The tires you get with the McLaren F1 (Sport Hard) is a bit too optimistic if you're after is replicating its actual performance. Calan_svc did a skid pad test to try and match tires to the car's real life result. For the F1 (which tested 0.86g IRL), the right tire in GT5 would be Comfort Medium (CM). For the Ferrari Enzo (RL test 1.05g according to Calan_svc although I've always thought it's 1.01g), Sport Medium would be more apropos. (here's the list: http://alturl.com/sswx7)

Personally, I prefer Sport Hard on the Enzo although for the F1, Comfort Soft feels about right. Another thing to consider is that the F1 doesn't come with ABS in real life. Because I turned the ABS off, the brake setting is 3:1. With CM it's a real challenge to brake into turns but more manageable with CS.

On a different note- I've uploaded a few more data onto Nurburgring GP/D. M3, C63, R8 and the two american and the two british challengers. It's good to see that the PP works quite well.

Yep I have read his thread its awesome! I encourage anyone who wants to get a more 'real' feeling from GT5 to read calan_svc's thread.

Uploaded some times on my two favourite tracks, Autumn Ring and Monza No Chicane.
Mazda Furia and MINOLTA TOYOTA. Both topping my time sheets! :)

Jeez I had to go back like 3 or 4 pages to find this one, its getting buried under all the 'I hate PD for stopping me from cheating' and the 'I'm a purist and you should all stop too' threads:crazy:

I just noticed that in the doc :

6. Please write in the chat, "[Car] time added by [PSN] on [Track]" after a time has been posted to let people know there where there has been an update.

Where can I find the chat?

click the blue part with the user list on the top right side of the doc. Its just nice to be able to know where and when the doc was last updated and who is actively using the doc. Thats why i have that in there.

Board Update

ALL TRACKS HAVE BEEN ADDED
I've just added all of the tracks to the board. Time and/or Weather changed tracks are grouped together, but reverse tracks are separated.

Start adding your times to all of the different tracks! the goal is to have at least 15-20 times for each track (more is better!)

I hope to see lots of new times up and with luck, some new users as well. Hope you find this useful and any questions, comments, or suggestions are welcome in the thread.

Thank you (for adding all the tracks). I've been comparing all the SuperGT GT500 and 300 on the Nurburgring 24 hour layout. The result is pretty interesting considering these cars are homologated.

I agree this thread needs sticky.

Im looking forward to that! The times may vary a lot because its the ring and there are lots of places to mess up on. (not saying you are a bad driver) but all of these little variables can make a time pretty different from other cars with similar performance on the ring. Maybe try a smaller track? I probably would use Suzuka East or Tuskuba, but thats up to you.

Just added my times with the Cappuccino '95, and also added a reminder in chat.

@HotRodKing
Thanks for the effort but adding times is going to be a little more complicate with all tracks added. :ill:
I don't think there is a real interest in most of the tracks. Can you consider to delete them if within.. a month or so are still empty?

@Andy89,HotRodKing
I use LM2005 unchicaned and Daytona to take top speeds. I experienced that SSR7 downhill falsed my tests. What you think about renaming the tab just "Top Speed" and add a column with the track inside the tab?

I agree with you, maybe we can add a column named "track" in the sheet, so we can indicate on wich circuit we obtained that speed, what do you think about it?

Yeah, I realize that its kinda cluttered now, but I will delete some tracks after a while if I notice that no one wants to post anything to them. I figure after lots of people know about this and use it that most of the tracks will be used.

As for the "Top Speed" section, I'm not a huge fan of a new sheet just for top speeds. Not that I don't like the idea, its just not what this board is about. I have no problem at all however with adding a section after the "Misc. Notes" section to some tracks with long straights. If anyone has top speed records they have documented, fell free to add a column called "Max Speed" or something.

As soon as I get my PS3 fixed I will be adding loads of times!

@HotRodKing
I'm not even sure it's possible to do with a google doc, but, with my excel docs that I keep I have a 'front page' doc that lists all the tracks in columns by type and they are each linked/hyperlinked to the individual doc/tab. Makes it very easy to navigate straight to the particular track your looking for.

Yeah I thought about that too. I could always make a bunch of different google docs for each track and have the existing google doc just be a home page with driver names, rules, and links to all of the tracks. That is a lot of work and is only just an idea. If lots of people think that would be great, then i would consider it.

For now, I am good with the sheet list button on the bottom right. I am looking into sheet links for the home page however.

Let's do it! Rename SSR7topspeed -> Top speed and add a column "track".
I find a little unfair doing it myself, as you added the thing ;)

Jag XJ220 and Suzuki Escudo added to both Top Gear Test Track (RS) and Top Speed sections. Amazingly they both topped out @ 195mph!

AMUSE Nismo 380RS Super Leggera, BMW M3 GTR '03 and Dodge Charger Super Bee 426 Hemi '71... all added to my times on Autumn Ring, a nice mix of different cars!

The M3 GTR is quite a weapon, very precise although a smidge slower than the CSL here but i'm sure it'll make up for it at Monza!

EDIT: Super Bee and M3 GTR added to Monza NC.
The M3 GTR doesn't have as much as an advantage over the M3 CSL as I thought it would, both VERY capable cars and precise/predictable. Although I suspect that the GTR in RL is far less highly strung than the CSL which makes it better for endurance racing.

I ordered my new laser for the PS3 the other day and is on its way to my house! Can't wait to post up some lap times again!

Id like to add some times as im pretty quick ;) but I wouldn't know where to start

Glad to hear! Just use practice or arcade mode to set times in any car on any track. Then find the track tab by clicking the button on the bottom right with the 4 lines on it. Once you are at a track, add the full car name, lap time, and all info. Thats it really. There are also instructions on the first page. Do remember to add your PSN to the driver list on the first page though.

I hope you enjoy this and add lots of times! Feel free to ask any more questions if needed.

Added the Dodge Viper SRT10 ACR '10 to my times at Autumn Ring and Monza NC.
:crazy: After lots of people talking this car up I expected quite a bit, but it literally is a pig to drive (stock on sports hard tyres). I expect piloting a oil super tanker through the ocean would be easier to turn... in a cyclone!

It still posted reasonable times, but you really need to brake hard and wash of too much speed before turning. Really bad turn in and no mid-corner speed, and the stock gearing is just woeful, especially from what is meant to be a factory racer. :grumpy:

With a suspension kit and some front end tuning, I imagine it should improve quite a bit, but stock it's just plain rubbish. 👎
