Most average gamers shouldnt need to, people just see a game they like on the store shelf or read a good review and buy it. As I said they are not like us picking apart all this GT info for years!

I can bet people will see these screen shots and think its all like this, interiors and all! Why shouldnt they think that it is? Every other game looks like the screenshots do across the board!

Robin.
I bet they won't go out of their way to mention it on the back of the game either! :sly:

Thats what I was just about to add! I also bet all the TV adverts, magazine articles and game box pictures will all be premium models. And any damage action shown will be premium damage. People will then stick it in the PS3 and all hell on the interweb will break loose!

Ha, you should read the credit part of the read-me from the pictures.

Ridiculous, but typical for Ferrari.
Why is it ridiculous? They are protecting their IP and ensuring that full credit to them is acknowledged. What's the big deal?

Honestly, no, the game would not be massively different. But, I feel this is more of a matter of principle. These 11 cars do not represent that much time expended by the PD team, but they are still gimmicks intended to increase sales. If you think about it, 3D and head-tracking are also just sales gimmicks intended to sell other Sony products, such as 3D televisions. And those certainly took a lot of valuable time to implement didn't they? Once you start using these things to increase attention and sales, whats to stop you from using more? I just feel that PD is headed down a dangerous road to becoming like some other game makers, where sales are more important than a good product.
OK, maybe TVs should have never gone 3D. Maybe they should have never gone HD. Maybe they should have never gone moved to flat panels. Maybe they should have never gone widescreen. Maybe they should have never gone over 12" in size. Maybe they should have never gone to colour. Maybe they should have never introduce audio on TVs... Get the message? It's called progression, and yes, of course it is there to generate sales, but it's also there to move technology forwards.

Like I said, nobody is forcing you to buy into anything. Just buy the game on its own if that is what you want and stop worrying about what could have been or what other people are doing. Yes, PD (or more to the point, SONY) are doing it to generate interest, sales, and take advantage of those who will buy anything labelled as special, limited or signature. They are, after all, a business who are out to make money.

You will find more screen shots here aswell

Holding your DS3 is like holding a DSLR. You can even choose ISO this time, it is gonna be fun. I would love to see how we can make the car moving in phototravel, maybe a predefined route and wait for the car passing by?

Before GT5P was released Kaz talked about a possibility of letting you drive your car in the photomode locations. You can of course see the cars driving around those locations in some trailers. But nothing like that happened in Prologue. It's possible that they might've figured out how to implement that feature in the final game though.

Actually this is the part I am interested the most. It seems like we have an option to run the camera along with the car movement or stationary in one position. This is why we saw that chaotic blurry shot of Merc 300SL, which was shot from stationary position.

Those upgrade screens look so awesome. I am guessing those will be different per car. The photo travel is going to consume my life just like the photo mode in GT4.:drool:

Hope PD keeps the same ability to save images to USB, less cumbersome than uploading multiple high megapixel images to the games web site, then downloading. :)

If you mean the car diagram will change with each different car, then I don't think it will, as the top right of the screen informs you the player is in a Focus ST.

Credit where it is due.

The screenshots look fantastic. Really happy for the photo crowd.
I'm partial to the odd snap or two myself.

I think it will save to the hard drive directly, like Wipeout HD. But an option to USB would be fantastic as well. I really find uploading to server like NFS:S really annoying.

True PD is a business, and are entitled to making money, but I used to think they were above things like this. Maybe it's just my imagination, but the pressure they must be under to make this game profitable is starting to undermine their integrity. On a different note, my point was never to argue that 3D TVs are gimmicks intended for sales. Although I wouldn't buy one, creating new products is fair, and a part of life. I just meant that making GT5 compatible with TV's that hadn't been released yet seems like wasted effort.

Not sure if these have been posted here, but someone posted them over at Gametrailers:

Providing a link will be just fine. Please don't post such large images. People with slow connections will be here all day trying to load them.

;)

Didn't find this on the main page, so apologies if it is elsewhere already...
