Damn, I never knew that. :embarrassed: You learn something new every day.

I do agree that there should be a lot more visual customisation options available in GT5; spoilers, hoods and especially more aftermarket rims. Nothing ridiculous though, I couldn't care less about neon lights for example. ;)

What I find silly is the regression of visual modification in racing games. Midnight Club 3, a game that is now 4 1/2 years old, was the absolute high point for visual tuning. How has no game yet matched or surpassed even that, a game like RC Cola to the Pepsi and Coke of Gran Turismo and Forza? Even the Need for Speed franchise has taken backwards steps over the years. It's ridiculous.

Blue windshield+blue headlights. I had a feeling that'd we be able to customize those eventually.

Umh.., No, I think the glass just appears to be blue.
If that shot was taken on Tokyo SS in the tunnel the glass would probably appear to be orange, hence its just a reflection.

Yes, I've noticed this as well. I think it has a place in Gran Turismo, and I think that's part of the evolutionary process of a series. If the fans want it, the fans get it. I believe many fans want it this time and the next times.

^The most recent Juiced game allowed you to install aftermarket seats.
I really hope PD atleast allows us to do that.
It is a beneficial upgrade considering driver position, lower center of gravity and weight reduction.

How is a pic of a real car, looking like the real car revealling anything other than that car is in GT5 and look slike it does in real life? The Skyline D1GP car in GT4 had neons underneath it, why? Because the real car did. Could we put neons under all the cars in GT4? No. Infact we couldn't put them on any car, they were only there on that car becasue it really had them.

Like I said, these features may be in and they may not be in, but baseless assumptions are not good. Besides, I won't lose any sleep if I can't give the headlights and windows of my virtual TVR Tuscan a blue tint.

Because JR Rocha wanted to make his G37 special from the norm. And so he did. You can see how different and badass it looks in its new form. I just have a feeling that PD would want to extend that passion for customizing cars to us, the fans.

I won't lose much sleep, either.

yeah all and well, but we're dealing with 400k polygon cars now and 1000 of them!

Some updated shots of the Stealth cars, posted on the official GT website today...

What happened to the 787B?

Ditto. That and the R10 are/were the coolest of the stealth cars (and maybe the F1). I'm still a tinge irritated that NA is stuck with the SLS. At the risk of sounding whiny, PD has pushed that car so hard that I'm almost sick of it

Forgive my n00biciousness if I have overlooked the answer for this question elsewhere, but what happened to the set of images that were uploaded to the News section earlier today? I wanted to go back and drool some more over the Le Mans classics, but they're gone :(

Thanks. I was hoping I'd be able to pick one up as a shiny new desktop background, but they're in the wrong resolution for my laptop.

I'm honestly growing tired of the "stealth cars" and the collector edition cars. One of the things that I used to love about the gt series was that they rarely, if ever, indulged in the stupid gimmicks that other game makers would use. I feel that PD is wasting their time on all of these limited edition cars when they could be spending that effort on making their product better.

Its just a way to get fans to pay more money. The 200 euro signature edition which allows you access to the SLS time trial is taking advantage of GT fans...

I noticed in the NASCAR screenshots the cars are bunched more tightly together like the real thing. Wonder if they fixed the AI to allow for accurate superspeedway racing or even added the restrictor plate which would bunch them up

My sentiments exactly. Instead of squeezing money out of fans, they should be making the game as good as it can be to make new fans. I'm kind of insulted, but I really shouldn't be surprised. I'm sure PD is under huge pressure from Sony to make this game as profitable as possible.

Aren't those on our site here?

And about the whole "new stuff" thing above, it's hard to see GT going this way. The Subway thing, that's cool. I like it. But all these "special editions" are pointless. GT Fans want a GT game. When we buy GT, we play the game, not read a book. And if all the stuff from the Signature and Collectors' editions will end up in DLC, then what's the point? Oh yeah, Sony's horrid marketing. I will get the regular game. Nothing else. I don't need 5 pimped out cars or stealth vehicles. Because the game already has 950+ cars. Why have 5 more? Unless they'll give me Ferrari's 25GTO. Then I'll buy whatever they want.

As far as GT fans just wanting the game, speak for yourself, I think the Apex book and GTR model car is kinda cool. How does an awesome 300 page book, keychain and model car end up in DLC by the way? 'Sony's horrid marketing' will be pulling in alot of extra money whether you like the stuff or not, as alot of GT fans will be picking up the special editions for collectors items or just to get some extra stuff.

Their product is already special enough for people like yourselves to not go worrying about how things could have been if they had not designed those 11 "slightly different" cars based on "existing models". Do you really think the game would have been massively different or better if they had not bothered with those ChromeLine and Stealth cars? Do you think the planning of the limited editions and their other physical extras like a book, model car etc. also had any bearing on the quality of the game whatsoever?

Seems to me like the only reason why anybody would bitch and moan about more expensive limited editions is purely because you are jealous that other people will have something you don't, either because you can't afford it or don't want to afford it because you can't justify the extra expense. Grow up people, nobody is forcing you to buy anything, and if those 11 cars all end up as paid/free DLC later on, what do you care? You'll download them I'm sure, at least the free ones, and suddenly they won't be so pointless anymore... Go figure
