with the ds2 and managed to beat my dfp time by .5 overall with

25.084
1'01.778
(had a ridiculous first lap, some .3 faster than my previous personal best)

xx.146
55.650

it was an aceptable last lap but i have had .15 faster, i absolutely nailed the 2nd last corner of the last lap, which was a bit stupid as i almost got 3 wheels on the sand.

okay, the dsecription of how i did it is as follows,

the AI passing is similar to how minor shunt described it, u have to really push like crazy to overtake the last car on the inside of the right after T1, i usually got it 1 in 4 tries, but it saves u .4 at least.

the flying lap (using 250 top speed setting) should commence at the start line.

brake half a milli second after the rumble strip on the left, and stay in 4th for better exit speed, initially taking it at 108km/h

for the chickane, its full throttle in 5th gear for the left, then brake down to 4th and take it at 140.

the next can be taken at 85ish in 3rd.

the sweeping left, u turn into the inside initially in 6th, brake as u enter the corner, and accelearte out in 4th at 130, dont be to concerned if u dont get the exact inside line, as long as ur speed is sufficient.

the hairpin, always try and stick to the inside as possible without sacrificing speed, take it at 70.

the chickane can be taken at full throttle.

the fast right, i veer off onto the sand on the left b4 i turn in to the corner, really enables u to carry more speed, like 218 if u hit it really super (i just tap the brakes to drop the speed without letting go of gas)

the last corner is a *****, but if u stay in third, and initially accelerate at 65, whilst trying to stick to the inside, u will do it fast.
then simply shift just after the red line, and cross the start line, with the car facing forward, and thats it!

i love those offtopics. it started with NFL and ended up with the godfather...
its all good, it keeps the thread funny. there are some great nonsense talks in the middle of each week´s race...

btw, NFL is cool, but i´ll miss the superbowl here:tdown: :(
brazil sucks (at least for TV)

as for the race, i think its odd that in my 30 minutes last night i was not able to find any lineup with a JGTC car. didn´t try much, but still, it was odd.

how do you make the AI race on Super Hards, whilst you race on Racing Softs???

You need to start the race with the AI at +2 and change the tyres at that point to Super Hard. Once you get into the race screen go into settings and when you change the power and weight etc just change the tyres too 👍

New better splits *edited*:

Gearing set @ 300 and not using 6th. AI field set @ difficulty 7 with Hard tyres (R2). The exact lineup i favour is:

Wedssport Celica
205 Turbo 16 Rally
Renault 5 Maxi Turbo Rally
RSC Rally Raid
AMG 190 Evo Touring

With this lineup it's possible to obtain P1 just before the right hander that follows T1.

L1
T1 - 0'23.533
T2 - 1'00.597

L2
T1 - 0'17.971
T2 - 0'55.342

Still using the Impreza. Tried the ASL but didn't rate it.

looks like we have a winner... so far...

great splits, the lap 1 looks a lot faster than i thought it would be

Ok looks like my splits are 3rd best so far! Thanks for the lap discription Dan!! Ive been struggling with T1 in lap 2 👎

my sectors

23.980 (seen 23.8)
1'02.060 (seen 1'01.8)

18.636 (seen 18.3)
56.403 (seen 56.1)

All up I'm a little happy with my time, i hope to improve some .6 - 1.0 more though! And at least SEE dan cross the finish line :P

new splits, probably another 0.4 in it that i could get but i am getting a little annoyed with this combo so i am giving it a break for now...

Lap 1
T1: 24.418
T2: 1'02.123

Lap 2
T1: 18.326
T2: 56.168

may submit this time yet, see what i feel like over the weekend...

Ive already updated the board, but will quickly edit in your times 👍

ROB 256R
Sorry but by me editing my splits in my post they've missed the update. Thought i was being helpful not starting another post. Nevermind, anyway here they are again for the next time the board is updated.

L1
T1 - 0'23.533
T2 - 1'00.597

L2
T1 - 0'17.971
T2 - 0'55.342

Sorry about that mate, but when we update the board we put a note in of what post we are upto, and then next time we update we start from that one!, so we dont actually go over posts that we have already done!

I will add in your splits now 👍

Edit!

I just spent some more time using Dan's tips! Improved overall by .9!

24.034
1'01.960

18.399
55.997

👍

For the acronym-illiterate's sake (me), would you mind putting words to those letters? :D

It would gladly be appreciated

EDIT: Does it have something to do with Textile Team Outlet and Design, by any chance? As that is the first thing that comes up with Google

The Wizard.

Sorry if it's been clarified already, but TTOD is commonly used in autocross/lapping for Top Time of Day.

-SHig (Often BTOD in D1)

I hope you didn't take any offense in the post I made and that you just quoted. I was only trying to be funny.

I'm on the slow side of this race. :sly:
1'03.0 T2 (L1)
0'56.7 T2 (L2)

Still fun to race and I've found an easy AI setup.
Using the MR-S, starting with 4 difficulty and racing hards, I end up being against the altezza, ASL, and 3 rally cars (205, rs200 and one other, maybe an impreza?).

Anyway, with that line-up I can pass on the inside of the first right, then on the outside of the short in-between straight, then on the inside again for the up-hill left before T1, then inside again on the T1 straight then outside or inside for the long up-hill right that leads into the left hand sweeper.
From there I'm in the lead and taking it sorta easy until lap 2 starts, then I haul butt until the finish (with half decent times on occassion).

Maybe by the end of the week I will manage a mid 1'02 -> low '56.
Not sure though as I'm actually interested in running 2 other events right now. :P

I'm interested to see how the results turn out here though.
The Impreza of D2 may actually be able to take the overall win (not so sure about that anymore).

Well, until next time,

MR-S, after about 15 laps this is where i stand, I think playing with the AI setups and whatnot will help alot, possibly another .75 sec on the first lap, kinda biffed the last right hander b4 the finish, but this is still my fastest time so far.

T1- 24.371
T2- 1'02.080

T1- 18.564
T2- 56.077

had one last shot at it and i pretty much did a nice consistent 2 lapper with only one mistake on the second lap, the corner after T1, where i broke to early and hit the rumble strip without carrying alot of speed.

23.858
1'01.294

18.098
55.589

time submitted, almost cracked the second barrier but not to be

Some nice times coming in form all now. Looks close across the board, which is encouraging.

Had a quick couple rounds this morning before heading off to work and finally got a 18.xxx on T1 L2. But the rest of my race was shocking and way off my current best. But I proved I could make that part in the 18's now so hopefully will have some good times tonight.

So far Ive enjoyed pushing it on this one more than Seattle, more room to push the cornering and a smoother feel. Those damn walls and bumps were really annoying in the last.

I guess I prefer the real race tracks.

RedWolfRacer
WedsSports Celica, 250 gearing, AI +1 on RHs, I'm on RSSs...

T1 - 23.897
T2 - 1'01.399

T1 - 18.240
T2 - 55.308

Just checked the original thread before I posted this but it definitely says that we MUST use Racing Soft tyres, so no Super Softs.

I am hoping like crazy other people are making the same mistake because I am S-T-Ruggling this week to keep up!!! How everyone is getting a 1'02.xxx on thier first lap in that MR-S is beyond me, I've seen 1'02.997 and .998 once, I feel like I'm at the limit and you guys are slapping me by at least a second on the first lap, I gotta find a better way past these AI
