GTPlanet needs re-evaluation 👎

SrRd's thread has been better than anything anyone else could've made and without even that, this entire forum would be lost

The entire forum is lost. No matter how many threads and reminding posts we have about a subject, there will always be the lazy ones who bring up the same subject over and over and over. Sort of like people are right now with SrRd. You bringing him up over and over won't bring him back or help his cause, it'll just make it worse for him and others. Use your heads people.

I do think the Dacia Sandero will be in the game. Just a hunch.

Well, I'm pretty chuffed!

Nuff said.

edit: I mean i'm happy with everything, Not bothered about the bits and bats that will or won't be in...I'll have the best driving game in the world and i'll bloody enjoy it.

-> Do we have any video footage about the cars featured on that PlayView demo?

^ Or a lot of people went Whoops! :indiff:

I'm surprised in all hell that none of the major gaming sites even covered the GT5 Playview tech demo....
I had to go digging for it!

For those of you who are looking for more information about SrRd RacinG's banishment, see my post in the thread I have created here. Please keep this topic about GT5 news.

I'm one of the ones trying to stay on topic here. One thing you have to respect about Polyphony Digital- they may express concern about showcasing certain items that people want that the game may not be capable of, but usually find a way to implement it anyways. Time and weather were eventually implemented into GT5, right? Even I talked about how Polyphony Digital should experiment with an environmental engine to allow for time and weather. I'm not going to say that PD spared no expense to include various features to make Gran Turismo 5, but it looks like their tireless efforts will all pay off in the end. There may be a few gray areas and lots of confusion, but I think this may the first complete (or very near complete) Gran Turismo experience ever.

Thanks Jordan 👍

...

Interesting to see the stores getting ready. It all seems finally, truly for real this time. If the story about media outlets getting their review copies this week is true, I wonder when we can expect the first reviews?

:D

A shame you locked the thread rather abruptly.

I'm planning to pre-order Saturday, cause I'm getting it on November 2nd. And, I feel there's still alot to be revealed. Is Spa in the game? I'm hoping it is, but even if it's not, we still got a big package. Heck, a GT version of Spa would probably make the disc size of the Blu Ray for GT5 even bigger than before. Will Kaz reveal more info? I'm going to say yes. He probably still has alot of GT5 secrets waiting to be revealed before release date. As for me, I'm not looking at the reviews before I get the game. As for revealing more night races for GT5, I'm hoping we get more info in October. [I think we will.] And, I think Kevin Butler will do his part right in promoting GT5.

[I'm also hoping PD reveals more NASCAR cars in October, and reveal if Daytona will have a night race in the game. But, we'll have to wait and find out.]

I would think the reviews wouldn't be seen until 11/1 at the earliest, perhaps the Saturday beforehand. The NDA would discourage any and all outlets of releasing information too soon considering the vault the game has been in the last six years. But maybe we'll get lucky and we'll see information leak out during the next 35 days. :D

Honestly, screw reviewers. I used to take their accounts for gospel, but we're the real reviewers. Complainers will find any reason to hate on GT5, whether justifiable or not. For example, I loved "Enthusia Professional Racing" even as people found every reason to hate on it. I still haven't lost my desire to play and own GT5. My anticipation has just been silent as I've mostly been reading GTPlanet news updates on GT5 and commenting accordingly.

Yea, for better or worse, it seems that a lot of gaming websites lean towards the more traditional gaming crowd. First Person Shooters, Role Playing Games, Platforming, etc

I think a lot of these websites (not all) don't really have a person there who is a big racing/car fan. So, I think I would put more emphasis on the opinions of those from Jalopnik and the like.

So, I can see the meeting now...

"Well, we just got our copy of GT5 for review. Stan, you are the best at racing (who kinda sucks) so we want you to do it."

Yea, I think I'll buy it and love it. I've loved every other GT and I don't think this iteration will be any different. But I'll be happy for PD if they get high reviews, because that will only help expand the GT fan base. Because I know that I didn't know jack about cars or racing when I first rented GT3. Now I'm hanging out here every day in anticipation and eagerly waiting the next F1 race in Japan. :)

That's why on Gamespot and other review sites, I usually completely ignore the actual reviewer's score and just look at the "user's reviews"

I have a feeling, seeing as how they're a sister-site to Kotaku and have that still-unreleased pack for FM3... you can't expect an utterly fair review, if they do such a thing. The same reason I won't trust a review of GT5 from the PlayStation Magazine.

I didn't bring up the reviews because I'll actually take them into consideration... ;). I just hope that they might be able to provide some hints as to what we can expect. Some reviews on websites pop up a few days before release, and the reviewers themselves are gonna have to get started soon to have their November issues out. Hopefully we get some more info...

I read the review of gtpsp and was really reluctant in picking it up, but to me its a perfect portable racer. still looks great. one thing id have loved on it was the london track. but hey ho.

i think motorstorm artic edge got higher scores...(i love motorstorm too), but it just doesnt hold my interest. gt on the other.... always keep picking it up for a quick blast.

Agreed with that review thing, I also think that it´s possible that GT5 does not get the rating that it deserves... Most of the reviewers has no clue about racing and racing sim´s, it´s like if I make an review about an RPG... I never played an RPG before so I can´t get as deep in the material as an real RPG player can get...

Just made me thought "what if Kaz/PD has shown as nearly everything and there are no more big surprises"? That would be a bit dissapointing... But I´m sure they showed not the half of the game...

If i do watch a review, which is unlikely, the only one i'll pay any attention to is over at insidesim. Some of you guys may not like them, but i've always thought they do a great job of being thorough and subjective.
