I agree too that Moon Over the Castle sounds too much like "JPN videogame music", in a bad sense. However, personally I have never liked the choices made for the opening videos of international versions. I also don't like the fact that international versions have always had different opening themes. Make them all the same, PD.

I don't think that the Western opening songs are up to PD or else they would all be the same. That's why every main GT game in Japan has Moon Over the Castle as it opening theme while each game outside of Japan has a different song. MOtC is GT's theme song.

You all do know that the new controllers are Dual Shocks, right? The only reason why they weren't to begin with was because vibration was interfering with the motion sensor. But Sony fixed it and released the Dual Shock 3...that's wireless.

Although, they need to improve the battery life a bit. It's very short for some reason.

Yup, DS3 can also do it. But the adapter was cheaper, doesn't run out of juice and I can live with the cable. But mainly the DS3 doesn't bring that comfy fuzzy feeling of using a long time partner that ran with me through more than one GT game, all the way to 100%. Repeatedly :)

After MOtC, doesn't the music change? I have heard that in Japan, they have a guitar solo, whereas everywhere else, it goes to Kasabian's 'Reason for Treason'.

The layout is definitely different, just compare this
autumn_ring_165x168.gif

with this(on the bottom right of the screen)

Again is the tab selected in this screenshot say original? If so I wonder why there is no badges on the tracks. And does anyone know what cape_ring is? There was no orginal that had cape in the title.

Original means courses created by PD, not just tracks from past games.

If true to GT4, the Original Tab encompasses any fictional track new or old created by PD, with the exception of city courses.

It's not Autumn Ring, it's Autumn Ring Mini, if anything. I'm too lazy to get a comparisson pic but if someone does it should be obvious.

Are you seriously asking about badges when most of the track names have underscores in them, which shows the game is an incomplete build, use your brain. :dunce:

Yeah I understand that original are courses made by PD. Thanks for the kind reply unlike some people around here.

Yeah I know it is a incomplete build smart ass. Why would they name the track "cape"? That's all I'm asking. I just didn't recognize the track and the top right picture looks odd. It reminds me of the track editor. Thanks for the help Killa [/sarcasm]

If I remember correctly the internal codename PD uses for Tokyo Route 246 is akasaka, so probably cape_ring sounds weird for similar reasons. It might not be the final name of the track.

I was glancing momentarilly at a game informer magazine today and I think I saw a picture of the track editor. I don't know if it has been seen before, but I hadn't seen it before.

I thought it was because they were being sued? :odd:

That'd be the right reason; there were the legal issues. All sorted, though. SS, what's wrong with the battery life? Mine lasts far longer than expected, even on the days where I veg out and do little else but play PS3 .

About Cape Ring: I'm throwing this completely out there, but when I first read it, I thought of a track that would include plenty of coastal scenery. The images accompanying it don't jive with that, but they might be placeholders. The track layout could definitely support that; the huge C-curve could be the tip of a body of water. Just a bunch of guesswork, though.

Yes, your point? You improve your skill, earn licenses, prize money and purchase new cars, that is the sort of thing RPGs generally involve.

no it's feature of some RPG games.

RPG can be game without any skills inventory levels of upgrading yourself. It's all about dialogs :) And it must give you choice.

It's common mistake done by all people even by journalists.

Diablo isn't a RPG it's a hack&slash and people use to call it that way. Wonder why ? :)

It's just a feature and it isn't part of any gengre :)

And for fun MMORPG. This is briliant therm and i didn't see to this day any game from that gengre :) There are only MMOH&S like WoW or Guild Wars.

Pre WoW used this therm RPG to call games like Fallout or Baldurs Gate or Final Fantasy.

After Wow people call anything that have levels, skills, etc RPG.

Sorry i'm no 15 years old to me RPG element it's dialog not skills or levels.

If we will use wrong therms everywhere we will get to point where newest Need for Speed 30 will be adventure/Racing Simulator/ RPG just because it will have levels and you must go somewhere to unlock new parts and it have some sort of damage system......

RPG element in GT5 would be like:
- going to virtual bar aand talk about cars, races etc.
- after race you can congratulate winner :
a) Awasome !
b) In next race i will get you !
c) #@@%@#$^ @#$@ You !
- before race you can go to garage of your rivals and kill oponent driver and mechanics by attaking him directly with wrench or talk him into suecide or kill him silently with piano string hitman style.
-Bribing mechanics or judges.
- Getting virtual chicks car.

etc etc :) This is RPG element :)

Some games that are or should be called RPG:

Fallout 1/2, MAss Efect, Baldurs Gate, Heavy Rain, Final Fantasy 7/8/9 (hardly), Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy, Sims (!), Witcher. DEUS EX BEST RPG OF ALL TIME.

Some games that are called RPG and shouldn't be or are weak examples :

Probably all MMORPG games. Oblivion, Morrowind, Fallout 3,

As always sorry for my ENG :)

I'm sorry that you have no idea what an RPG is. You even contradict yourself in your post. Have you even played half of these games?

Anyways I can see how GT5 is like a "car rpg" with the levels and "rising through the ranks" but there isn't a story at all. But how can a "car rpg" have a story? And no Need For Speed talk lol.

GT5 is nowhere near the level of being a "CaRPG". If it is, so is Forza & nearly any other racing game since the premise of GT is like any other: Buy Car, Race Car, Buy Mods, Race Car, Buy new car, repeat. Throw in license tests, online, & Photomode to keep it interesting.

Perkel:

nah... MMORPG definitely can be a RPG. If you play your role esp. on a RP server where everyone does. It all originates in board games where you pretty much just use your imagination. In that sense you can think of almost anything you play with other people as partly RPG if you want to, including GT. Playing a role isnt limited to having dialogs. Of course thats a little broader meaning of RPG...

1Yep all of them any many many more, even original RPG games like D&D

2That's why those are only RPG elements not Full blown RPG.

RPG - Role Playing Game - You are playing a role in game :)

If there is a dialog then there is a story always :) So i didn't mention it.
You don't need super story to be told to be part of good RPG game :)
Fun from paper RPG for me was from this randomneses (?). If you can't break a door because is made of steel destroy wall near it ;)

Good gamemaster was like a diamond ;)

Yes whole MMORPG idea was brilliant because you could play with a lot of people like D&D interacting with each other and you needn't game master because gameitsefl was gamemaster.

It was amazing idea but it gone horribly wrong with poor story, dialogs and mainly it depended on levels skills etc so people dropped idea of imaginative play to just recive what game will give you. And Wow Lineage and all other MMORPG give you only farming in the end.

Where is story in Gett XXX something then i give you YYYY repeat x 1000 ?"

Geez, the RPG bit was meant as a joke!

hey i'm just a nympho for GOOD RPG ;)
