/\ I used 220 and thought it was fine.

Huge improvement. Sat down today, 220 Gearing, and smacked my old time by 0.5 right on the first drive. However... I had an oh-so-slight 3-wheel-off on the chicane 👎
All the following laps were crappy-ish, and I couldn't really get it to work. I've seen T1s in the 0'25.3 area, but the T2 sector of my ghost remained unbeaten. However, not all was bad - my last time had almost-identical splits (0.010 improvement on T2), but the T2-finish was absolutely fantastic, and I won a freaking 0.6 on my ghost 👍

And Darren: I'm getting sick of my avatars. Perhaps we should finally kick off the 'Tar-comp?

Just passed my exams and get back here...
That's a great GT classic track but... these car...
I hate it. All FWD-car driving problems are included. It is slow but it has forward tyres spin just like a tyre-burner Escudo. The only way to be fast is DFP. But I've got only DS2... Sad... :grumpy:
So it seemed to be a hard race for me, but I'll try to do it as fast as I can)

How do you use 220 gearing ? I hit the rev limiter well before braking point for turn 1.

It doesn't matter, because what you gain from 220 throughout the rest of the track more than makes up for the loss at the first turn (which is very little). 👍

And it won't bounce more than once or twice anyways - for me, at least.

I thought i'd check out the PAL version and here's my splits so far after around 1 hours driving ...

25.041 / 58.158 ( seen 24.916 and 58.101 ) and with just over .1 seperating both my saves at the finish line ( in favour of the NTSC ) I cant really see too much of a difference on this specific combo although they do exist ( maybe the NTSC feels smoother and a bit less erratic ) I reckon if I stayed on the PAL version it would not be too long before I match my NTSC time eventually.

I will post both my NTSC and PAL replays in the results thread for people to check em out if they fancy 👍

Going back to finish racing on the NTSC version though and see if I can get a 57.9xx again that I hit once last night and hopefully get it in my best save! also I need to clean up the last section which is pretty much dodgy nerves all the way after the split :dopey:

:mischievous:MAHAHAHAHA:mischievous:, I am a SUPERBEAST:D.

T1-25:250(-.019:tup:)
T2-58:816(-.226:D)
Total-(-.504:mischievous:)

It amazing how music infulence how fast I go:D, I did have a time I was
happy with but I thought "if I turn up my music and try a little harder maybe
I can go even faster". Well it worked great, I went .349 sec's faster just by doing
that. I was a nervous reck by the end of the lap but what a time:crazy:.

good news, in that there is no difference in the 2 versions, as i suspected anyway, great splits mate, but be sure i will be back with better ones in my next session:tup:

Hmm, good idea.
I tried my old Korn CD I use in real life for driving fast and came up with these splits:

25.308 (:yuck: after seeing very low 25s)
58.786 (no idea how I did it :ill: )

again not very good finish so I think you still got me at the line

phew, luxy hasn't been this long in quite some time - maybe the wrs community is happy about cyril's return?

time submitted 'cos we'll be celebrating 31.12 all day and the ps2 will be off for a while.
i wish everybody happy endings and a great, healthy and superfast 2007.

ps. don't forget to submit for the photocomp guys - i haven't decided who will win this week!

Tried 220 top speed again, with 5th gear usages in the chickane section b4 t1, and the sections after t2, and managed:

24.910
58.030

lost .1 ish in the last corner due to some uncertainty on the gear choice, and whenever u r on a hot lap, if there is that sort of doubt in ur head u will most likely fluff it up, still happy with the final time though, submission has occured;) cheers everyone, happy new year

I have a question regarding the four wheels off the track rule.

In this track, a few turns before the 270 degree loop, there's a spot on the course where the concrete extends beyond the white line(to the right), which can be used as run off to set you up for a fast left hander that can be taken flat(into the small straight just before 270), is this part okay to use, as it is still concrete.

25.324
58.818

Finally figuring out T1...

The white line doesn't matter at all.
All concrete areas behind while lines are legal : the one you mention before the 270° lefthander, or the ones on Autumn Ring Mini pit entrance and exit.
Only grass, sand, and concrete behind rumble strips are considered off-track.

24.910
58.030

This is looking like we will be pretty close ;) Sweet battle 👍

@Cyril ... you posted a belter of a combo here mate! Top Marks!!! .. hopefully Mrweary will see how well this went down and bring in something similar pretty soon

Cheers
Ron.

It's a great honor to be complimented about a tarmac rally race by Mr. A.R.C. (although I never raced any ARC series consistently enough :( )

I tried the 220 gearing and saw some insane splits but this gearing seems to be slower in the last sactor (or maybe it's just me :-)

Like the car, like the track, hate my splits:grumpy:

Only had 1/2 hour session, hopfully will be able to shave a couple of seconds off.

T1 = 26.819
T2 = 1.02.545

All have a happy new year.

updated~~

first time ive seen these kinda splits ~ i was .3 off the optimal t1, and .6 off t2 for my first 45 min or so

i thought this was just me getting used to the G25 wheel ~ it is taking some time to adjust to the strength of the brake pedal ~ and ive gone back to SIM mode for the G25 because it gives more feel

~ but eventually on this lap i figured out, the harder you pushed it made you so much slower hehe

G25 Wheel? Congratulations! What's the improvement over the DFP though? They're both 900 degrees... Does it have that H-Shifter and Clutch?

Amazing splits everyone. Seems like the clash of the titans is back on

And Leaderboard Updated, as usual. At least, I'm trying to, but the site won't load me the updater. Michael, are you in there?
