hit the wall after the finish line, such a close call~

Jesus christ! .... you guys are starting to piss me off now :yuck: ... bloomin freaks!! :sly: ;)
Everytime I close in ... you guys pull away! .. maybe time for some new deodorant :dopey:

Oh yeah I also have hit that last wall ... what a ****ty reward it is after umpteen bends clean 👎

No clean lap yet, but having a blast ... great choice Todd 👍 :D

Best dirty splits so far:

16.9
43.8
1'16.9

Running with my trusty DFP. I might be slower, but at least I'll make a lot of noise :dunce:

Canoe
It is only a personal preference. If you are faster with one or the other then use it.

For 4 years I raced radio controlled +90mph gas powered cars and observed the same thing. Some people used the stick type radios, others liked using the wheel styles. It is totally personal preference as far as I am concerned.

I would be very surprised if Polyphony Digital had made their program faster for any particular controller.

And... until you are running as fast as the very top D1 driver you will probably not be able to discern any differences at all. As the difference in controllers, if any, is probably extremely small.

Don't worry about which is better, just run and have fun!

I'd say that the DS2 is easier while you're learning to rally, because the steering response is instantaneous, making it easier to correct mistakes.

That said, one of the keys to being quick on dirt is learning to steer the car with the throttle and brake, not the wheel. So in that respect, the throttle and brake control on the DFP might give the driver more control.

But I agree with Canoe, that for a driver experienced with both controllers, there's likely not too much advantage one way or the other.

I might have to bust out my DFP and start the WRS up again... I love rallying with it. Throttle control

@Cody, it's been awhile, welcome back :) How're you keeping?

running DS2 this week, haha (at least until i know the track then will run DFP)

dirty split (just :grumpy: ) 1'16.7xx

Woohoo! Only took 3 hours before I finally found the line  . Finally put up a clean lap, here's my splits:

T1 - 0:17.947
T2 - 0:45.186
T3 - 1:17.855

Definitely some seconds to still be had, time to get more aggressive, but first I believe some sleep is in order

had a run just then but have been able to quite finish a clean lap yet, hers my best splits

T1 16.889
T2 42.964
T3 1'14.399

i will try some more tomorrow, the lap i wrote was dirty, i grazed a wall on the section just after T2, i was quite annoyed with myself, oh well, i'm using the ds2 btw, i hope my colin mcrae skills can be put into good use this week, i'm using top speed setting of 220km/h, although not sure if 210 is the better setting

Somewhere between busy and nearly running myself into the ground. Only reason I am posting right now is I could not bring myself to go work, feel like crap :guilty:

I think I'll start out on the DS2 though for now, just to see how the car works...

You can rally too!!!!

Nice times mate!!!

Hahaha... I think I'm gonna start driving with 1 hand now. For hours I was barely breaking 18s with "proper" technique, then out of nowhere I got a 17.9xx T1 with this.

....and then I screwed up.

Edit:

T1: 17.983
T2: 45.218
T3: 1'18.474

CATHEDRAL ROCKS RALLYE COURSE CLOSED

El Capitan, US - Daring competitor in the GT4 WRS, Kenny Schabow, has flipped his brand new Hyundai Accent Rally Car '01 at the infamous T2 corner of Cathedral Rocks 1. The careening automobile hopped the fence and hit what is believed to be 26 spectators who were in attendance at the Time Trial event.

"Oh my God, it was awful!" is the erratic wail of Wanda Lindman, whose brother Jim Lindman was killed in the unfortunate accident. Next to her, the nearly imperceptible cries of lamentation from John Morris fill the air with a mournful haze. Says John, "After the dust cleared, panic ensued and people were running around, onto the track even, trying to find their relatives...it was horrible man!"

Kenny Schabow is mortified and deeply affected. The graveness of the situation did not come to him until the site ambulance arrived on the scene. The emergency crew treated the crowd first, and then Schabow realized he might have sit somebody. Many were lost because it was delayed by another fearless racer Small Fryz who rammed the ambulance out of the way to hit his apex; besides that the response team at Cathedral Rocks is inexperienced and initially started going down Cathedral Rocks 2 until an alert bystander signaled that it was going the wrong way. Despite the delay, the emergency crew saved the lives of 3 people. The first statement from Mr. Schabow reads "I am terribly sorry for my actions, I cannot begin to imagine what you fans must feel. I only hope that you come back for Week 10 when we race formula cars on Chaumonix." Schabow also maintains that the multiple flashing cameras distracted him from his perfect driving line, ensuing in the crash. "I was blinded, man!" Kenny suffered a minor cut from the Hyundai's motor as it landed on him.

Race sponsor and track owner CFM has decided due to the horrific state of events to close the track and the WRS to any future events. "We cannot risk these new GT4 drivers cutting corners without any regard to themselves and the fans." CFM could not be reached for further comment as he has fled to Mexico. As it appears, Gtmaniac usurps hot604boi's reign over the WRS, as this week's race has essentially been cancelled.

Why did you go and hit me!? I thought you'd appreciate me putting racing slicks on the Accent to gain a few tenths on the tarmac section.

LOL!!!

Yeah, I was gonna ask, what tires is everyone else using?

Teledriel
Does it not default to and not able to be changed from Dirt? I could be wrong as I have not loaded this up yet.

💡

I finally did something decent enough and a clean lap to post, I know that once the track re-opens I can knock off a second or so

T1 - 17.983
T2 - 45.082 (crap)
