GT5 delayed

Canceled my pre-order today, sigh. 
I'm now in the mindset that I'm no longer going to be held hostage by PD and Amazon. I'm no longer checking the news section of this forum everyday, I'm no longer salivating about when the new release date is going to be announced. The game will be here when it will be here lol.
What should have been in my hands next week, for some nice pre-holiday gaming, would now be smack right in the middle of the holidays gaming, rife with interruptions for Thanksgiving and Christmas family get togethers, office parties, holiday shopping for my family, for my wife's family, for the wife, for our niece, etc. etc. etc.
So ... my new plan is to purchase the game early January +/- (assuming it's out of course), once all my other commitments have calmed down, for some peaceful winter time gaming.

I'm trying to get all my school work out of the way for GT5 and hopefully by the time it drops by, the only thing I have to worry about are the finals.

Just for say something and continues with this...i don´t know when the game will be release...but a good date (just for say!!) will be november 30th or maybe december 3rd...i mean it´s a delay only for marketing and that stuff and i give those dates cause the best games always comes out on tuesdays or fridays...i know but read again just for say....just wait till the end of this month or this friday and we´ll see...
For christmas will be a bad thing for sure...it is better before or after and telling this, a good date will be january 6th...(i´m studying marketing

Just noticed something funny, at least in regards to North American release dates: the time between GT2 and GT4 is now less than the time between GT4 and GT5. Heck, the GT1-GT4 gap is closing in...
Simply to add fuel to the fire of rampant assumptions, I asked my local (cute female) EB employee about the release yesterday when I tried the demo. She said they've been given a filler date, but that it is in no way final, and "could" be released before hand. Though she added it could also be released afterwards too, "given the developer's history"... so she obviously knows something about GT

Lies lies lies. This is my last Sony console, thats for sure! Its sad to see Sony do this to itself :-( All it takes is to communicate to its customers whats going on, should be really simple. Instead they just dont give a ****. Amazing.

I understand everything except for canceling the pre-order. If it's already on pre-order just leave it and enjoy it when it eventually gets here.

Heh, baby-steps! First plan of action is to convince her that, in the absence of a midnight release around here, really, I should just be able to pick it up a few minutes before closing the night before!
So what are you going to do if they don't release a date within this week?...
Maybe he'll cancel his pre-order too? I could hardly blame someone for that decision if the end of the month passes by and Sony/PD remain silent...

The dumbest aspect, IMO, is how there are costant "Shows" where people can play GT5and Best Buy stores where people can play demos, yet PD/Sony won't say anything regarding when the public will actually have the opportunity to purchase said product.
It's like a constant hype machine with a broken "off" switch.

I am actually bored of waiting. Normally, I could care less. If a product misses a release date or two I just figure there are unforseen circumstances. With regards to PD/Sony, I just roll my eyes and shake my head. I figured a product of this magnitude and development cost would be handled differently. Color me unimpressed.

A postponed release date of a game is the least of your worries compared to the other console's issues, and the company's nickle and dime you to death/ hand in your wallet policy.
But yes, I am getting irritated as well, especially how they seem to be waiting until the very last possible second to announce the new release date in their October time frame.

After purchasing a new monitor, rebuilding the sim cockpit, acquiring a Logitech G27, & placing a deposit on the GT5 collectors edition at Gamestop....ugh, don't even get me started on this.
If Polyphony Digital / SONY misses out on this coming holiday so-called release date, Kazunori Yamauchi will need to be on suicide watch.

LOL...honestly, what can be more frustrating and painful than the wait for a new GT game??? I'll start...
You pick up your GT5 copy during midnight release and got home safely without getting arrested after running 4 red lights. You frantically unwrap the game and turn on your PS3. You pop the GT5 disc in for the first time, and then all of a sudden...TV says DISC ERROR, and your PS3 YLODs and dies. Then you realized that all the stores are closed by now and you can't grab a new PS3 right away.
