So...

If I'm right, we can use any 6 cyl 3.0L of our choice, right?

Now, the mofifications, do they have to be fully modified?

'Cause I was thinking running a 346 HP modified Supra with various sports parts like transmission and suspension.

If the cars have to be fully modified, then I'll be using an RX-7, it's a 3.0L 6 cyl right?

Sorry Pink, no rotary engined Mazda's.

All mods are available, except NOS.

And any tyre's. ;)

Ok, time to stop the science-fiction quotations guys, and read the rules in post #1 if you're not sure.

I tried the 300ZX and thought it was absolutely appauling. It was one from '98, something like 3000GT Vr-4, don't remember exactly.
The 300ZX is a Nissan, and there are 2 of them from 1998 : the 2by2 and the 2seater.
The 3000GT VT-4 is a Mitsubishi, and there a 3 of them, from 1995, 1996 and 1998.

But as of now, I'm using the Cabrera Speed Six, which is around 650-685hp depending on how long it's been since an oil change.
It's written Cerbera Speed Six, and it's maximum power is exactly 585hp.

The rules say : "any 6-cylinder used road car". It doesn't specify the displacement (which btw, ranges from 1989cc to 3966cc).

346hp might be a bit short this week, especially in the heavy Supra. But that's OK by the rules if you wish to do so, you don't have to fully mod the car and there is no minimum power.

RX-7 use rotaries. There's never been an RX-7 using a 6-cylinder engine.

I know this is a little off topic, but after reading the posts in week 66, I think I need a max drive asap anybody have a link in the U.S.A. to order one. Thanks in advance for the help.

Cant get the car I want.... It just wont show up, when I do though I will post splits.

Quick tunning session about 10 to 15 laps in a 800+HP car. Lots of room to improve. It not quite the way I want it but here are my first splits.

T1-22.859
T2-44.758

Hmm, anyone got a list of whats legal & whats not here? I know all the mazda's are rotaries etc.. but tbh i don't know a 6 Cylinder from anything :(

Flat-out
^60 is almost OK too.
Hopefully I should be able to process every race up to week 66 today (but that means no more racing in the Corolla).

I'm checking some of the replays tonite so that should help.

if you actually live in florida... its as easy as going to best buy and shelling out a few dollars for the "AR-Max evo".
I have yet to see a best buy that doesn't have them.

when you goto buy a car in the purchase screen under engine, next to "type" it will tell you want it has.
L6 and V6 are the main options.
(i don't think any of them have a boxer 6... i think that is a porsche only engine.. and no used rufs exist in the game.)

if you're curious the L6 referes to a longitudinal In-Line 6 cylinder.
Longitudinal refers to the fact that its mounted long-ways in the engine bay, and the cylinders are in a straight line, rather than two pairs of 3 next to eachother.

Nice car:tup:, have you looked at the Alfa 156 2.5. That car can make some good HP if you put a turbo on it:).
I might just do that... Take on Daan with it...? Daan, how does that Pug do power/weight wise? The Alfa 156 used to be one of my favorite cars in GT2, but that was Race modified with the additional front downforce of course... So I think I'll probably want to use a wing... Come on now, just thing TOURING CAR!!!

I might want to try out a skyline as well, although not one that anyone else will be using... And I'll look around at what ever else I can find... Probably not going for first overall this week. :)

AWESOME race BTW Cyril, thanks!

In Australia, you can get a Boxer 6 Subaru Outback. I don't know if the Outback is in this game, or that engine is shared between models.

THey didn't make them in the years that this game has used cars. If that makes sense... There was the Subaru SVX, but I don't know if it's modeled in GT4, I haven't found it yet, but did look for it a little bit. So far I've come up with a couple of funky ideas, but one will take too much for me to drive consistently and easily, so that one's out for sure, but there's another interesting one that I'll look into. Also FWD, there are a few FWD cars that fit the bill...

It's sitting at 3.620 (357bhp, 1294kg)

y'all know i am a huge german roadcar fan. so i had to try the audi s4 this week. but what a bummer. no handling whatever setup i used. so it's off. the other german - m coupe - never has been fast or to my liking.
then to the Japanese. very fast but no fun at all. so bye to the sky's, supra's and mitsui's. and why are they all so ugly?
the us cars are no us cars and they handle like (the door of) my fridge, with or without the beer load.
so what's left? the only real beauty of the lot so i took it. ptw is 1.7. some of you might know in gtvault i tuned its big brother to a car that suddenly appeared manageable and very fast.
after some tuning - loose the lsd, loosen up the chassis, lessen rear downforce, shorten the tranny a bit - i even passed the laptime of the Japanese.
i managed a 23.358 and 45.696 but will continue to drive. off course it's not the fastest car of the lot but it IS the best looking one AND great fun to handle.
what a fun ss5 is! in dan's 2.3 we just did it the other way around. it really is no city track just like tokyo isnt ...

i'll be submittig early 'cos i will be off to france from sunday on for 3 weeks.

Good job you got rid of the S4. Its a V8, isn't it?

Thanks mate, was a blonde there :dopey:

Bigracer
well the '0x one is but the '9x one is not. what do you take me for my friend?
I don't take you for anything. I don't know you. I was just pointing out the the S4 may not be eligible. We have had people wanting to use rotaries...

daan
We have had people wanting to use rotaries...
Or people thinking only 3.0 liter V6 engines were allowed, and therefore... choosing the RX-7 :dunce:

As Steven stated, the S4 '98 featured a 2.7 l V6 engine, but the '04 now has a 4.2 l V8 (and only 80 extra hp).

Tip :
From all fully modded eligible cars
  • 37 have under 500hp
  • 5 are in the 501 - 600hp range
  • 4 in the 601 - 700hp range
  • 16 in the 701 - 800hp range
  • 12 have more than 800hp
(unless my preparation of the race wasn't accurate, of course)

Hmmm, so everyone's running HP monsters eh?

I'll just continue with my 340 HP Supra.

I got rid of 6 HP by replacing a semi muffler to a sports, I just had to race with that sound

These races kind of reminds me of those races were you can choose your car, without any rule.

Reminds of the GT3 WRS week 100, some people raced Complex String in a Mini just for fun

^ I was one of those who used the Mini on Complex String.
Lovely combo, and scores of seconds to save all over the lap.

Complex string in a Mini?

I'm going to have to get GT3 out and try that one soon. :D

Still checking through the used car lots and checking times out.

At least we got a few extra days for this one. 👍

Edit after next post: Cheers Cyril.......Still haven't been all the way back through the archive yet..:dunce:
