Your suggestion does make sense Laurence but it also leaves very little mystery to where people stand, this still leaves some mystery but also gives a decent indicator. I don't mind either way though, we'll see what others' think đź‘Ť

I can see your point -- a little mystery is good, I suppose... And I guess we can all tell if someone is pitting on one of their laps, because that T-time will be way off, and we can pretty much guestimate where they're going to be in the end, since everyone must pit at least once...

Missed the poll the first time I glanced at the thread... I just voted a two week session, but it appears not many others agreed with me. Oh well, I've had a rough past week, and been quite busy this month, and it's still not over yet. *sigh*

im definetly comming back to the wrs for this race... sounds awsome, 7 days or 14 days don't matter to me

He's back from the dead!!! Good to see you back man :sly:

T1: 2'47.140
T3: 2'40.722
T5: 3'07.593
T7: 2'39.551

these were some of the slower runs i did last night, but it was the quickest race i could complete, another 1.5 seconds to come off each of those T6 times if i get my **** together... :(

Damn.
I was expecting this race to completely **** up Colby's new avatar idea but he managed to update it

I like Laurence's idea but do it for the first 6 laps at t6

Most people would pit by then (Most) and u can still be left wondering as you don't noe what the people did in that last section of each lap and u don't noe what they did on the last 2 laps.

But then what do I do with my avatar??? :sly:

Haha

Now your stuck deciding beetween a database and an avatar.

I'm pretty sure the people will want the database of times.

You're probably right, I'm sure people will shed a tear over the absence of my groove-tastic avatar but with counselling and time things WILL get better :)

Or you'll have to reduce the font size and split your T times over 2 columns.
On the avatar I mean, not on the database.

Ah HA!! đź’ˇ Now we know the REAL reason why he didn't like my idea. :sly:

EDIT: But, seriously, the more I think about it, the more I realize that most folks are going to run RS tires to get the best traction they can get without having to pit more than once (RSS tires would require at least two pit stops), and that means just about everyone will pit at the end of lap 4/beginning of lap 5. So the T6 times of laps 1, 3, 5, and 7 will probably work just fine for the leaderboard...

đź‘Ť Yeah, I think I'm going to stick to RM all round, I'm still chewing them up too quickly on RS, I'm having to ease off a bit on the last half of laps 4 and 8 (before I pit and finish). :dunce:

T6 Times;

L1 2'49.175
L3 2'44.188
L5 3'11.014
L7 2'42.388

Need to find some consistency though, my times are all over the place still!!

??Does anyone know if the cones blocking the chicanes are not to be hit?? I'm assuming we're supposed to miss them but I was overtaking and clipped a couple of them before I remembered they were there. (Not that you just "clip" something whilst travelling at 200+mph!) :guilty:

Need to know as I have a slightly better time if it's legal.

Do we have to stop in the pits?

Could we just drive straight through them?

I know you said you can't do it on the last lap, but could you just go straight through without stopping because tyre compound is'n really effcting my time. Example roll through the pits on the 4th lap with no tyre change.

I'm feeling like a traitor this week... Tourist Trophy has got me by the balls....:P

I was wondering the same thing??? Meanwhile new splits for me:

Lap 1 - T6: 2'47.635
Lap 3 - T6: 2'41.212
Lap 5 - T6: 3'09.383
Lap 7 - T6: 2'42.160

P.S. Oh...and as for Tourist Trophy, bikes just don't interest me :)

I'm pretty sure you DO have to make a complete pit stop... The whole point of having tire wear turned on was to force folks to stop and change their tires at some point in the race. That's why you cannot pit at the end of the last lap, because you'll cross the finish line before you get to your pit box, and won't have changed your tires before the end of the race. At least, that's what I believe Cyril intended when he made the tire-wear and pit-stop rules.

If some folks roll through the pits without stopping, then their race-times are automatically going to be 15 seconds faster because they didn't stop to have fresh tires put on... Seems to me like that's against the spirit of the "pit strategy" rules.

But of course, Cyril has the final word...

It's all good. Anything that has an engine and goes fast....

As far as I know the only way to go through the pits without actually stopping to change tyres is to hit a wall hard enough to trigger the drive-through penalty. I would say that it's fairly likely that would be against the spirit of the rules. Such a hit in real-life would undoubtedly put you out of the race.

I went and did the race and I have to say that it's hard:crazy:,
but now that I have the race and how the car handles burned
into my head I think I can do good this week:).

Don't even think about it guys. You can actually 'drive-through' the pits, you just have to 'Keep Current' Tyres, and choose 'No' to refueling.

However, I ran this a couple of days ago, used R1's (RSH) and pitted at the end of lap 6 for 1 unit of fuel, no tyres. It's not fast, my time was 20+ seconds down the road from Misterweary's. Even if I have had run straight through, I was only stopped for about 1 second, so it's not going to make any time up. Maybe if you could run R2s through the race, but in my opinion, they won't make a race distence.

This is pretty close to my limit I think, If I hit every lap perfect I might find another 0.5 second per lap but maintaining that for 8 laps is tough

Lap 1 - T6: 2'48.411
Lap 3 - T6: 2'40.878
Lap 5 - T6: 3'07.544
Lap 7 - T6: 2'40.160
