So, the people with the other versions, that have it listed as a Skyline Coupe can use it?...? Or is that outlawed too, because we can't use it...?

Do you know which versions of GT4 have it? If the PAL or NTSC/J version has the new 2 door Skyline coupe that is exactly the same as the Infinity version in the US version, than I will allow the Infinity to be used. I just need some evidence that it exists, and that it is exactly the same. Anyone?

From the GTP Car Databases:

US: Infiniti G35 Coupe ('03) N 33,900 FR 276 267.61 5.54 18.79
JPN:
Nissan Skyline Coupe 350GT ('03) N 3,390,000 FR 280 37.00 5.46 18.51

The numbers don't match because US is HP and English measuring, while JPN is PS and metric.

New times

GT-R34 '00
494HP
T1 - 31.003
T2 - 59.343
Div3 - DS2

Still losing time at turns 4 and 8 :grumpy:

it doesnt even look anything close to a skyline

looks exactly like a G35...

dont think it should be allowed

Here's the PAL versions stats. Look the same as the US and JPN equivalents to me

Here's the last effort for me this week. Had fun driving the oldie but goodie.

Nissan Skyline GTS-t Type M, 1989, (442hp max)

T1 - 31.393
T2 - 59.948

I still think I could get nearly another second out of it with a few adjustments and better lines on the turns. Ah well, life has a way of demanding your time and GT has to suffer for it... hehehe

For what it's worth here are the settings I ran with:

Springs - 5.3 / 6.5
Ride Height - 96 / 105
ShockB - 5 / 5
ShockRB - 5 / 5
Camber - 3.5 / 2.5
Toe - 0 / 0
Stab - 5 / 5

1st - 2.870
2nd - 2.094
3rd - 1.603
4th - 1.280
5th - 1.066
6th - 0.926
Final - 3.940
Auto - 1

ASM - 0 / 0
TCS - 4

Downforce - 30 / 30

LSD I - 7
LSD A - 11
LSD D - 8

Ballast - 0
F/R Balance - 0

Tires - S3

All upgrades except nitrous

Don't know if this will help, but it's a fun car to drive even though it's down on horsepower a bit.

Good racing to you all!

Nissan SKYLINE GT-R V-Spec N1 II '00

t2 - 59.199

A few more laps .... 30.024 / 57.330 👍

this is one very sweet combo ... cheers CFM :)

scorching time there Mr.PHATTMAN!

i wont be coming anything close to that this week :grumpy:

Thanks mate .... not sure it's enough to hold back that maniac though :sly:

Have been wondering about the Nissan/Infiniti diferences. I dont think I would feel comfertable racing the Infiniti G35 Coupe this week because it is not a Skyline. I wish they would have put the Skyline Coupe 350GT in as well, they already have a G35 sedan and a 2 Skyline sedan, why not coupes?

Oh well I would rather run the sedan anyways, it is what I want in real life, just with a six speed and the new 299 hp VQ35DE.

Here are my new splits with tuning the trans with tranny trick
Nissan SKYLINE SEDAN 350GT-8

Back to my sedan!!

i don't particlarly agree with the use of a car thats not available in all versions of the game. If one group of people can't use a certain car, nobody else should be able to.

That being said, I really love this weeks idea of choosing a car, and some loose rules to go by. It makes it like real racing. usually you got to a race track and everybody shows up with different cars. I can understand how relaxing the rules on the car we can choose can just cause more work for CFM, but i really like this idea.

Did a little tweaking with the settings and improved a bunch :sly:.

The Infiniti G35/Nissan Skyline 350GT is the exact same car though, just a different name, much like how lexus's here in North America are Toyota's back over in Japan. I think it's the exact same case with the Nissan Fairlady Z/350Z. Therefore it is available in all versions of the game, just under different names. I dont remember clearly and i'm too lazy to check, but didn't we have a similar issue with Week 1 and the Nismo tuned Fairlady Z? Did it turn out to be named slightly differently in different versions of the game?

PS: Just take a look at all the JDM fanboys who rebadge their IS300's, Mazda6's, and G35's as their JDM counterparts: Altezza, Atenza, and Skyline :). I see that everywhere i go.

Since the Infinity Coupe looks to be the same as the Skyline coupe that appears in the PAL and NTSC/J versions of the game, it will be allowed this week so everyone has access to the same cars no matter which version they own. Thanks to those who posted the info, I didn't really think to look around GTP for the answer at the time. I need to get some sleep, damn this insomnia!

Carry on people.👍 :)

I improved my time:

T1: 31.389
T2: 59.814

I still can do .5 seconds faster in the first and .5 between the first and second.

I hate the cars, I hate the track, and I have no idea how to even approach the tuning ... this week is going to be a disaster for me.

The car I WANT to drive is the car I feel I'm the worst in, and yet it's the car I'm fastest in ... I can't make head nor tail of that one. The two cars I feel most comfortable with, I can't run fast laps with ... although it really doesn't help that I have no idea what line to follow.

This entire week makes me want to put a gun to my head.

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the Skylines either, and I usually only tune cars to drift too, so It's more luck than anything that I did a half decent time.

0.039 seperating the top 3 Div3 drivers at the moment... I have a feeling I'm going to come out worst for this :scared:

No more runs for me 'til at least monday. Drove 3hrs back home with GT4 and the memory cards but forgot that the PS2 at home needs an adaptor. I'm a dumbarse... :dunce:

*Prays for a Top 20 finish* :nervous:
