I chose the Skyline GT-R N1 '93. I can't seem to find a correct line for the section before T1 and I have some problems with my brakes (T2 time). I think I can remove 2-3 seconds from my lap (mainly from T1).

That ain't too tough but I forgot that I had to brake early in order to pass thru the corners correctly ;)

After 8 laps:
T1: 31.933
T2: 1:00.336

Division 3 with DS2.

I don't know if I chose the right Skyline?! Can you help me?

Cool, messed around with some extreme settings and got some nice times:
T1: 31.197
T2: 59.655

Edit:

That looks legal to me 👍. Although I'm sure it cost you some time going into the grass, so I'm sure you'll improve ;).

Had a first go, and it seems to be going well. I was starting to get worried that I'd messed something up until I saw Ben's splits :dopey:

I'm using the '00 Skyline GT-R, bought brand new from the dealer: 486hp / 1278kg after 232km (It's started losing abit of power, it started at exactly 500PS, I dunno what that is in HP, but it's well under the limit).

Here's my setup:

Brakes: 4/8

Springs: 8.0 / 10.0
Ride Height: 96 / 96
Bound: 8 / 8
Rebound: 8 / 8
Camber: 3.0 / 1.0

LSD:
5 / 5
15 / 10
5 / 5

VCD: 20

why allow the tranny trick~?
not like it was meant to be in the game....

Why NOT allow it?

Besides you can get very close or even better with careful manipulation and knowledge of the gears, anyway.

Goes to the Nissan dealership to find the best Skyline.

This may take awhile.

to be continued.....

I finally got back from the dealership. I tested and tuned 3 different Skylines.

1. '97 R33 GT-R Vspec---it's a tank, steering okay, 100km-0 in 245ft. 👎

2. '02 R35 350GT-B----ha, just try to keep the bloody thing straight 👎

3. '89 R32 GT-R----lightest of the 3, handles best, not quite 500BHP though, got 490BHP

T1 0:32.466
T2 1:01.840

OK purchased a new GTR - R34 - 00, gave it the JPS look ( all black with the darkish gold wheels ) looks rather BRUTE with the lights ablaze in the fading light of Motegi.
Has all the gear on it, havnt tuned anything yet, just getting used to the beast, and the track. Very plush ride after last weeks bouncing around all over the shop :P .
My opening salvo :
T1 - 31.768
T2 - 1.00.136

So lets boogie Div3, hopefully we get a few more posting thier sector times this week.👍
Good Luck All

Steve

No improvements from me since earlier, but I'd like to offer up my setup and inquire as to how everyone is taking the right/left that shoots you toward T1. With the gearing listed below, I exit the first kink in 3rd, hit 4th for just enough time to position myself, then get into 5th and coast through. Almost seeing T1's of 30.9 with this method. Taking it in 4th slows me too much it seems.

My setup ('02 V-spec II Nur):

Suspension: Original
Springs: 8.4/9.9
Ride Height: 94/96
Shock Absorbers: 2/3
Bound: -
Rebound: -
Camber: 3.0/1.4
Toe: -1/0
Stabilizers: 3/4

Gearing: Auto 6

Aids: 0/0/0

LSD:
Initial Torque: 5/5
Initial Acceleration: 6/28
Initial Deceleration: 29/14

VCD: 11

Downforce: 30/33

For whoever is running the leaderboard this week, I'm racing the blue 1996 Skyline GT-R V-spec LM Limited, and I don't know why I have to keep saying this but I'm still using the DS2

I have my replay ready to be sent in, I am pretty happy with this run eventhough I know I haven't matched some of the top T splits yet. I doubt I'll have time to race it again this week.

I'm gonna enter this one..sorry I missed the last 2 weeks...I was creating my website..*the first link below*(please visit..cost me $120) so I should be able to play now.

Well well, week 7 and to my liking! The nurb was fun, but too intense for me.
Besides how the hell are ya sposed to remember all those curvy bits when you are suffering from early stage oldtimers disease anyway? :sly: hehehe

Looks like CFM is on a ring theme now. Next week High speed ring? 👍 👍 With LMP's? 👍 👍 👍 👍

My car so far for this event.

'02 GT-Rrrrrrr V-spec II Nur
492 hp
rubber: ss f/r
suspension: full race. as is. haven't touched it.
gearing: auto 12
driving aids: 2/2/4
brakes: 5/9
downforce: 30/33
LSD: stock
adjustment thingy for front to rear split: 13

I'm happy with the initial run. About 20 laps or so.

T1- 31.035
T2- 59.374

Lost at least .3 between T1 and 2, but I don't know if I can pull a better T1.

I'm taking the kink just before T1 flat out in 4th gear, but may try 3rd at the right hander as it may pull me through better. Just don't know what the lower gear will do to the balance going into the straight.

Right now it is the left, right sweepers coming into T2 that's got my number. Trying to find a good entrance speed to carry me all the way through. Haven't found it yet. :indiff:

Good luck to all! Great racin' wit ya.

Using the white one with the black hood and 498 hp 👍.
Word, that's the one I'm using, same HP rating too 👍

Question for ya, what're you doing for setup if I may ask?

Got in a few laps as well, the old cars brake like crap, and new ones understeer a bit, but I prefer the newer ones, older ones oversteer (FR) too much and are all over the place for me.

So here' my times and the car :

T1 : 31.983
T2 : 1:00.479

Using the GT-R VSPEC II NUR '02

Can maybe get like a 1.5 seconds off at the end ... but my settings also need to be tuned for more oversteer, what does one do get more oversteer in a 4x4 car ?

Is your VCD setting turned down low? A low setting sends all the power to the rear, and the car then behaves like a FR car.

Sector Time Update - GT-R (R34) 00

T1 - 31.278
T2 - 59.365

Lowered by 10 all round, and shortend 4th 5 th & 6th a bit, seems better, I think .
To be cont ( hopefully ;) )

I'll have to check again, thanks for helping me out, is low (more to the rear) to the 10 side ? Not the 50 side I presume.

@ DAAN

Hope you are using that thumbnail only as an example.

That particular skyline ( Nissan Skyline GT-R Vspec LM Limited'96 (road going version)) is a prize car!
*edit*
I think,
If my PS2 was on, I would show you the page in my diary that says I bought it. It also had 30,265 miles on the clock before I drove it.

This is the one I'm using

EDIT: I think you are thinking of the silver R32 LM road version, but that is illegal as it's a prize car.

I like being able to pick my own car and tune within guidlines makes for some fun racing, It brings the whole aspect of GT mode right into the WRS.

I have chose the Nissan SKYLINE SEDAN 350GT-8, this thing has 8, yes 8 gears!! So far I haven't realy tuned it to much yet. I need to mess with the gears more only using up to fifth.

Well this car is NA unlike most of the other Skylines with 472 hp and is rear weal drive. With 472 hp this car is a handfull, probleby would be a excelent drift car for those drifters out there. So far my splits are
T1 31.456
T2 59.518

Have more with tuning and maximizing my line on this fun little course. Have fun with your Skylines.

Yes, you want it closer to the 10 side.

NICE times Steve! I just did a few laps, and then all of a sudden for three successive laps I went faster and faster... Then I decided I was too tired to go on, and was satisfied... Now I see THIS! Darn, lol, oh well, I've got 6 days...

Here are my new T times, using a 1999 N1
T1 31.446
T2 59.326

Shaved a lil over .6 off of my final lap time, which goes along with my T time improvments. I'm still working on getting the lines down, and I definitely can see where I "need" to improve. We'll see how much I can improve.

Great start people!! 👍 !

Thanks KLR ditto for your times mate 👍. Its nice to be on the early pace for a change, instead of chasing times that get faster and faster:scared:. I'm definatly enjoying the smooth ride after last weeks bumpy roller-coaster. Still there's a long way to go this week and quite a few Div3 speed demons (you know who you are  ) are yet to post times, The Race is ON! :mischievous: .

tranny trick?

Here's more info about the Tranny Trick (aka Gear Trick). Basically, it gives you the most possible acceleration out of your car.

As to whether or not to use it, it's been around forever, and has been allowed in the WRS since day one. I'm not gaining any special advantage by using it — I'm being open and honest about it, and giving everyone the chance to do the same 👍

@kenny, if you wouldn't mind putting which controller you're using in your sig, it would help Small_Fryz and I (we're both working on the leaderboard) out. It's pretty tough to remember which controller each of the hundred-odd racers who run in a week use, and it takes a lot of time to try and look it up from past weeks for each person who doesn't say 👍
