I may have to try and find something unusual for this week, I want to try and avoid the Skyline/Supra route and go for the joker. :D

Not sure what yet so I'm off to find the used car list's.

Actually, seeing as we're back in GT-mode, fancy sharing set-up data Neil? :sly:

Why not?

I have the used car list downloaded already, gonna have a scan through it now, but seriously like the TVR Cerbera Speed Six. Have mine up to 577 Hp.

And it's set up quite sweet for bumpy long tracks, if you know what I mean.;)

Neil

I've got mine picked. I'm going to be last, but I was probably going to be last anyway...

Ooh, front wheel drive. I'll meet you down the bottom of the list. 👍

I look every week, to check if some Renault 5 or Peugeot 205 appears. Still haven't got the Renault and that '73 Skyline GT-R...

What's that third choice? I'm searching for anything that is non-Skyline and non-Supra, but I might end up using the Supra...

Well... if anyone wants to compare short-lists... here's mine

Code:
name pwr	wgt	ratio
'98 300ZX 823	1261	1.533
Supra RZ 813	1253	1.540
'99 Skyline Vspec-N1	827	1286	1.555
'89 Skyline GT-R	738	1215	1.645
TVR speed six 585	994	1.699
'96 3000 GT VR-4 Turbo	835	1419	1.700
Lotus Carlton 655	1373	2.096
'99 NSX S-Zero 457	1079	2.362
Renault Clio V6 416	1134	2.727
BMW M-Coupe 447	1245	2.788
* sorted by ratio

its not necessarily all about the numbers though.
i ran some quick laps on sports tires with stock suspensions (saving money).
the skyline is the fastest by far
but the NSX and Clio are #2 and #3.

its a crime that boosting the clio isn't an option.
that thing would be sick-fast with 600hp.

Tim,

How did you get the TVR up to that figure?

My used one will only go up 577! Are these used or new car figure you are quoting?

you can't get a new speed 6.
It may have started its life as a 6 mile car... i don't know. I just used the one that was in my garage since the next appearance was 2 months away.
I'll have to go back and check the mileage... i was going to buy another one next time it pops up anyway, since i hate the color. (its the colorshifting green+blue one)

One thing is for sure i'm NOT going to use a Skyline or a Supra:grumpy:.
Even if I come in last I will use something else. And I have found it
hard not to pick a car with low miles on it:(.

Nice car:tup:, have you looked at the Alfa 156 2.5. That car can make
some good HP if you put a turbo on it:).

NightmareHunter
Now this is something I can do! I'll have to work on this.
Umm... What track are we racing on? So I can start getting some laps in.

A track has not been picked yet, but it will soon.

I think maybe outlaw the new supras('94+) and the r33 skylines and above. Might make for a much more interesting race...

I for one am not going to go down the obvious path. I'm going to have some fun.

Watch this space.

It looks like nobody wants to use the über-stage5-powered japanese cars :D
Stay tuned, the track will be posted within the next 12 hours.

Alright!

A chance for me to pick another odd-ball car! Now, does that gorgeous Gullwing appear in the Used Car lot?...

And... I just had an interesting thought...

I think I'll be going for style and class rather than a win. You guys can have the trophies and the money - I'll go home with the grid girls! :D

well that really sounds like chris.
'fraid for you the 300 sl is nog available at the 'lot. but there would be other odd-balls for you if you look well enough. check out famine's listings somewhere in gtp to browse through them.

Won't the TVR Griffith 500 turn out nice numbers? It has the same starting-HP the Supra has (disregard that gentlemens agreement). I just bought a Pearl-Yellow used one. Now, if I only had saved those used VW Bug wheels for it, It'd be the weirdest contestor of the week.

Yes, but it's a V8.

Ive been looking for a list that tells you which week a car will show up in the lot but I cant find one. Can someone post a link up for it.
Stickied threads at the top of the GT4 forum

Post #1 has been edited with the track name.

Tips :
  • 37 eligible cars have a max power under 500hp.
  • The less powerful eligible car has 265hp only (full tuned)
  • The lightest eligible car weighs 994kg (weight reduction stage 3)
  • The heaviest eligible car weighs 1427kg (weight reduction stage 3 too)

Had a go in a fully tuned Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 Turbo (J) '95 @ 857HP

23.332
45.846

Very slidey it was too.

Well I have to do some more testing, now that I know what the track is. But my top two cars are:

TVR Cerbera Speed Six
Honda NSX Type S Zero

I did testing at Tokyo R246 and Suzuka. On both of those tracks the TVR was quicker by about 3 seconds, but I know the NSX could have been pushed a lot harder, and I had to run it with limited ASM on Suzuka so that it doesn't oversteer into every gravel pit.

I also tried the 3000GT MR. Only tested that on Suzuka. But after two laps I had had enough, it would take a LOT of work to get that car to go fast. Maybe my suspension setup was just all wrong. But to get it to a competitive level would make me focus more on getting the car to work. Rather than getting the car & track to work together.

More to come...

Where did that name come from? Corollado was better.

Sounds like a nice track to challenge the high-power cars, but that start-finish straight is much too long, isn't it?

Skyline is out, definitely. Mitsu 3000 is out, too. Supra is kinda slow for me here.

Gotta find a good NSX. Or match it with a 6-Cyl TVR.

I ran a few laps tonight, in a car I don't want to reveal so early (think it's gonna be my favourite this week, after the hours I've spent testing) :
T1 = 23.0
T2 = 45.4

Top speed 202 mph at the end of straight.

Search a bit on Google : it's how japanese street racers call themselves.
