I doubt it also.
So you Belgiums will get all the left overs from us in Holland haha. He leaves Holland empty the 5th.

Good thing I pre-ordered mine from the UK, Sinterklaas doesn't go there. :D

But yeah, GT5 would be a great gift, that's for sure. I hope for the children in Holland and Belgium that GT5 will be released before the 5th december, so that they may get it for Sinterklaas. If not there is always Christmas. IF it's released this year that is. :)

You know what's been bothering me? Outside of GTP and the sites linked to in GTP's delay articles, no one's really picked up on the whole firmware 3.5/missing production by 3 days story. Just search "Gran Turismo 5" on Google News, and all there is are articles about it being delayed "again" (since there was never a Western release date before this summer). There's no mention of it on the major gaming news sites either (IGN, Kotaku, etc.), and mention of production problems was deleted from Wikipedia.

Were those just unsubstantiated rumors, or is the gaming press still waiting for confirmation?

EDIT: The 3 days/3.5 story is back up on Wiki... but it was scrubbed over the weekend.

People like you really 🤬 me off. Not pre-ordering or just taking it off pre-order doesn't prove anything besides that you are stupid as hell! People like you are just going to get the game anyway. Pre-ordering now and paying it off means you can go get the game when it comes out, which is better because if you don't have money that day, you can still get it.

I'm not sure why he would piss you off becuase of how he chooses to handle his money and your logic about pre orders is really odd... wouldn't pre paying for the game likely BE the reason you have no money that day? It's not like you get it for free if you are broke... you pay the same price as you would have anyway but you just tie your money up the whole time.

With what you describe in the end a pre order and a normal purchase cost you the same $$$ but one of them also costs you the value of having access to $$$ in case you want/need it for something more important/interesting. It's like saying "hey pay youre rent a month in advance so if you are broke on the 1st of next month you don't have to worry".

The only value in pre orders anymore is saving $$$ with discounts or getting a free pre order bonus.

The only thing I wonder is where is this that they actually take all your money up front? Everywhere I see pre orders either it's a nomial place holder or they don't charge till they ship.

Hey, for every person that cancels a preorder thats one more person that a preorder may become available to.

It's just not him that I'm exactly complaining about. It's every person that takes out their pre-order or just decides not to pre-order because of a delay that could just be like a week or two. I don't know. I just got frustrated for a minute. :ouch:

I paid mine off right away. That way I can just grab it and go.

Same here. I walked in, paid it in full, got my receipt and left. Now I just hope it will indeed release.

Ok... still... why does that bother you or frustrate you? You are neither the seller of the product nor the orwner of a store that takes preorders (I assume) so what exactly gets you about people pulling their pre orders?

The way I see it, I could care less if someone pulls their pre-order or threatens not to get the game. They're the ones who will miss out in the end, and that's just more copies for the people who do want the game.

It's the fact that they take the time posting on the forum about their pre-orders and, etc, etc. It's like they're trying to say they are rebelling against Sony/PD. The fact that taking out your pre-order or not doing it at all isn't going to hurt Sony/PD in any way. Just someone else is going to take that pre-order.

It's not like it is going to take too much longer to release the game, so why even take out the pre-order or not even get a pre-order when said person was about to?
I know this might seem silly, but, it bothers me when someone posts about the pre-order situation, though, they're just going to buy the game in the future... Considering they're on the GTPlanet forums and checking updates on it. if they really didn't care, they wouldn't even be posting.

Also I'm really tired :(.

^ And the only ones who will notice it will be Gamestop's shareholders who will have less money from pre-orders to invest before the game come out, because that's what pre-orders are, customers lending money with no return in interests.

I guess I see what you are saying but it's kind of silly to say one pre order will go to another person... pre orders aren't really a quantifiable thing. There aren't a limited number of them, they just tell the company where to ship the bulk of their inventory to considering a game like GT5 will undoubtably press far more copies than can be sold in the first few days.

It's not like it is going to take too much longer to release the game, so why even take out the pre-order or not even get a pre-order when said person was about to?

To be fair, while most of us suspect that quite strongly, it's far from certain.

Well I'm gonna have to kinda disagree with that. It really depends on what the pre-order is. Like for example; The Collector's Edition of GT5. When The Collector's Edition was announced, it said exactly in the post "Quantities will be limited." And as seeing here in this news article ,(https://www.gtplanet.net/gt5-us-collectors-edition-sold-out-at-amazon-gamestop/), that edition has been sold out in the US region (at Gamestop and Amazon, anyway). But I'm sure they will never run out of the standard edition. Anyway you never know. But the collectors edition is besides the fact, and you are right.

Your northern neighbours have yet to sell out of CE's. Actually, I imagine the take-rate is pretty slim up here, as most games don't sell a lot of special editions in Canada, at least from what I've been told by GS employees.

GS employees are idiots, I bet they forgot to rescale the values when comparing US and Canada sales given everything in the US is 10x more when population based.

Uh, no. I got "a lot of LE's we get shipped remain unsold for a long time". Not a hard number, but a percentage.

Hell, I bought my MGS4 CE in August this year, they had stacks of them.

You calling me an idiot?
Ouch

It's ok I know what you mean though. Before I worked at GS I dealt with the type of employees who would probably ask which system you would want GT5 for.

Well quantities will be limited can mean anything... it can easily mean limited to the number of pre orders taken. Limited to the amount we can crank out in x months etc etc. Quantity limited is often times just something stamped on anything beyond the normal base product to induce sales and isn't technically a lie as long as you intend to stop manufacture at some point before the main base product.

I have seen plenty of limited quantity collectors editions lining shelves months after release. The only time quantity limited means anything is when they actually give a number and each unit is numbered.

You will also notice that Amazon and GS pulled pre orders right around the same time the delay was announced however other retailers haven't stopped taking pre orders...

If anything that tells me it's not really a quantity issue...

I don't see why it would be much different up here. Maybe they just aren't marketed as much here.

I think that's the case, really. And usually a lot less retailers pick up the more exclusive versions.

I almost walked into GS today to ask how my pre-order may be affected, until I remembered the chances of them knowing more than I do (because of GTP) are pretty much non-existent .
