I still think it will be cars gifted to you from other players, as I pointed out as being possible on the last page. If someone gifted you a car you'd never realise they gave it to you without this Car Delivery menu screen.

Ohhh yeah!! I was wondering about that Car Delivery thing. That picture of the semi-trailer. Now it makes sense.

That's very true, but what I can't get my head around is where the gifted parts go? It says "Car Delivery", but we know that individual components can also be donated.
Perhaps it's an inconsistency owing to the probability that the home screen is still just a concept / mock-up. At least so far as we've seen.

I'd imagine that gifts get some kind of notification system, e.g. via pseudo-mail. There are another two "tabs" there anyway: "Profile" and "Community".

I'm assuming all cars acquired will be held in the car delivery menu regardless of how you got them but that doesn't necessarily cover components. The menu screens that have been shown have changed in the last few months so I wouldn't be surprised if they are different again upon release.

I wonder if there will be any incentive or reward for gifting cars and components to people or if it'll just be for goodwill?

Maybe that screen indeed isn't final, they might have to add another icon especially for the delivery of parts ( or gifts ), something looking like this perhaps.;)

Consider it done ;)

Something that has crossed my mind is the potential to exploit being able to gift cars and components to other people by creating multiple PS3 user accounts just to gift to a main account, this could be magnified if one GT5P gamesave can transfer cars and credits to multiple accounts.

Do u guys think it will be similar to GT4, where you buy a car in GT Mode, and it will show up stock in Arcade mode...?
Also, could we tune cars from the arcade mode when playing a friend / 2 player.
We couldn't in GT4.

That would make no sense to me, also not online. If everybody has a different car (Tuning,Setup) than it´s no more fair raicing... If they keep the PP Points then maybe... But I am no setup king so it would be not fair if the profs had an great setup and I play with normal settings...

You freeloading ba..., already thinking about getting around the system.
Maybe it's just a feature to stimulate ( or simulate ) the social online aspects and serve as a possibility to give people presents for special occasions as in real life like birthdays, Christmas, etc.

"On the first day of Christmas
my true love gave to me
a Crankshaft and a set of R3

On the second day of Christmas,
My true love gave to me,
Two Driver Gloves,
And a Crankshaft and a set of R3".

Etc.:D

Hmm there also appears to be a number 3 next to the truck. It's the only item on the screen with a number next to it. I wonder what it means..

You can take the boy out of Liverpool but you can't take the thieving scouse toerag out of the boy

For the record I'll be starting from scratch with whatever credits you get and only transferring credits/cars from my GT5P save and using the chromeline cars once I've progressed to the point when it won't make much difference anyway.

Damn, I've just had my birthday :ouch: It could be quite a nice gesture instead of giving someone invisible rep to give them an inconel exhaust system :dopey:

I'm guessing it means there are 3 cars in the delivery truck.

The GT-Planet Christmas album featuring "special guest" Translator-san ( doing a cover of Slade's "It's Christmas" ) and which includes a cut-out-and-keep 2D Christmas tree......;)

Now you're talking, maybe slip a bit of Wizard in there too :dopey:

The GT5 section is full of funny today :D

I have a feeling that there is going to be some racing for "pinks" with the gift system.

Example:

GTP'er - I am a much better driver than you.
Someone else - No, I am a much better driver than you.
GTP'er - I'll race you for pink slips.
Someone else - Ok, name the time, place, and car.
GTP'er - Viper ACR, 5 lap maximum, Nurburgring, best lap time wins.
Someone else - Ok, deal, which car are you putting up?
GTP'er - Fully modded R35 GT-R. Which car you putting up?
Someone else - Stock Enzo.
GTP'er - Ok, that works. See you out there.

It would go something like ^ that, but it would probably need to be a friendly rivalry, or with someone that you really trust, because if you put up one of your hard earned cars, then you want the other person to be honest, and if they loose, to actually "gift" you the car they said they would.

Christmas is coming early this year, well one month earlier, in fact I might just skip Christmas entirely this year ( at least I'm 100% sure there will be snow in GT5 ).;)

Yeah, sounds cool. I hope PD develops Pink Slips system, that before the race you place the car in the Pink Slip Slot and after race the winner wins it, and if player disconnects early, the guy who is still racing should win the car.

But if there is no such system, we have GTP forums and trust worthy people, we should have a thread just for that, so everything is 100% legit.

Who said the online system won't have pink slip racing? ;) No one knows yet how far it will go on that department.

Surely a DNF would be considered a loss, and the car would be removed form both drivers garage until one is granted the win to avoid cheaters sudden network failures ;)

Edit: NoxNoctis Umbra beat me to it ;)

It very well could be included, but with private rooms, you can set it up however you want and risk whatever you are willing to risk, rather than a generic pink slip race that PD has setup. Like in my example, I setup it up like a track day, basically, and you could get a few practice laps, and then at the said time, you have 5 laps to put up your best lap. Then, the other person goes on the track and does his best lap, and the best lap wins. So you are racing the clock on an empty track, rather than racing each other. At the end, since it is a private room and PD couldn't "enforce" it, the loser would have to send the winner the "gift". This could also work with as many people as wanted to join the private pink slip race. So, I guess with a 32 person room, the fastest person could when 31 cars in one race, if everyone was honest and delivered their "gift".
