And that's why.

Fallout's combat system - based on attributes and skill which improve as you level up, and Action Points - does owe a lot to AD&D specifically, but that doesn't make it AD&D. In fact, in many respects, GT5's B-Spec mode is a lot more of an RPG than Fallout 3 is.

I have to disagree with you here. Fallout 3 is an RPG at it's core. It's the concept behind it that makes it an RPG. COD is 100% scripted, and you can NOT venture off the path that they set before you. You go through a level, finish that level, go to a loading screen and hit up the next level. NOT an RPG. With Fallout you are in 100% control of you character, you commit yourself to certain quests, (which you can choose to either do, or not do) you gain experience, you level up. I fail to see how it ISN'T a RPG. FP doesn't make something NOT an RPG. Oblivion is playable in 1st and 3rd person, and it is definitely an RPG, anyone who claims otherwise needs to get their gaming brain checked.

No, I'm not. Once a tyre gets some even heat through it they barely make a sound. Also cheap 'performance' tyres are seriously loud compared to Pirelli's, Bridgestone's etc. I would know as my road car was a 400rwhp Commodore and the race cars I've driven vary from full slick F3's and V8 Supercars to semi slick formula ford's and Saloon cars to street spec BMW 120i's.

Sure thing , dude owns an Enzo and fits cheap tires on it ...(need to find the right size of a cheap tire first )

Anes, can you provide ANY proof to back up these claims, at all? Because we already have two videos showing that the tire screech is pretty darn close to reality.

FXX could do the trick but it runs on slicks, not road tires.
 
You have to take into account the strong directionality of exhaust noise, though.
Tire noise is better heard when the exhaust of the car is not pointed to the listener.

Or bouncing off a nearby wall / forest / etc. towards the listener.

I think the screech sounds are tolerable as they are, but obviously could use some improvement, like most things in the world.


More "depth" and variety would definitely help, with more "shaping" according to the level of slip - the scrubbing sound is not loud enough when it kicks in, and turns to screeching far too eagerly for most tyre choices. Or at least, that was the case with GT5:P

Ignoring the fact you think Ken Block's videos are shot in one take, you are obviously confusing surface temperature with carcuss temperature. When you are on a track, the majority of the heat comes from the discs radiating through the wheel into the tyre carcuss, resulting in a completely soft mushy tyre. Had you any motorsport experience you would know that the outter edges of a wheel are hotter than the surface of an actual tyre.

When you do a burnout, you fry the top layer of rubber off a cold carcuss which is why they smoke. Sorry, I've pushed cars to the limit for a long time and my tyres don't squeal like a pig during a celebratory burnout.


But hey, what would I know right? I'm just fabricating a story so people will believe me over the internet 👎 Get a clue.


Edit: As it's 3am here I'm going to bed. inb4 you post a heap more videos. I don't care tbh. I can tell you don't know what you're talking about. I have real life experience, you have a search button on Youtube.

Haven't played Oblivion, but Fallout isn't an RPG. It's a sandbox first-person shooter (unless you hold L2 - then it becomes third person).

Fallout IS an RPG, it can just be played as a first person shooter. Playing fallout 3 as just a shooter though, doesn't work the best, and it'll be really hard to get through later parts of the game. RPGs are about the character you control. You customize, and alter your character in a certain way by choosing a role or style in the game. A game which features morality can be an RPG, because a player can be evil or good, thus choosing a role in the game. Some could even say GTA4 is similiar to an RPG. An RPG is also a sandbox, Its an open world, and you do what you like.

GT in my opinion isn't too much like an RPG, but I can see how it can be.

What is this for an promotion? They can at least show one new picture daily, this would keep us busy till the release...

To promote the game in New York does not help the other players who can´t go to new york...

The engine sound in all the above videos is brilliant especially the M5 with its throaty sound and citroen with its screechy tone.

Excellent job PD! Keep 'em coming.
 
Where are these videos coming from?

People need to drive in chase cam (Like the M5 Video) so we can hear it properly.
