Wow, I just did three laps, my arms are sore and my vision is slightly blurred, but maybe I'm just tired. I didn't get a chance to check my T times as I was a little be occupied with driving. However, I did have a few questions.

Is anyone taking flugplatz or mutkurve flatout? (find a trackmap online if you don't know which corners I am talking about) If you are, what are your suggestions, as these corners are causing me problems.

PD seems to have left the drivetrain blank for the TT-R. I would first guess 4wd, because its an Audi, but it is a DTM car, so they may have given that up. Does anyone know what it is IRL? What does it seem to be like to all of you in game? I can't quite decide.

I seem to have forgot my other questions, but in the meantime, you can check this out. I found it a while ago on the BMW M site, it is a corner by corner analysis of driving the 'ring. It is specifically for M3s, so the gears and breaking points are off, but the general racing line should be helpful. Find it here: http://www.bmw.com/generic/com/en/fascination/bmwm/automobiles/specials/_pdf/bmwm_nordschleife.pdf

You are in Chicago too?

You must also be a senior in hs if you had ap testing, or a very smart junior haha

I'm a junior, I just took calc, US, and bio, not to mention the SAT IIs, so after a week of around 1000 multiple choice questions, this is a fantastic reward.

LOL My T10 was 5'11"820 :)

MMM Laughing at a poor div 3 time, you are the man 👍
Just remember you never laugh at slower drivers , because when you try to lap us , you may find your self held up a bit. 💡 Learn some manners !

just kidding mate. If u want some help just call me BTW. 👍 :)

Nothing serious, i was j/k. :)

Keep up your practice and u get lot faster. 👍

This is ridiculous ... I can run a 1'07 flat T2 ... which I'm happy with, but I haven't got a chance in hell of learning the rest of the track - at a competitive pace - even if I were to run 10 laps every day for the next week.

Of course, staying ON the track while trying to stay competitive AND trying to learn it ... I swear, I'm so damn close right now to throwing the damned DFP into the bloody forest and being done with it.

Well, i never really ran much on this track before... To be honest, it think it's sorta scary. :nervous:
After about 30 minutes i finally got a clean lap, nothing to brag about however...
T2 1'09.140
T4 2'21.720
T7 4'06.991
T9 5'03.001

A little off topic maybe, but weren't there stories about concentration camps or something like that from WW2 that had to do with Nuremburg(sp.)?

1st lap out..

T2: 1'06.487
T4: 2'13.444
T7: 3'50.162
T9: 4'43.207

Sloppy in quite a few spots, but loving the combination just as much as I thought I would.

Wow. That's quite a load!

I took AP Calc this year but I didn't take the test.

the secret to passing that mission is not pushing as hard as you think is necessary. if u take the corners nice and smoothely, and avoid sliding, u should do it. catchya later.

Yeah, I've read that the secret is early braking ---> high exit speed.

I won't pretend to think that I know very much, but perhaps you are thinking of Nuremburg. Nuremburg was the spiritual home of the nazi party (most of the big rallies you see video of come from there)(more info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuremburg ), instead of Nurburg (just one syllable difference). I doubt that the nazis would put camps close to the 'ring because they were rather proud of the track (understandably so), if I remember correctly the nazis sponsored the Mercedes team before the war.
So thats the WRS history lesson of the day.

Looks like everyone is on a learning curve trying to put the track into memory. I feel like I have about 80% in my brain, but it's that last 20 that gets me every time. Go around a turn, say to myself... "Oh yeah, I remember screwing that one up last around, and this one too, and the next 3 in a row"....hehehe

T2 1'08.376
T4 2'19.498
T7 4'02.376
T9 4'58.075

Actually had 3 laps clean... wooohooo.... sloooowwwwww

yes, but even this sumtimes u need drifting to get even faster. Going smooth is on highspeed corners and the lap in general, but in sum other mid speed corners or some particular ones, going drift is just fine to get those hidden time left. 👍 :)

I don't know which one is mutkurve, but I am not taking flugplatz flat out, I brake a little bit.

mutkurve is the last "real" corner before the hairpin before karussell.

on top of this, what about metzgesfeld? I think that requires a lift, but I'm not positive.

Okay, here's something for D3:

I've got the first 3rd of the track slowly sinking in, but after T4 I'm still learning and it shows in how may pace drifted off ... but I'm ... content ... with my learning progress and the pace I'm setting in the early stages.

T2: 1'06:693 :)
T4: 2'16.991
T7: 4.00.732 (starting to drift off the pace)
T9: 4:56.765

I'm going to run a couple more laps now ... see if I can get another corner or two into my brain.

Wow. I took a break to watch Amazing Race, and when I come back, everybodies times are coming down. It's time for me to stop slacking and start driving.

Good competion 👍

You're only 1 second away from my T9.

UPDATE:
T2: 1'06.499
T4: 2'15.742
T7: 3'57.646
T9: 4'53.549

A few more corners are beginning to sink in, although the last two thirds are still my weakest by far.

If that is the sharpest left turn near the end of that straight, the no.
If that is the gentler right just before the hairpin you speak of, then yes.

Times i'll set out to beat. ;)

I was on my way to an overall fast lap time when low and behold I lost it at the end of the straight and slammed the wall. Damn those rumble strips. Put me 5 secs behind so I know I was at least 5 secs ahead of my best lap.

These were the sector times (I think):
T2 1:06.4xx
T4 I didn't catch
T7 3:56.2xx
T9 under 4:50.xxx I know

Well I finally did a good lap, very similar to the last one I just posted about.

T2 1'06.890
T4 2'14.625
T7 3'52.989
T9 4'47.798

I was slow on a few corners but it's gonna be VERY hard for me to beat that by much...

:sigh: Got T4 knocked down to 2'12.5, but can't hold up through the rest of the course for some reason. Back to work..

Another 30 minute session, was pleasantly surprised i didn't spent 25 minutes restarting and only 6 minutes on a complete lap.

Old:----------------> New:
T2: 1'05.578 -----> 1'05.133 (Have to work on trying to get well into the 1'04s)
T4: 2'11.021 -----> 2'10.705
T7: 3'48.413 -----> 3'47.896
T9: 4'41.367 -----> 4'40.375

Managed to beat my previous best by 2 seconds at the line. Still want to drop my time by a few more seconds and then i'll be really happy.
